As a monarchist and a lover of old times (mainly pre-WW1) it really makes me calm and happy to see monarchist songs from the country in which monarchy is still alive in "my" times In which the words like "We'll never let the old flag fall" were gloriously fulfilled God, save the King! @@prischarsky9843 because all revolutionary ideologies ultimately failed to accomplish their goals. Even most of democratic republics had a similar story. Few exceptions are France, Taiwan, Ireland and Iceland. My country regained independence as an unstable republic which led to the dictatorship. Now we are a republic too, but it's corrupted and we are still behind the West Monarchies are completely different. Most of the monarchies today are rich, stable and prosperous countries, whose citizens are rather satisfied from their lives and don't complain for having this system. Instead of changing the governments all the time - first socialists, then populists, then liberals, then conservatives, then someone else, we have something constant which remained unchanged. And I don't like when my world changes too often. I don't see a point in abolishing it - monarchies worked well for thousands of years. We know they did, because our civilisation developed and we as hummaity survived. And now I see that all those countries which kept their kings, princes or someone else are in a better situation than those which didn't. Why destroy something which isn't bad? Oh, and I like tradition. I have a huge respect towards my ancestors and the past. I don't want it all it all to just fly away.

God save the Queen indeed! Ultimately, humans need a stable figure to rally behind, the big chief if one wants to put it crudely. Someone who spends all their time worrying about the next election or a flag simply aren't good enough. Some might claim that it's unfair that someone is born into such a position, that they don't deserve it, and I agree - that poor kid is going to have to sacrifice so much for their people for their entire life. But it is a necessary sacrifice in order to bring out the best of our nature, rather than fighting against it and in the doing bringing strife to our society. Respecting that sacrifice in the same way we would anyone else who lays down their life for their people is crucial to that.
