Ice racing is the best. I learned how to drive 'fast' on ice as a teen and when it came to drifting and car control on grippy surfaces later it was so much easier. Also, it's a lot cheaper on the tire budget.

I did the same thing back home in Alberta (Canada) on a proper ice track growing up. The look on the faces of other drivers getting passed by a 75 chev impala 4 door WITHOUT studs being driven by a 16 year old-was priceless!!!

Learned to drift in highschool parking lot too, all around the main road, between 2 moving busses parked it between a post an a green box.... Ranked top 1 in grantorismo 2 years running, *had account banned from laughing at someone saying swear word.* passed up by a red bull sponsorship at that point. It's about the fun, not the money, your time is worth way more then money! I study science and landscape now. But love driving, motorcycling, you name it it's got an engine im having fun, why I landscape lol! Only have so much time to give to others, regardless of amount of money.

Then again, if that becomes a problem, then a nice pair of driving gloves for track, or even just some hockey tape over the offending heated wheel and R buttons would solve that. Hitting the R would really suck depending on what mode they are in, but that's my biggest question even when I saw Haegerty's $10M On Ice vid yesterday, and saw the VW site saying (spoiler alert) "They Won" Is it Drift Mode, Special (N-Ring), what Custom settings? Obviously the dash isn't in R, but that doesn't mean the car isn't.

I grew up in Jackson Hole driving 4wd trucks in 2wd just to have fun and back then we’d say “you steer with the rear” Once I got to try a awd Audi it was game over, we’d do 70+ and flick it with WOT throwing powered for days 😂😂 cool video guys

Tbh there is no clean ice there. Thats just snow so studdless nordic compound winter tires are perfect for it. Studds wouldnt have anywhere to bite on that surface. And studdless ones have more grooves than studded ones to bite on the surface they are driving on.
