This is a clear proof that IT’S ALL ABOUT COMMUNICATION. Aka you can’t expect people to read your mind. If you want somebody to call you, tell them. If you want somebody to be with you, invite them for a coffee. If you want somebody to fill your skip, POST A SIGN! People don’t have a crystal ball. Thank you so much for helping your local commutiy, I don't live in London but what a great idea. Councils should take note of this, not everyone has transport. But then these same people call people like (man & a van) in to get rid of their rubbish and pay them, not knowing that these scumbags are dumping ( flytipping ) the rubbish everywhere. I'm sure the councils across the country would save themselves millions in cleaning these fly-tips up, at the same time do these scumbags out of a job. Just drop these skips off in different places and come back a few days later & empty them, then put them on another street or road. Do that on a routine and fly-tipping will drop across the country 100% We're paying anyway in our council tax, so let's see everyone getting something back from councils. WIN-WIN FOR EVERYONE

If you re-proposed a larger/longer container again once a month in various locations to all Councils it may very well, A: Save money B: Alow re-purposing C: Reduce the amount of Street dumping. At the rear of my flats we frequently get dumped upon and it's irritating and can create fire risks, there will always be a few but with the right guidelines it could change for the better community spirit. 😀👍

I think some people struggle because it isn't made easy enough for them. Most areas around the country in the UK are allocated only 2 bins per residential property. (Unless a multiplex then bins per person living there) One for "general waste" and one for "Recycled waste" (even though the recycled options are confusing so most end up putting everything in the "General waste" bin). Some have more like 3 or 4, maybe 5, one for "Food waste", one for " Garden Waste that you pay for yearly or maybe can afford to buy extra bins from your council but on average its mainly only 2. And if you need to remove larger items you can either pay the council to come collect but they insist you leave it outside and they can arrange to pick it up between 3 to 7 days. But makes your outside look a mess. Making people judge you for leaving stuff outside because it looks 👀 like flytiping sometimes, even when it's not. Or you take it the local dump BY CAR or Van, not everyone can afford a car or Van.. So it then makes the only options, hold it until someone has a skip , advertise for free or pay someone to come collect it. I think it might be easier if more than 2 bins are available. It's anoiying maybe but if every home had the right bin options readily available with not extra cost to the home user, garden, wood, metal, glass, plastics, paper and cardboard, food waste and none recycle bin... Food and none recycled bins picked up weekly or fortnightly and then when other bins are full, just call and let your local council know and they collect. 8 bins per home does sound extra at first and It's looks like more hassle for rubbish workers at first but do this for 5-10 years, and it will just become the normal thing for next generations to follow too.
