I appreciate how much you are supporting the 3D printing community and actively not gatekeeping your knowledge and success in the industry.

This is great! ⚡⚡ As a person living in Europe, your Etsy plugin opens up the whole US market for any models I might make. The buying program is a tasty cherry on top. I'm a complete novice to 3D printing, and have only done some modeling in school in Autodesk Revit. About to order my first printer. But you really motivate me to just try and put a model up for sale! Thanks for that and all the other great videos ♥️ Best wishes from Denmark

One major sticking point for me in regards to opening an Etsy store is finding a CAD platform that is easy enough to use while also being free or cheap, for commercial use. I learned on solidworks in school and have been using onshape for personal projects. But most popular cad platforms are very expensive if you wanna use them to make stuff commercially. Would love to see y’all make an episode about this!

FreeCAD has recently seen some major improvements as they near releasing version 1.0, including fixing the topological naming problem. I'd argue it's become very usable now, and it shouldn't be too difficult to pick up if you already have existing cad knowledge. They have a written tutorial on their website.

@@zinput NO FRICKIN WAY, that's the best news i've heard all week. how the hell did they even solve it? i need to get on the rc branch. i've been using the current "stable" release of freecad because working around its issues has been less painful than the idea of paying autodesk and making my cad skills dependent on their mercy, but that revamp sounds absolutely incredible

I'd love to learn more about what 3D printed products take it the next level! I'm talking mostly about integrating LED and microcontrollers in their products. What kind of challenges do these products have to overcome if they get on Etsy or Shopify.

About Slant Print on demand channel: I don’t know what happens but all the videos have a very low volume audio. I usually watch on my tv. Videos from Slant 3D channel are ok at 30. To be able to hear something on Slant Print on demand channel I need 80 or more.
@Werdna123452 ай бұрын
It might be an issue with needing an audio compressor. If youtube detects a high audio spike it will lower the level of the whole video especially for TVs

Got a question for you: are y'all removing comments that reference a shop name? I have seen a couple references that no longer show up in the comments - including my own. Not sure if it's YT or a choice that y'all have made. Either way, really appreciate your content and industry insight/experience!

Gabe, will you guys be offering the same review/purchase offer for Shopify stores? Just put mine live for my little product and would love to get feedback on the product, the printing design, etc. Going babysteps at the moment but it's continued 1% improvements every day. I wish I could use your print on demand plugin service to open up USA for me (once I get settled domestically in Aus), but my build volume is too large at this time for your farm. I don't necessarily need you to buy one in any case, I'm more interested in your insights on the product and the build of it as a 100% 3d printed, practical piece of equipment. That is worth much more than the sale.

So I just tried out the print on demand app to get a sense of your prices. I think prices to print are super reasonable. However going to price the product to sell on Etsy seems hard. It's possible I'm using the wrong numbers but I think I'd have to price my product very high to actually make any profit off of it. Would you be able to do a video on pricing a product based on printing from you guys and selling on Etsy?

I'll be a bit pedantic today. Meta is playing fast and loose with the expression "digital twin" here. These are high-fidelity 3D models at best. A 3D model may be part of a digital twin but they go deeper than that. There is nothing in what meta is doing that hints at a digital twinning application. It's virutal reality stuff and perhaps generating models for 3D printing.
