They had so many great songs, but classic rock radio only plays one T. Rex song: “Get It On (Bang A Gong)”. I used to listen to a radio station in the UK many years ago which plays so many of their hit songs. That’s how I discovered so much of their music.

Love this track. Always takes me back to when I saw Bowie at the Milton Keynes Bowl. He played this over the PA after his show ended and the whole crowd filed out arm in arm and hand in hand singing along 'La la la la la la la'. Epic moment. Marc Bolan is a legend. Great songwriter, and he and David Bowie were good friends. I always appreciated that nod of respect from Dave (who I saw live 6 times). What an era that was.

Can't overestimate the impact that Marc Bolan had on music at the time. And can't help but wonder what he would have achieved if he'd been with us longer. A couple of T-Rex songs feature in the movie 'Billy Elliot' which you should *definitely* add to your movie channel if you haven't seen it (you won't regret it).Anyway, the tracks are, 'I Love to Boogie' & 'Cosmic Dancer.' Both great songs for different reasons.

Around 1971, T Rex were HUGE in England but most Americans just didn't get it. They had one big American hit with "Get It On (Bang A Gong)" but that was it for them in this country. The only big acts from the British glam rock movement to crack America were David Bowie, and to a lesser extent The Sweet and Mott The Hoople. T Rex and Slade only had cult followings in the USA.

This is the classic performance, from the BBC's weekly pop programme Top of the Pops, where Marc Bolan "invented" Glam Rock simply by putting some glittery make-up beneath his eyes! (The make-up was his stylist's idea). Typically, the Beeb wiped the master tapes but luckily this performance survives because it was used on German TV who were much better at maintaining an archive. The dancers are TOTP's resident dance troupe Pan's People who would usually perform when an artist was unable to appear in the studio but also did extras like this. T Rex performed Hot Love for a second time on TOTP and that also survives. Pan's People also appear again, this time not in costume, leading a group of audience members.

I love Marc Bolan and T Rex. It takes me back to my teenage years and all the great music we enjoyed back then. He was very talented and it's just so sad that his life was tragically cut short. Gotta love those lyrics, though - 'Well, she ain't no witch And I love the way she twitch' and 'Well, she's faster than most And she lives on the coast'. I read somewhere that he was more interested in whether they rhymed than if they made sense. I don't know how true that is, but it's a great song and a great grove and it was a hit in the charts here too giving him his first No 1 😊

You guys really are my favourite reactors! I would recommend any and all T.Rex songs, but my personal suggestion of what to eventually react to - Sniff ‘n’ the Tears - Drivers Seat, a great song from a great album 😊

You got that summer vibe. The band at the Holliday camp my family and I used to go to every year when I was a kid used to play this. It will always remind me of Selsey on the south coast. Big nostalgia trip for me, so thanks. ✌️♥️🇬🇧

Ha! Right, soon after they reacted to the Divinyls they should react to "RELAX" by Frankie Goes to Hollywood! IF they do react to that one, I do hope they react to the 'LAZER Beam" one, the cleaner version video original of that song, and not the other original version which would be considered too risqué for them to watch. I never watched it before until someone else reacted to it. Surprised me big time! Jay and Amber MIGHT blush a lot! We shall have to wait and see.

Great recommendation! Relax should definitely be on their list. It's such a banger! Laser version is indeed the best for the channel. Both the official video and the Body Double video are too suggestive!

Check out "Metal Guru". A couple more songs similar to this one are "Celebrate Summer", "Ride A White Swan""Sing Me A Song", "Love Drunk". He has some strange lyrics in quite a few of his songs, one is a simple yet catchy song is "New York City". I'd love to see Jays face on that one-lol. I know the story on it but it would be fun watching you two hear it and wondering what it's about.

Great 70s band, you've not done The MARMALADE yet, "Reflections" and "Baby make it soon" both good tunes. Also PICKETY WITCH , songs "Same old feeling" and "Sad old kind a Movie" ❤

"Reflections" kills me every time I hear it. "I See the Rain" is another great Marmalade song.
