For those looking for this door. It's a 2008 Atwood county coach rv door. It's no longer in production. Atwood was purchased by Dometic but when Dometic purchased Atwood, they sold off the door division to a company called "Challenger Door". They are the best bet at getting this style of door, that i can find.

To add to this Challenger Door did purchase the rights for this door but they did do not make this door. You can get a similar one but... it does not appear to be anywhere near as quality as this door.

You should paint it to match the rest of the bus, like red or white, also what are you going to do with the "Good News Bus"? Are you going to put chrome rims on it to make it look like an rv but honestly this bus converstion is the best ive seen on youtube, it looks so good, keep up the good work👍👍

Now this bus came with a panic-free door. I have seen some school bus conversions where they just kept the original door on. The door that you are installing is what most bus makers call the "sedan" door. When I was a kid, just about all doors were manually operated and they came with a manual door control with a chrome link that ran from the handle that was mounted just under the windshield divider to the door.

just started watching your videos and came across the one where you paint the bus. i think the reason the paint may (or might) fail is that you (primed and) painted right over top of the galvanized steel. depending on where you got your steel from there is usually a think layer of oil and the zinc in the steel has a reaction with the primer. you may have needed to use either (again depending on manufacturer) an ammonia solution or a muriatic acid to clean the metal then sand it down. your paint may still peel if you didn't clean your metal.

We used an epoxy primer that I was told was designed for galvanized and that I did not need to etch it first.

Finally...... My week is complete. I thought ill check to see if you guys put out a new vid,and you did,AND ITS THE DOOR. I just measured mine and with the biggest camper door it would look 1/2 size. I have been looking at surplus and ebay and not seen any,but keeping an eye out for one. I bet the ride will be much quieter. And now you can finish the interior around it. Keep up the good work and push forward!

It’s actually a 2008 Atwood door that was designed for a Country Coach RV. It has sat in some warehouse waiting for us to start our project all these years...lol. We really like it. Super duty door.

If it were me, I would not go through all that work. The door that came with the bus is perfectly good, especially if it has air or electric controls. All you need to do is add an outside switch and interlock for security.

LOL, snakes are generally not poisonous, they are venomous. Poisons must be ingested, inhaled or absorbed, while venom must be injected into the body by mechanical means. There are a few species that are actually poisonous and venomous but they are rare. (just some trivia for the kids) The bus looks fantastic, I love the door. To my knowledge this was originally meant for a country coach RV. You could expect to pay as much as $3000 for a door like this but we found our door on eBay for around $800. I have not seen one like this since. 😕
