Twilight is just such a cult classic now imo. Especially to our gen that grew up with it. I think most of us think it’s a objectively flawed and cringe movie but it’s so nostalgic and iconic for so many reasons. (the colour grading, the script, some questionable shooting/editing choices, the acting, the soundtrack.) It’s so fun it’s such an inside joke to everybody who once were obsessed with the saga. And for that reason I absolutely love Twilight lmao - also let’s be honest it’s Team Charlie

The girlies who read the books in elementary, middle or high school tend to be team Edward imo. Jacob was manipulative in some instances and would make her feel terrible for loving another. She never once saw Jacob like that. She was in love with Edward since the beginning.

To say the Twilight movies were a phenomena is an understatement! Girls/women were obsessed with the books, like nuts. They spread like wildfire through friends, family, coworkers & EVERYONE was talking about these books. So when they announced they were making it into a movie, everyone just went crazy. Edward Cullen on screen?!? Whether people like, love or loathe these movies, they are a part of the cinematic lexicon. Seeing Robert up there embodying so many people’s favorite book character was exciting. Don’t even get me started on the fact that in the books Edward is an accomplished pianist and composer and writes a song just for Bella. That is a big part of the books & they barely touch on it in the movies. So when it was announced that Robert was a musician, actually played the piano in the movie and composed two songs in the Twilight soundtrack, people went insane. I felt sorry for Robert Pattinson. He is so shy and thrust into superstardom with all this fame. He just looked miserable at the time he was doing press.

In the books, the vampires didn't 'sparkle' in sunlight. They looked like they were on FIRE. This is a weird direction. Jacob was skinny in the first book then went through puberty and was buff in the next book. They were going to fire Lautner for a buff dude to play Jacob, but Taylor convinced them he could get buff enough to still play the part. He had to bulk up FAST.

The reason the kids go to high school is because the family enjoys living in a single place for as long as they can. They all enjoy feeling more “normal” and Carlisle’s passion is working as a doctor, so that entails staying amongst human society. The Cullen kids were all changed between the ages of 17-20, so in order to stay in a town for as long as they can without people noticing they don’t age, they’ll pretend to be as young as they can get away with. So they all start out in high school, and will eventually graduate, and then sometimes enroll in nearby colleges. Each of them have numerous degrees.

The vamps have skin as hard as diamonds (a very strong stone that refracts light and so, yes, in some light it sparkles and in full light it looks like it's on fire) along with an intoxicating scent and mesmerizing voice, to help them be the best predator and hunt humans. Since they don't hunt humans, they spend the time when they can't sleep pursuing other projects, like taking courses, writing music, investing, etc. That's why they're so rich and the home is decorated so well. They go in pretending to be really young so they can blend in and stay longer without anyone questioning their ages. That's why they graduate so much. They also go to college in some places, especially the ones who were older when they were turned, like Emmett and Jasper. All of them have multiple degrees, including Edward, which is why they can pretend to attend any school and be whatever kind of student most likely to be ignored (btw, that's good but not excellent). Not only do they have to take algebra repeatedly, but they also have to pretend they're learning it for the first time instead of being more capable of teaching it than their teacher (trust me, this is a balancing act). Since puberty hits everyone differently, they can just pretend that some are late bloomers and others had a growth spurt. By staying to themselves and kinda being their own clique, they just get written off by the other students for a while and then move when that changes enough that adults start making waves about it. There's a lot of context from the books that got cut when writing the script that might have made this all clearer.

I would recommend any of those movies (kinda want you guys to watch Sharkboy and Lavagirl too since taylor lautner is in that if you haven't seen it already) i feel like of all of them twilight and new moon are the most cringy (not an unbearable cringe like everyone portrays but enough to make you kinda clench with the dialogue but the last 3 honestly go hard because there's a lot more action and suspense and you get more invested lmao, i want you guys to watch the rest for sureeee. p.s. the title of the books have to do with the phases between the sun, the moon and the earth ex: twilight is like the soft glow you see when the sun is just below the horizon when it sets so it's like the ending of a time but the beautiful start of something new. kind of symbolizes the development of the characters' lives or bella's life.

As an adult rewatching I got the Team Edward side. But when I read/watched in elementary school I was with Bryce, I was heavy Team Jacob. Had a team Jacob backpack and everything. Also even for Twilight superfans that Charlie scene is just hard to watch I have to skip it.
