The cages around the props are weed protection, not fish protection. And put a 10oz baitball on those trays, then the springs make sense. According to the banggood page you've linked to it's a lithium battery. And the button on the bottom of the transmitter is a "Fixed speed cruise" button.

im dying to know if the fixed speed button means i can take my hand off the acceleration button and have it come back towards me while im fishing or i still need to hold the acceleration button. it would be the determining factor to if i get this or the flytec 500 with the pistol style controller. if anybody knows i would very much appreciate it

These boats are used for taking the hook and bait to exactly the same place, without the need to cast it out traditionally. The propeller protectors are to stop weeds from getting tangled, not to keep the fish safe.

Had two bad experiences with toy boats when i was a kid, all before anyone had invented RC boats... The first was a foot long model sail boat "racing sloop" that, the first time we sailed it, sailed out to the middle of our pond, went bow up, and promptly sunk to the bottom - never to be seen again. The second was a big, rubber band powered, "Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea" Seaview submarine that went down, obviously got stuck on something on the bottom of the pond, and refused to come back up. We spent hours dragging big rocks on the end of kite string all over the bottom of the pond, but couldn't get the sub to come back up that way... In both cases, the separate toy companies were nice enough to send us complete replacements after we wrote them about our experiences. The old Seaview did eventually surface about a month later, of course after we had received its replacement! It is illegal to feed fish, ducks, or any wild life critter in most of our parks here, probably because of the stupid things some people would probably try to feed them...

Hey the button underneath is actually the direction stabilization. If there are waves or wind, you can set the boat for direction forward, press the underneath button, and the boat will self-rejoin-the ahead path if something is trying to make the boat to go in another direction.. :)

Fish are easy to train as well as the turtles are too. Once they get used knowing the food is coming from that boat the minute they hear it they will be chasing it.

The reason why the fishing rc bait boats are slow is 1 not to scare the fish away and 2 when you put your hook bait and ledger in it if you when to fast you will sink the boat when you speed off lol. Not bad for a cheap bait boat though. Might just get one and it's about time someone came out with a cheaper model

watching your vids I got an idea and modified my power vee to carry my line out. Only a small strip of balsa, no springs or anything, just run boat out, give slight tug on rod, sinker goes over. I would buy every boat I saw if I could afford it, lol.
