J.D., You are a young man with a young family. Both boys will be in school before long and trust me, it doesn't get any cheaper or easier to make ends meet. You are at a crossroad, and the decisions you make now will greatly impact the future. Incremental goals, a little at a time my friend. Sell the vehicles you don't need or get enough use out of to warrant the insurance, tag fees and such. The sentimental vehicles will be the hardest choices, but choices that must be made to forward your goals. Always think of your family first, "which we all that follow your channel know you do". You and Miss Laura will find the right decision going forward. Good luck on your endeavors and I wish you all the best. Make it wide enough to keep that RV inside. That will pay for itself in the long run. With a 14 foot door, the ceiling height will need to be 16-17',minimum. Any drains will probably need to be connected to the sanitary sewer system, depending on where you live. 200a of power would be nice. Size your gas line correctly - the farther you go, the larger the pipe has to be. Run a 1" water line. You can heat it in the shop.

I wish I had built more barn and much less concrete. I have added on 2 times and still need more room. Divide barn with wall and use gravel floor in (larger) storage part. Also, more concrete floor can be added in future. Gravel floor is also good where floor abuse is expected. Also, radiant floor heat is a must, it is really nice when you need to lay under vehicles.

Agree - still needs to spend some effort on that car to really Joyride it. I say sell the Chevy truck and spend the money on the Cobra and Shelby. The Cobra will hold it's value. The C10 will just keep consuming $$ and when you're done you will just have a truck that still won't handle anywhere near what the Cobra will do....

Word of advice if you build a garage put the lines down for a heated garage floor that way you can hook into them if you want. If you don’t do it before you put the floor in you’ll regret it trust me. Just some friendly advice! Love the content JD!

I find myself in kind of the same predicament , my garage is my workshop but also where I store my hot rod. It is a real PITA to keep moving it in and out to work on something else. I need a storage building to keep it in, but I don't have the money right now to build a nice building like you are. My brother offered up one of those car tents thats like 10x20 or 12x20 or something...I think I'm going to ditch the canvas and cover it with metal or something...anyway we'll see what the future brings.

I'm not sure what kind of building you're looking for, but the guy on classic truck rescue is putting up a pole barn kit and its pretty in depth what is required to do in the process. He's just getting ready to raise the trusses for the roof at this point. Just a thought. I like the c-10 as well but not a fan of slamming it. I have to agree with wife in that respect, lol. Laura---go to a whipple blower for the Cobra. You can get a 2.3L cheap now because everyone is going bigger. I have that one on my Cobra and 600whp is easily attainable without losing the cars driveablilty. DO NOT sell the Cobra. It's an investment that gets more valuable by the day and like many others out here...you will be very sorry after you let it go!

I can’t bring myself to get rid of any because they all serve a purpose. Plus if something happens and one breaks at least I have plenty of backup vehicles. My driveway looks like a used car lot too but they are all paid for except one and they don’t cost me anything but insurance and tags to sit there. I feel your pain, I love to buy and hate to sell.

If you are putting a lift in you need 18 foot ceilings the roof of trucks on a proper lift at full extension will hit a 15 foot ceiling. So if your installing a lift be cautious of the height of your building. You never know what your gonna put on that lift in the future

Should be easy to downsize. Way yonder too many Fords. I built a 30 x 48 and already need to double so yeah go big as you can. When your pour the concrete pour it deep enough in 2 areas for lifts because you'll want to have more than 1 lift in a garage that large.

Your ‘brand’ is your family, not the cars. Keep either the Shelby or Cobra, sell the other. Keep the F350 or the F150, sell the other. Sell the Passport. Either keep the Fiat or sell it (promoting something else to daily driver duties). Promote the Jeep to grocery-getter or sell it and buy a minivan for all those kids. Clean-out the other bay of your garage so the Shelby doesn’t get snowed on all Winter.

My guess is that you will ALWAYS have a yard full of vehicles. So, having said that, whatever you get rid of will be replaced later. But; sell more now. Get the building built (someone mentioned a bathroom/washroom in it and that makes sense). Sell: Cobra, GT, Red pickup, F150 & Fiat. Drive the mother-in-laws vehicle. This is a short term situation in order to buy and build the garage/pole barn. Then you could fill up the new building. Get rid of the car lot now.

I thought the Terminator was a keeper ;) If it's not working out, just sell it, also, I'd work out which is better for the family, the 350 or the jeep and maybe consider letting one of those go too. I'd say the only guaranteed vehicles to keep are the Shelby, the RV, the fiat and the C10. Laura needs a vehicle of her own that is practical for everyday use including the shopping (as a family, not expecting her to do that task alone,) but it seems the fleet could do with a bit of thinning out for now.

Honestly, I would say to get rid of the RV, but trade it in for a newer model, rather than giving it a facelift. Why you ask, because some RV parks are not allowing RVs older than a certain age into their parts. As well typically RVs getting old take a lot of extra maintenance. Plus it cost a lot to update or remodel a RV in comparisons to just buying a new one.

The six blow, yes it's nice to have one when it runs, but just keeps digging into the wallet every time it's down. There's much better options for a daily grocery getter. The F-150 I am it sure is all right for a daily pickup. You'll get decent money out of the Honda Pilot they're not bad, I'd get rid of your daily in a second, LOL The Cobra it still has a lot of video potential, and I think I'd keep the Jeep around.
