Dylan and I randomized Scarlet and Violet and had 15 minutes to catch Pokemon types and each time we catch a pokemon we lock the other out of catching that specific type! Good as gold doesn't prevent you from getting a status effect, it just prevents moves that are considered a status move. Nuzzle is an attack move that has the added benefit of applying paralysis. Would have stopped a thunder wave, will-o-wisp, and moves like that however.

They only count the typing they chose, so if another Pokemon has the locked type, but an unlocked type with it, they can claim it with the unlocked type.

That seems kinda pointless except for very specific situations imo. It would probably be better if the lock locks them out of anything with that type as its primary type.

How about you choose 1 type you WANT to capture and lock the opponent from using 1 type then you go around and capture whatever you want that matches, within 15 minutes. Note: if pokemon is dual type and has the type mentioned as locked then you cannot capture it (unlike in this video). But first both of you choose the type you want (write it on paper and show in same time). Do the same with the type you want to lock opponent from using (write 2 types beforehand, in case one of them has been chosen as the type they want to use).

Should actually lock them out of pokemon of that type, even shared. For example you catch dialga and lock dragon, then Dillon can't catch any pokemon that has dragon at all.
