Perfect storm, Liverpool finding their feet and producing a performance up front, Konate and VVD back together to solidify defense, Liverpool finding their midfield, complacency at United after winning the cup and a lot of praise for the recent results, United downing tools at the end. This should be a reminder that there's still a long way to go for United to reach the right level. Although they move in the right path, this United squad still lacks and it is not polished enough for the highest level. Also, the old bad habits of some players are hard rub out.

Just a prime Liverpool performance. They play extremely direct, route one, aggressive football all based on winning duels and 50-50s and in this game United didn't win enough of the duels and the crowd always makes 50-50s more like 65-35 and Liverpool were more clinical than they have been for a year. @@diazkohen2149 That was another freak result. If you look at the stats Liverpool had the same number of shots and actually a higher xG. Liverpool just have a style of play that is super risky. That's why you never see City hoofing long balls forward the way Liverpool do, no hopeful crosses swung into the box. Guardiola wants to be in control to eliminate as many of the 50-50s as possible, be it technical superiority or numerical superiority. Liverpool are a super route one, sunday league style team. But it works

It's the manner of the collapse that's so shocking. Been a while since I've seen a top team resign and give up like that. They let Liverpool have their way with them in that second half and in such a fierce rivalry that's embarrassing. The manager made it even worse with his substitutions. I was hoping for a small humbling of United fans who have been way too cocky these past few months, but this was a complete humiliation and I almost feel sorry for them.

What caught me out was Bruno’s lack of leadership. As the captain, his behavior was abhorrent. He needs to lift the squad up instead of being the example of bad attitude. Needs to be stripped of the armband asap.
