@@truthseeker6370 Seeking companionship out of a healthy self is absolutely a human need. However seeking someone out of fear is unhealthy and will usually, if not always lead to a relationship eventually breaking down. Choosing out of fear, you aren't choosing the person or relationship. it is all about you, its selfish honestly. This man is ruining his life by staying with someone out of fear of being alone.

I have a question. Why do people still have sex? Sex is very gross, nasty, messy, and disgusting! I don't see how sex is a good thing. Why don't humans just remove sex from this world? Women can still get pregnant without sex (there's a lot of ways women can get pregnant without sex including artificial insemination). Sex does cause a lot of problems, so the world might be a much better place without it.

My parents are like this. My mom pushes my dad away when he tries to kiss her and I haven't seen them hold hands in over 20 years. When I got married I vowed to myself to never be like that with my spouse. My husband and I cuddle and kiss every single day, even if I am mad at him and have to force myself to be intimate with at least a hug because I inherited my mother's stubborness. A marriage without intimacy is just a roommates situation.

Sex is only part of intimacy. Non-sexual touch, conversation and a commitment to maintaining both partners needs is huge. My ex was a yeller and name caller which absolutely destroyed me inside. I stopped caring and emotionally checked out. My current girlfriend (marriage will never happen for me again) is very gentle and loving and she really attends to my needs. I can never do enough for her because I feel so loved and appreciated.

After I just disagreed on him in a topic. It's over now. I still have to tell him but I am hundred percent certain now. I checked out now completely. We haven't had sex since many months but I don't care because I can't be intimate and loving with somebody that treats me like this when angry. I think Delony hit the nail on the head when he talked about connection. Most women in relationships lose interest because there are so many distractions. One thing my husband and I do is take our camper to the lake where we have no TV or internet. We hang out, we fish, we do things together and we are definitely A LOT more intimate than we are at home. It's become an essential part of our marriage and something we both look forward to.

marriage does this to people. It did it to my friend. He always is askin me about women I'm with cuz I'm not married and the other day he told me he always asks me about it cuz he hadn't had sex with his wife in over 2 years probably going on 3. I was in shock cuz I remember him before he was married he was pretty damn active with many girls. So I could see something like this could cause a married woman to cheat.

@OneButton Dash well, you don't have to cheat. You bring up the issue that it is a need that you have and then you figure out the reasons why there is no attraction and as long as the partner puts in some effort to resolve that issue stick with it. If there is no action on it and the problem persists. Divorce, then get your needs met. Marriage is supposed to be a covenant where people can have their needs met m, but unfortunately it has become a battle ground. Marriage is supposed to reflect the covenant God has with His people. A partnership. People want relationships when they should focus on a partnership and that requires communication. Most people don't know how to even communicate their needs properly because of sniffling growth in childhood where the child's needs were neglected and they stopped speaking up because of constant rejection. Just one example of how that may be a core issue. Sex is also a manipulation tactic or the withholding of it. It's all just horrible.

Sometimes the sex just isn't good. Go years of only one partner getting "theirs" while the other partner gets nothing out of it. And then you have one partner feeling like they are deprived and the other feels constantly badgered. Both parties are unfulfilled and neither is being honest about why the sex has stopped.
@jjgems5909

It’s clearly not. But theirs things you can do to make it better and to see what the other partner needs. It’s not so much the sex but the communication. None of these people have ever. The argument here for the lack of physical fulfillment glosses over the true root cause of why their sex life has vanished. And it’s because they don’t communicate openly and honestly with each other at all to have any form of emotional attachment that accompanies marital sex. When you properly communicate those things you are able to fix the physical issues that keep the sex from being “good”. If you have that openness to communicate with the other, and both actually give a damn to fix their issues, it’s amazing how much it can improve. But if that doesn’t exist and nobody brings forward their issues and choose to sit back in resentment and silence then these things happen. My wife and I in our early stages had some of those issues but once we truly communicated together and tried new things to satisfy the other it became immensely fulfiling for both of us

If you and your spouse both truly love, and are in love with eachother you can find other ways to be intimate together cuddling naked holding hands, massage and caressing along with sexual instruments to aid you both. I can imagine there to be some portion of both shame and guilt you both are probably feeling. The problem is, women want a “good guy” for all of the responsibilities, cuddling and other intimacy, besides sex. She wants that from some guy who treats her like he is pillaging a village. No woman wants to have sex with a good guy. They only have sex to “trap” the good guy, into providing a stable life, knowing you won’t do anything about the lack of activities. Marriage is a scam.

When you get older but still have zero sex, you often give up. Then every so often it makes you angry that you are being denied sex AND intimacy for years, so you bring it up and wind up fighting. Then that fight is your biggest problem for the next few days or weeks while you work and pay the bills and sleep on the couch. Then you slowly start being civil again and the cycle repeats over and over and over and over.

It's very possibly the case....or definitely could be. It was for me...married to a great guy for nearly 15 years, but he never really did it for me physically/romantically. We were very rarely physically intimate. I married young and grew up in a pretty tumultuous household w/parents constantly at odds...which i believe heavily contributed to my choosing of someone "safe" and more for emotional stability. Attraction and sexual compatibility were just not top priority, as i was very inexperienced in that area myself when i got married. Tough situation!

I really feel for people going through these things. It use to be so hard to imagine people ignoring these insanely important topics. But... it's much more common than previously thought. Firstly, I love how you ultimately tell people to accept everyone with different beliefs. Beautiful. This husband must be so lonely (she may be as well). I'm so sorry anyone ever has to feel truly alone, it's a dreadful feeling. The only thing I would change or slightly adapt about your advice is when a conversation like this is approached, I would stay away from saying things like, "because YOU date your phone! I feel like this!", etc. It can potentially come off as quite aggressive if she's feeling defensive and it's placing a lot of blame on them. I would honestly just do everything else you've said and TALK, SHARE, and try your best to be vulnerable. Discuss feelings around certain issues or behaviours your partner does. Keep in mind, IF you want to heal these wounds, pointing the finger could cause more seams to loosen. I hope you all figure out how to make your souls happy

Where one or all of her three grown adult (toddlers) have not lived in our house and we have supported them almost all the time due to them not wanting to get off video games to get a job. Why mommy supports me! I don’t care to have sex because if it’s not the dog whining or the grandchild that we support at the door, it’s one of her kids screaming at their video game that they just got screwed over from a head shot. Tired and saving for lawyer. Can’t come soon enough! This is no means the only reason. I get you brother. My first wife spent all night for two years chatting online with aol to find out she had been with several men and I was the a hole to record her conversations. How do people expect to be sexual well into their 40s and 50s with the very poor diets they eat,. lack of exercise and stress? High passion is a young person thing and you can't expect to have this 30 years later. If you do want sex you have to work much harder for the passion as an older adult. You have to be fit and healthy and have good communication.

Sex is such an important part of any relationship, like trust/loyalty/respect, sex and physical touch is another element that should always be present. If you aren’t getting trust you’d walk away, if you aren’t getting respect, you’d walk away, so if you aren’t getting sex and intimacy you should walk away if you’ve asked for it and your partner still isn’t on board.

I hear this and know it.I'm 72. I have struggled with generalised epilepsy for fifty years. The meds available in the 1970's had side-effects which basically put you to sleep. It's better with the new meds. I was part of drug trials 1989, and then 2009. In 1980 / 1 - traumas with family deaths. And I am gay. My church policy in 1980's was to cure with prayer. (Grief). The good part of the story is I have had a partner for twenty years. We are blessed. So much for being healed. But I did not understand that I became asexual with all the problems including health. I won't risk meds change. My partner has only just talked about this - something so vital........... Effectively we became loving roomates. He is now a healthy 60. And needs to have a partner who is not asexual. We are planning a way forward .It is hard. But we are committed. The health aspect is tough. My faith is strong. I do believe that people need to give up on loveless church / religion and find real faith. And this asexual thing is not a choice .It' happens. And losing shame is not easy. I give this so that it might be shared. It's don't give up. Love as you can. Give as you can. And receive as you can.
