So theres a lot of things in this movie that are completely ridiculous but theyre hilarious once you know them. 1 deadpool spends the whole time hes searching asking all the henchman where francis is, but he knows nobody knows who that is because he goes by ajax. 2 the end credits scene was a parody of the ending for ferris buellers day off, all the way down to an exact copy of the bathrobe lol. 3 the reason dp keeps "forgetting" his guns and ammo is because when they were making the movie, the budgey wasnt big enough to have massive gunfights and cover all the marketing costs. This is why he uses two swords and maximum effort lmao

She was nervous, but the idiot director told her to bang on a glass screen door as hard as she could. The glass broke and she fell through. Well some. Most activate with puberty but not all. Some kids who wouldnt have activated otherwise, do activate at or during puberty if they encounter a traumatic situation, extreme pain or have a panic attack. Anything that invokes extreme emotions. Those with dormant, recessive or otherwise unactivated x genes need the serum and uniquely triggering traumatic situations for them. But even then it's unlikely to happen.

You talked about how this was completely different from any other Marvel movie, and there's a reason for that: until recently, this _wasn't_ a "Marvel movie". While Deadpool was always a Marvel character, decades earlier, when Marvel Comics were struggling financially, they licensed out all their juiciest intellectual properties to lots of different movie studios. Sony got Spider-Man and his rogue's gallery, and Fox got the X-Men, mutants, and all associated IP - which includes Deadpool. This is why, when Fox made this movie, they could openly have the X-Men be a part of it, but they couldn't feature, or even _mention_ anything from the MCU. This is also why they can't draw your attention to the fact that the climactic fight at the salvage yard takes place on a downed S.H.I.E.L.D. heli-carrier, as seen in the _Avengers_ movies, and not on a decommissioned regular aircraft carrier, as I initially thought. Of course, since back then, Disney has bought up _everything in the world_ and has retroactively re-shuffled this movie under the Marvel label - but at the time, this was a completely separate production, and had to remain strictly distinct, on pain of legal action.

Technically Wade didn't mutate. His cancer cells did. And they reproduce at such a rapid rate that it gives him his healing factor. But if you deep dive into the comics you will find out that the Weapon X treatment started to fail and he lost his healing factor. He actually met death (who is a woman) and fell in love with her but Thanos was also in love with her so he kidnapped her and that made it so Wade could never die.
