How will you fight AI video? Love magic. My father was a magician in the magic shop at Disney in the 80s. I never got into it myself .I had the skills just not the stage presence due to being spectrum spicy. Regret not trying harder.

This is the first time I have ever bought a Thanks on KZbin. I've been following you for years and have followed your puzzle journeys, your magic journey (that inspired me to join this amazing world), your truthful and beyond inspiring exposure of your personal ups and downs.. and now your recent Area52 journey (the only videos that I have ever seen on KZbin that are over an hour and can't stop watching...). Thank you for all that.... and all you have contributed in every one of those amazing worlds....

Chris should be recognized for what he's done. He lead a whole generation of people to magic. Was forward thinking and didn't bend to the idiots who were wanting to gatekeep magic or how people find it, interact, or learn magic. Really think about out how many people he's responsible for finding magic and the community. Chris deserves some type of recognition. People who don't realize he's helped in what they do today. Especially anything online.

I’ve always had an interest in magic but I never pursued it. Then I got married and had kids and magic was a distant memory. I found your channel on KZbin years ago when you were doing your tutorials and you relit the fire in me and I began practicing. For my own entertainment, but also for my kids as they love to be fooled and love it even more if I teach them a little trick or two. If I didn’t find your channel, magic would probably still be a distant memory and I would not have these amazing memories with my kids, and future memories with my grandkids. Also because of you, I was able to get through the hardest time of my life in hospital with magic and it made it so much easier. Thanks Chris, from the bottom of my heart ❤️

This is wonderful, wonderful news! Finally acknowledging the huge role of the Internet in the magic world. The two have been split for far too long (so much so that even some mainstream/non-magic media sources have started to catch up), and this will be the beginning of a new kind of collaboration. Thank you!

My dad was really into ham radio all his life, and had a lot of the cards of the people he would chat with from all over the world on display in his office. He passed away in 2010 at the age of 55. 🙏 This just sparked that memory. Thank you and I hope you enjoy it.

I wish KZbin like tracked what subscriber you are or something. It's wild to see that you got 7 mil. I feel like when I subscribed you were well under 1 mil. Could be wrong but still blows my mind that a magic puzzle channel is this high. It's definitely the production and background music that did it for me.

Great news! Well done to all of those who made this happen, I hope it's a huge success! I only really came to consume magic when I encountered this channel a couple of years ago. Having an online magic championship really make sense. I hope it grows the magic community and that there's some sort of renaissance so that all the people who work in the field are rewarded for their skill and time they've invested. As much as I appreciate just watching magic, I also love watching others get joy from it. Look forward to the awards and hope we'll see more magic related videos from you Chris!

Make sure you have Captain Disillusion on the judge panel for the online stuff - im sure there will at least be a couple people teying some fancy cgi or something to try and sneak by

Getting The Captain in the loop. He would give credibility that I believe the most people will accept.
@antoniodiavolo8 күн бұрын
Chris said they have to submit the method as well
@marshalbaek55808 күн бұрын
@ I thought the same thing, but you could dream up a method that you couldn't actually perform and make the illusion work with editing regardless. Know what I mean?
@antoniodiavolo8 күн бұрын
@@marshalbaek5580 I mean if you come up with and submit a method that would accomplish the same effect without CGI/editing, I'm not sure why you'd fake the video if it could be done for real
@kinexkid8 күн бұрын
@antoniodiavolo truth be told, I posted this comment before he got to that part. But I do also partly agree with one of the points Marshal made. Someone could have the method for a super complicated trick all worked out and written down for the submission, and they might be just not good enough to hide certain aspects during the performance, so they could scrub a little bit of a card showing here, or a mistake there. It probably won't be very prevalent since good editing is probably just as hard as doing convincing magic.

This is great news! It reminds me a lot of chess, a veeeeery very traditional game, and how it started having the necessity to adapt to online events to be able to keep up with the newer generation of chess fans and players. A lot of top chess players say that that is once of the things that is keeping chess alive and relevant. I hope this adaptation helps the magic community as well!

Great news, but I don't like the vertical format restriction. This disadvantages those who are only on KZbin and are used to working in horizontal format. I know it's not a mandatory condition, but the implication is that vertical format videos will get preferential treatment. I'm not speaking out of self-interest since my public performance days are behind me.
@WTFlux-lh2tf8 күн бұрын
It's simply a fact that the evolution of the human social construct is more and more "e" online. I also think that this is the perfect time to initiate such an effort because of the solid validation that online personal presentations signify in nearly every field. IMO, the momentum of official recognition will build a far healthier and coherent magical brotherhood amongst all magicians world wide. Bravo!!

Sounds great, love your passion to keep the art alive and get people to think about new formats. What counts as original though? Surely a lot of acts use existing methods, just tweaked slightly or presented in different ways? Why the vertical restriction?
