"He has a vibe, that nobody else has". I grew up listening to this music as it came out, in the UK, great times. Love your reactions anyway, but especially to T.Rex and the late great Marc Bolan! This song was no.1 in the UK for 6 weeks. Marc and T.Rex were absolutely massive in the UK for about 2-3 years from 1971-1973

I live in the States. This came out when I was in middle school. Always, always thought they were a one-hit wonder. Then I found out otherwise when T-Rex was inducted into the US’s Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Not just any old band gets that honor. Then I began researching. And was blown away. What an incredible band, Marc Bolan was iconic. Had such a huge influence on so many legendary artists. The inventor of Glam Rock. It took me over 45 years to learn this.

Marc Bolan said often that his favorite song of his own was “20th Century Boy”, and I’d have to agree. If you ever go to a wedding in the UK you’re guaranteed to hear it played when they want to kick the party into high gear.

I've have three songs by three different artists that I know you'll love. 1. Brenda Lee "If You Go Away". 2 Potliquor "Cheer". 3. The Kinks " 20th Century Man". All are available on KZbin. The 1st two have never been reacted to so they would be great for you to introduce. Brenda Lee's is a beautiful tear-jerker. Potliquor's is very upbeat with great vocals, drums, and horns. This was the performance that launched Glam Rock. This was on the UK BBC's showcase "Top of the Pops" programme. A makeup artist put glitter tears on Marc's cheeks, and the rest is history!

I remember sitting in front of the TV as a very impressionable 6 year old when this came on. I refused to get my hair cut and as it got longer i twisted it in my fingers until I managed to get a few corkscrew curls. I'm 56 now and still love and miss this man.

Jeepster, Ride A White Swan, Telegram Sam all great T.Rex songs from this period when they were the most popular band everywhere except the U.S. The first band I bought an album of Electric Warrior and continued to follow until Marc died in 1977. They were innovators in their time and their music has aged amazingly well.

Do you know how lovers have ‘their song’? This was my parents song, before I was born. Every now and then they’d feel a bit romantic and play this on the record player when I was growing up in the early 80s and dance to it, like they did when they were young and falling in love. This used to embarrass me as a teenager but, in hindsight, maybe I wouldn’t exist without this song.

The Slider was the first album i every bought as a kid. Heard the title track on Boeing 707 on way to Hawaii with my folks for vacation. Captivated by Marcs sound while looking out window at the clouds over Pacific. Must have been about 12 years old at the time.

Marc Bolan Guitarist, Singer, Songwriter and above a Poet. His poetry really shines through on the album Futuristic Dragon (Yes and I Do Mean Yes, if you know you know). Taken from us far to young just before his 30th Birthday, tragic. Ride a White Swan, 20th Century Boy, Jeepster, Get It On (Bang A Gong), Telegram Sam all and many more just iconic.

At this time T.Rex was the favrite Band in europe. In 1971 it was my first live act I see here in germany but i was more impressed about the opening band "Status Quo" and they`re best song was "tune to the music" at this time. But T.Rex has got me some girls because I had locks and really long hair like Marc Bolan and this was the best (for me) of the concert I remember;-))
