It’s not the curtains need to be hemmed, it’s the curtain rod needs to be moved up. That ceiling height is low so chopping into that wall makes it look lower. Put it up as close to the ceiling as possible to give the illusion that the ceiling is higher.

I think having an Otter. Find your lake/pond should make you very proud of yourselves. It helps prove all the hard work you have done has been right. Having wildlife return is an awesome thing. You have improved the land so much since the fire and flooding. I look forward to seeing how much more you have planned. I've been watching you since you were on the boat. ❤❤❤

Sorry to hear that guys ❤ we started backing up the same thing onto 3 hard drives when we started shooting weddings out of fear of loosing everything for our couples, this way we knew we had 2 back ups and we have continued doing it for our KZbin too. It's quite expensive buying 3 hard drives each time and takes a lot of time to save everything but it's just that added protection 🤞🏻

Your room turned out beautiful. Everything fits perfectly. And when you sew the table is small enough to put it in front of the window for natural light. AND you have lots of room on the floor to spread out the curtain material. I use my dining room table. Hopefully one day you find a person who can retrieve data from your hard drive - maybe in another country.

You should get yourselves a NAS drive and set up in RAID 1, that way if a drive fails, you have the files mirrored across 2 disks, and replace the failed disk, and it re mirrors itself

You guys definitely need a mill - have you ever considered building a Davinci saw mill? It is of course, a much slower process, but it does work efficiently nonetheless. There are a few bushcraft videos that depict the build (different variations too) of a complete water-run saw mill, well-worth considering on a budget :) I loook forward to every video - have been a fan since your van days... I am always amazed by your energy and syncopation in thought - you are each and both a lovely example of humanity. You inspire. Thank you!

Lovely and fun video for being last minute. What a team! I personally don’t like curtains dragging on the floor but I’m guessing that a style. We just bought a condo and all the curtains are on the floor and I’m trying to live with it but I’m leaning towards replacing them. You’ll need a name for your otter. How about Oscar? 😅

SUGGESTION: hang a lovely large tapestry on the wall behind your desk area. It would also help with the echo in the room (it is a bit hard to understand you). I love the way you have the room arranged now.
@roberthealey72382 ай бұрын
They do make manual milling attachments for chain saws that aren’t too expensive, you’ll waste a bit more at the planer getting them as exact as a mill but they work for small scale milling. You could try eyeball milling with string line/guide boards but that would only work for 3-4m long cuts max and you’d lose a lot more planing them down. I did this as a kid with uncles and grandpa but their was a lot of waste, vs a proper mill, but beat having to slog entire pines and maples out of the deep forest land. Make sure to use fresh chains if cutting manually for best results.

If you have monitors you might want to consider wall mounting them above the desks to give yourself more desk space. I’ve had friends actually mount mini-computers to the back of the wall mount monitors and use wireless keyboard/mouse/trackball/tablet/headsets to get rid of all the wiring on the desks.

On the KZbin channel château diaries Stephanie actually found a guy in France who owns all of the equipment for milling! He’s like a tree specialist and she first hired him to thin out her forest around the château and pass for her and then he brought his equipment there and started milling wood Because her cousin is a carpenter and he started doing repairs to the château and they use their own trees! Maybe there’s somebody like that in Portugal that has their own milling equipment that travels around with it on a trailer and you could hire them to do the milling part.

Bummer, Theo. But you and Bee are great at "soldiering on" as you Brits say. Bee, the curtains puddling on the floor can be considered quite chic. Also, using the larger stumps as chairs is brilliant. Maybe make a table top out of rock or even acrylic so that you can sit out with Margo and Matild and drink your coffee or tea. Theo is so creative, I'm sure that he can think of something. Have a blessed week from the Texas Hill Country. 🙏🙏🙏

Bee & Theo, you may want to put a plastic mat for under the work chair. We have hardwood floors in our office, and when we had no mat, there was a patch under the chair that damage the finish, and it had to be sanded and finished again. The room does look lovely for your sewing area, and Theo’s editing area, and a yoga area, and then a place for a guest to sleep. Such a beautiful room for so many tasks. Well done!

Trick I've used with a broken hard drive (not an SSD) is to put it in the freezer for a few hours, then get it out, reconnect to pc and copy off as much as you can before it warms up and maybe fails again. Repeat while you save files.
