Great Video 👍 nice bit of kit. I have a fond attachment to Reliant, I drove one on a full motorcycle licence, saved me a fortune on driving lessons. Passed my car test no problem. Can't wait to see it restored. Nice bit of kit too.

As ever, Tondon doesn't disappoint. All their kit is top notch and I would buy this endocscope purely on the strength of your review. The head will have to come off to properly assess the bores. I hope it will just need a hone and some valve stem oil seals. Looking forward the the nexr Reliant video.

At that price it’s an utter bargain my camera costs 10 times that amount and I would definitely say picture quality is better although I can flip from the end of the lead to 90degrees which is handy. I hope you strip this engine give the bores a slight hone providing they are not oval re ring it and enjoy it. Cracking video as per usual Martin 👍🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿

Whoopee I’ve waited along time for this 😂 How has the rest of the Reliant held up, chassis body work etc? I think your making the right choice using that engine, it’s nice trying to do upgrades and improvements but as you know as well as me the costs can escalate. I’ll look forward to the up and coming videos of this, I was really impressed with the scope good video 🙂👍

Hi Martin The endescope is a good bit of kit . On the subject of burning oil, do a compression test before you strip the engine also you showed the crankcase breather, to me it looked dirty if that is blocked it will cause crankcase compression and in turn push the oil up past the rings . Thanks for showing the endescope a very informative video

Martin, a friend of mine picked up a 1949ish Austin taxi cab. It was removed from someone's rear garden here in the States. The gearbox got flooded because of a hole in the roof for the taxi light. I don't believe that many Austin's were imported to the USA in any numbers. This is only the second one I've seen in many years. I know of an older Citroen that was brought here, a number of MGA and MGB cars here, and I recall seeing Reliants that came across the pond. That motor and gearbox would make a cute tractor as it's quite small. Incidentally, the day the Austin showed up, there were some very rusty Ford Model A cars that had also come in. I have a gearbox from about a 1930 that my uncle had. I bought it at his estate sale, and am working to build a tractor and incorporating it into my design. I actually was looking for a shaft to fit into the universal joint on my gearbox, so I was able to pick that up quite reasonably. I hope things go well on that engine that you're working on.
