Our 3 engine mini bike gets 3 high performance Honda clone engines! We removed the three Tillotson 212 engines and replaced them with a built 196cc engine, a Tillotson 225cc high performance engine, and a built Tillotson 212. This is one fast mini bike! This mini bike is so powerful that it does burnouts... at 40mph. We also built a three into one header for this drag mini bike to test the performance and sound!

I think I figured out why you won't respond to the V-Twin 27 or 25 horse or 30 horse Kohler Engine off of zero turn lawn mower from a Toro or a Exmark something like that but it has to be a V-Twin and it will work on a go-kart or a mini bike it would work awesome, so I'm taking it you guys just don't know how to do it

I think it would be really cool and the perfect build to make an inline 3 to 4 cylinder engine out of 5hp briggs flat head engines. Ive seen people take a couple flat head briggs engine and build them into one engine connecting the cranks together. There's alot of vids on here about doing so. I just think this would be the perfect bike to do it with. Make like a 4 cylinder inline rat rod bike.

I think 3 equal length pipes into a collector should solve most of the exhaust system problem. Unless you can somehow get the engines firing order 120 degrees apart, they will confuse the exhaust effects. IMHO. A really fun build!
@patrickmchose7472
@patrickmchose7472 2 жыл бұрын
Nah - motors are completely out of synch. Pulses are not timed.
@desertdenizen6428
@desertdenizen6428 2 жыл бұрын
@@patrickmchose7472 If the engines are locked together with chains and the sprockets and are the same tooth counts, the RPMs should be identical. I need to correct my previous comment, the engines would need to fire 240 degrees apart to time the exhaust pulses equally entering the collector. I am used to tuning 2 stroke engines. :( Only the last engine should have a centrifugal clutch and be beefy enough to withstand the power of three engines.
@bbevis2357
@bbevis2357 2 жыл бұрын
Since you started the other 2 engines first it blew all the welding debris into the 3rd which probably happened to have the exhaust valve open. The 3 into 1 header is cool but 3 individual exhausts is much more practical for this setup. 3 'zoomie' headers would look sick
@spyder7758
@spyder7758 2 жыл бұрын
Shared exhaust without having the cylinders in time sounds nuts lol can't wait to hear it and see what it does, 3 firing at once will give you a lot of pressure
@arronk09
@arronk09 2 жыл бұрын
Another problem you might have with the exhaust situation is that the scavenging effect is dependent on valve timing among other things. Since you dont have all three cranks synchronised, the valve timing from cylinder to cylinder also isn't synchronised so the exhaust pulses aren't timed to help with scavenging other cylinders. If you can "time" your cranks 120 degrees apart from each other, that'll go some way to helping. I look forward to seeing what you do with it!
@cr500_conversions

Not with these. Not enough to be detrimental I would think. The length of primaries are too long to interfere with eachother.
@Herbybandit
@Herbybandit 2 жыл бұрын
You can't time them unless they are continuously locked together through the chains as if they had a single crankshaft. You see as soon as you start the first engine the timing is gone! The first engine is spinning while the others are stationary.

I can understand the difficulty of mating engines together, I know an older gentleman that has two SBC's on a pulling tractor that were timing syncro'ed and had identical parts inside and out. He tried a common header between the two and had instant torque down low but lost everything beyond mid-throttle. The exhaust pulse was washing out the other engine. Went zoomie headers and tuned each engine till it was happy and had much better luck. The healthiest engine will suffer HP&TQ loss but it will "boost" the lacking engine (in a perfect world). Good luck guys, still a cool build to learn about. Keep keeping!
@willedmunds3818
@willedmunds3818 2 жыл бұрын
I think the whole 3 into 1 header idea is good in theory. If all three engines were linked together at the crank via a heavy duty chain you could optimize the firing order for maximum power through the header. You’d also be able to run the whole setup through one clutch/torque converter and it would sound significantly closer to an I3 rather than 3 different engines running through one exhaust. It would be harder to start but two of you guys cranking at once could get it running. I’d love to see something like that on the channel!

It would be a lot of work, but I would be curious to see the 3 clutch setup run to a jack shaft that is running a torque converter to the rear wheel.
