Read our South Dakota guides: adventuresofaplusk.com/blog/category/south-dakota Check out South Dakota Tourism’s website to plan your own trip: bit.ly/southdakota-aplusk See the rest of our South Dakota trip: kzbin.info/aero/PLZKRTK1yCEM6Wn30wCYRfOJbPtjOh5p_v Safety is our #1 priority and we want to stress that this adventure, and all future adventures, will be done responsibly and with the health of others in mind. Here are the steps we are taking everyday, including in these videos: 😷Masks and face coverings. We wear these anytime we are near others outside and especially indoors. If we don’t have a mask on in a video, it’s 99% because there was no one around. ⏰ Exploring early. We normally start at sunrise anyway because of less crowds, but especially so with COVID. We have been starting our days before sunlight so we can limit our interactions. 🧼 Washing and sanitizing our hands, especially after touching anything outside of the van. 🚐 Being in the van 95% of the time when we’re not filming. The adventures we share are a small sliver of our lives. We are staying in the van all day everyday when working and the only time we leave is to do laundry, get gas, or go to the store. 6️⃣ Keeping our distance. We are trying to stay at least 6 ft from others, which truthfully isn’t always possible (and then we make sure we cover our face).

Wow, you guys were pretty good at that game. My knowledge of your presidential history is terrible but I think I have an excuse. But if we had similar with our Prime Ministers or Monarch's, I'd fail miserably! I loved the painting that was Adam's favourite too, but I liked how they'd taken inspiration for the orange moons from the cap on whatever that thing was stuck on the wall. Loved seeing a few bits and pieces from Berlin - that city's history fascinates me. I've jumped on our history department's trip taking students over there for the last couple of years (but obviously it's not happening this year) and it's just so mind boggling what happened when the city was divided into two! Can not wait for Badlands next episode, hoping it will bring back very distant memories for me ❤️
@AdventuresofAplusK4 жыл бұрын
Adam was MUCH better at the game than me lol! I used to know a song where you sang all of the president's names in order , but I can't remember it anymore! How cool to take students over there! We have heard that Berlin is such a fun city to visit and we hope to make it out there someday!

Part of the whole German wall connection 20 minutes north of rapid is Ft. Meade VA Hospital, but it was a calvary Ft. Back at the previous turn of the century up through WW2, during that war it was an internment camp for German soldiers. It is also right next to Bear Butte a native ceremonial site, and Sturgis the motorcycle rally fame, and centennial trail starts out there for a hard core hiking or mountain biking experience it is close 120 miles and doubt many could do it in one day on mountain bike.

@@AdventuresofAplusK glad you had a good time in the hills. I still remember when devils bathtub was a northern hills secret (cause I am old). First time I went i was about 10 in the very late 70s the water was about 12 ft deep and could dive off the higher cliffs. Or if you had been drinking bounce from cliff to cliff until you hit water hopefully. It filled with rocks about 15 years ago when a large Boulder got stuck in The slide.

Hello from Los Angeles! Just want to comment on Indian lunch buffet, you pay a fee and it is all you can eat with different types of curries and other side dishes like naan, rice, dessert, salad..... usually the only thing not included is mango lassi :) Highly recommend it when restaurants can do dine in safely again!

❤️❤️ What are some of your favorite spots in Rapid City?
@KatMerrill4 жыл бұрын
@@AdventuresofAplusK I was born there and spent all my summers and Christmases there till i joined the Army. It is the hidden jems you should see. Like the overlook at the RV campground right outside Rapid city on the 4th of July, the drive through the pigtails heading toward trout haven where all the cabins are, the wildflowers blooming in spring thaw heading out toward Mt Rushmore. But also the museums in Rapid, the Lakota and the journey museum or just walking in storybook island for the memories of the stories told to us as kids if you head south from there got toward Hot Springs the mountain views are breathtaking

do you also know one of the most haunted hotels is right in downtown Rapid and right off that you will graffiti ally where people can show their artwork. And I love Black hills Bagel kind of biased my brother makes the bagels

Great video. I've been to Rapid City a number of times, but I was young, and a. I didn't care about some of this stuff, and b. some things have changed. I have been to that Norwegian chapel, and that is really cool. I sometimes get it mixed up with the smaller version in Epcot center. That Indian food looked off the CHAIN. And the game of presidents y'all were playing was so cool. As a fellow videographer, I'm curious, what time do y'all get up in the morning to capture some of these shots with no body there?
@AdventuresofAplusK4 жыл бұрын
The Indian food was off the chain! Soooo good! And the presidents game is very fun-highly recommend it to test your presidential smarts! We typically start shooting right before sunrise to beat the crowds (and on this day, beat the heat). For this day I think it was around 6 AM 😬😴 It’s worth it though!

I went to college in Rapid City. I think you would have enjoyed the dinosaur museum on the SDSM&T campus. The Black Hills Institute in Hill City is also a great place to learn about dinosaurs. If you go to Hill City, be sure to eat at the Alpine Inn. Cheap steak dinner and desserts that are worth the trip alone. Glad you got to see Stav Kirke (Chapel of the hills).
