Trading JP this year would be a mistake imo. He’s a big part of the reason we can see steady development in these young players through this point in the season (that and injuries resulting in more minutes) and I’d like to see that continue. JP showing game in game out how team-centred play gets results and keeps you in games. From what I’ve heard he’s almost functioning like a player/coach for these young guys. I don’t see a need to tank. We have a lot of good young talent already and they are showing very positive growth. Next year’s draft is going to have awesome players throughout the first 10-15 picks anyway. If some of these early season games bounced a little differently and if we don’t have all these injuries we could have been in playoff position right now in a very middling East. I say just keep doing what we’re doing, it’s clear the process is working despite the injury setbacks.

@smartenuphumans6 күн бұрын
I'm NOT into tanking, I HATE losing. This team can ball - so what's the answers here? in a few weeks, this team should be healthy (meaning Barnes and IQ), what are they going to do for 50+ games, throw them? Gotta compete! So if this team is like this w/o IQ and Barnes, just think how dominate we will be with them? They'll win themselves into late, outta of lottery. Unless they fake more injuries giving them ample ample time to heal. But why not try and win? The east is weak - two teams - the chances of upsets are huge! Don't you believe this team can upset the Celts or Cavs? Of course they can! Healthy! Also, think about this - if Philly keeps losing due to real injuries (cause they're trying to win), they get the 1st pick, not the Raps. NBA would rather have Flagg in a Philly uni, then in Toronto. Now maybe Ace is the number 1 at the time, point is, the NBA needs the number 1 pick to sell jersey's, and American jersey's sell more than Canadian ones! ..now you're risking to hopefully get the number 2 pick. Just f@ckin' win man! It's better when we win! Its all assumption about a #1 making a team win in the future (not being a bust, not getting injured, able to fit into the team, might be a slow start to their career), when we can prove for reality sake we are winning now!

That's how rough and injured the East is. I want to see what this team can do, it's been a year of injuries. After 20something games, if Raps can get some bodies back, they can actually be a decent team. Play-in is attainable. Shoot for playoff experience. Fuck a tank. If this draft is so deep and talented, then there should be talent wherever they draft. Also having the Pacers and Blazers pick. With the Lotto, they can lose in a first round and probably still mathematically land a top 10 pick. There are more Gradeys out there in 10-15. I don't really care to obssess over Flagg or a top 3 pick.

There is no Poetl trade coming - and we can see why now as the vision for the team is unfolding. If this is year 1 - watch what happens year 2 !! Because they are really building the bench mob and the starting 5 is going to be incredibly hard to double because they all can make another team pay. I used to be rooting for trade Brown and Boucher for another high quality young starter at the 4 spot - but Grady’s the real thing and the chemistry with RJ is great. Scotty is going to the 4 to allow Grady to play the 2 in between RJ and IQ. Now I am a little reluctant to beg in a starter of note because I see guys 1-5 that are hard to improve on in a trade.with players that are available. It’s going to be exciting to watch in the end of the year when this team can be out together to see all the injured guys back and what we really have as a team

100% I sell high on Poeltl. This team has some good young pieces but is nowhere near contending. Poeltl is signed for another 2 years, they won’t be contending in that window. They should be in the “accumulating assets” phase of their development. Had they sold high on Siakam and FVV they’d be in a much different place right now. Last few games Poeltl feasted on some teams with no interior presence. Don’t let a few games fool you. He is what he is - a middling NBA center. He’s fine. He takes up space. That’s it.

@@cissem4025because it will destroy any chemistry they built running through Jak… is the idea to keep trading just because their values went up? Doesn’t that just make them a g league team than? a lot of us do not want to go through the bayne and Len eras again. The raptors went downhill when serge and Gasol left. Centres are the anchors and incredibly difficult to get and we finally have one after years. No one wants to do the dirty work anymore of setting screens, boxing out and rebounding.
