Make both little rooms into one big pantry! Also put a door into the laundry area from the pantry ( pocket doors are a great option to cut down on noise, while still giving you easy access) you won't regret making that pantry as big as possible! Think down the road a few years with multiple children helping with food prep😊 best wishes!

Agree, one larger pantry with walkway to laundry room. Lots of electrical so you can have lowers for storage and counters for appliance. Coffee station, baking station etc. upper or open shelving.

********RACH!!! What if you put a door in the current laundry room to the new laundry room so you have easy access to the washer if it goes out of balance. I have to run upstairs quickly when it happens to me. You can put a counter with lower cupboards along the left wall and keep your existing microwave in there.

Love the idea of having all your kitchen paraphernalia in the big cupboard. I saw a great idea on another vlog. Mixer food processor toaster and the like were on a work top round the “pantry” under the counter were two deep drawers for saucepans and baking tins. Another two deep drawers had mixing bowls and attachments for machinery on the counter. Then above counter were to the ceiling cupboards. For cookery books, glasses , travel cups water bottles. Etc only you know what you. We’d to store in the cupboards. Also a vegetable basket on the counter or could actually be in a drawer With your food in the next door pantry that will leave your counters clear for minimal items and decor which you love doing decor. Just a thought. I love the house and think it will suit you so well.

Old laundry rm converted to butlers pantry. Open shelves cabinets below , using countertop for coffee bar and baking counter. Mount a shelf for microwave and toaster/oven on back wall . Keep right-hand side empty for trash, recycling and toddler / child standing stool for the younger girls. Bonus hooks for aprons, and measuring cups & spoons and other child friendly tools and stencil shapes so they all learn what goes where. I know it's a lot to make it your own home, so excited to watch this unfold. Laundry room hanging bar is priceless. Remember enjoy the process😊

Just an idea, that storage room is fairly roomy. I'd move the wall further into the storage room, deepening your pantry. Also if you do upper and lower cabinets, you can utilize the countertops for all your small appliances. You can never have enough storage space in a kitchen. ♥

I love the idea of relocating the washer and dryer. Why not move the microwave to the new area where the washer was, then you won't have to replace it. You could do cabinets in the bottom and then shelves, or cabinet with glass up above. I'd find what you have left of store, and then let that dictate what you do.

I think it would be really nice to have .. The laundry I agree being to loud especially you trying to catch up on laundry trying to hear the kids and if you move it to the storage room you want hear it nor see dirty laundry.. If it’s by kitchen is gonna interfere with doing your videos and make things limited.. I really think you would be way happier with laundry away from kitchen were you guys are at 90% of your time in kitchen living area .. just a thought ..Love your New Home thanks for sharing ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️💗💗💗

Looks great. I'd find a hutch top that compliments the bottom piece and wall mount it. If it had glass it would keep your dishes clean, open shelving is dusty. I love the dea of enlarging the pantry through the back storage room. You will still have enough room for your washer'dryers. What about recycling? That could go into the pantry. On wheels to get it to your garage easier. Pull out shelving in some of your pantry and don't forget you can hang some storage from the ceiling in there too.If you bake frequently I'd make room for huge flour and sugar storage containers. And keep things you use most where you can reach! The small area where the microwave is would make a great coffee/beverage center. Or a baking center where everything is at your fingertips.Have fun, can't wait to see what you do.

Oh Rachel you are amazing. I hope Brad appreciates just what you are doing for him to be able to realise his wants. I wish you had been able to get to the house when it was more complete and ready to just unpack and live. Anyone with even just one child knows what a challenge all this is. I think you should make the two small rooms one big one pushing it right back into the behind storage so you don’t have to walk through the long wooden room to get to the utilities. a large open butlers would provide you more flexibility and your microwave can fit there with heaps of storage. Have uppers and lowers no doors even with big benches some walls just open shelving space. You could have a euro laundry with sliding doors to cover machines. It would be huge and amazing. Have another sink and prep area in there too. Maybe a second fridge. I feel for you so much what an incredibly overwhelming situation. Your resilience is incredible and if you did snap at Brad only once then you are even more of an incredible mama wife and CEO of a domestic house hold and RV manager. So sorry he gets his feelings hurt and thinks of divorce comments when you have done so much for him. How you are expected to live there with no laundry no working kitchen boxes everywhere and no help is just beyond me. Especially with sick babies and 3 others under 5 whilst Brad goes straight back to work! If he giggles or makes another negative comment my goodness. How about Rach I appreciate you thank you for being so understanding and amazing. You are such an wife and mum. Recognition

I'm sure that there are some people who can cut your counter down a little bit so that the range will fit in the right place in the kitchen . I would put shelving in the utility room to store day to day tools, extra paint, etc. I would would put both washers and dryers in the storage room. You could always add a shelving unit/hutch/cabinets for any of your laundry needs. I would compine the lemon pantry with the laundry room in the kitchen. You can have one side as open shelves for food storage and the other side as lower cabinets and a counter top. Add outlets and you can plug in your microwave and other appliances. Maybe even a deep freezer. We buy everything in bulk so we need an extra deep freezer.

1. Moving the W/D to that storage area is a great idea. Too noisy for right next to the kitchen. 2. On the countertop issue... I'm a retired remodeling PM in Ohio. The best solution is get used to that drawer not opening. Believe it or not, this happens more than designers like to admit. An extended style should have gone into that corner by that base cabinet to allow for the depth of the stove knob. They cannot take your countertop off to take offsite and cut. It's a huge liability. If they do, you will have to sign a waiver. If they cut inside they still cannot guarantee no damage will occur and you might still have to sign a waiver. Either of those options will more than likely cost upwards of 1K. They might suggest recutting the piece and that is even more expensive. If they do, make sure they get a slab from the same lot, consecutive slab numbers so it will match. Good luck!

You have probably thought of this already, but I will suggest it anyway. Pick an area that can be gated off and remove the boxes and anything dangerous and put the kids and ample safe toys in there. Hopefully pick an area that is in the hub of where you are working, so you can talk to them, they😊 can see you and you them. You can even let one of the older ones out, one at a time to, "help" you if they would like. Probably w a timer, so all of them will know when their time is up and it is the next child's turn. Maybe to color or play w toys that can not be in the gated area. All my kids are grown now, but we moved a good 30 times w the 5, eventually 6 of them, so I am well aware of how difficult it can be. It feels overwheming right now, but you will be organized and settled before you know it. You already have a great start w the majority of the beds already set up. Best to all of you. Debbie

Lower cabinets for storage and countertop with outlets for small appliance usage. If you can add a sink even better. You can run your blender and clean it up all in your "appliance shed" Uppers for more storage. This keeps all those things, like instant pot, air fryer, blender....off the main kitchen counters and allows it to look much less cluttered. I wouldn't want a door from the pantry/storage into the laundry. To me that would be a waste of precious wall space for more storage, plus with two washers and dryers to hook up, the other storage room would seem too cluttered with multiple doors into it.

First the house is gorgeous and I can already tell it's going to be amazing once you get settled and ready turn it into your home. It would have been awesome if Carrie had been able to be at the house for the first few days or week to help with the kids so that you could focus on unpacking and figuring things out. I like that you have an actual dining room which can be used multiple ways for family dinners or for entertaining and holiday celebrations. I would do the laundry room in the storage room so that the noise of them running doesn't transfer into the girls room. You can add a folding area and/or a place to iron clothes along with locking cabinets to store laundry and cleaning products and other things you don't want the kids getting into. Keep the microwave and install it in the new pantry. I would put lower cabinets on the bottom which would give a bit more storage space and allow you to install the microwave properly. You can store any appliances like crockpot, airfryer, in them along with things you may not want the kids getting into. The magnetic baby locks are amazing and you can turn it off by flipping a switch as kids get older. Just don't let them know where you keep the special magnet opener. Depending on how much space is actually in the bigger pantry you can have a section with the cabinets and countertop and then have open shelves in the rest or a combination of open and closed. The smaller more shallow pantry could be used for your baking supplies and have the stand mixer, toaster, coffee and tea station. Though you might have another area where you can have the coffee station station. Especially since you have a wet bar. You can even add a wine cooler in the wet bar or in the big pantry. Get one of those white doors with a frosted glass panel in the top that has the word pantry etched or painted on the glass. I can't wait to see how you transform the kids playroom/school room. The built-in shelves will be awesome for storing and organizing your teaching materials and supplies. Bins that you can label are a must have. Some with lids will help to keep items that need to stay together. You can add doors on some or add a storage unit that locks to keep items that you don't want the kids to get into without supervision. Sometimes you might need separate work stations for the children as they work to reduce distractions. They will definitely need to help keep the area picked up and organized instead of pulling out bins and toys and dumping them on the floor and leaving it there for you to pick up. You will need to create a schedule for how you want the school day to go along the daily routines, rules for school time and playtime . Teach them a cleanup song to get them to help clean and put toys and other things away and give them different jobs and responsibilities appropriate for their age and abilities. The use of color and engaging items on the walls are just as important as the materials used for teaching and learning, but there needs to be a balance so that they don't become a distraction. You will need to take in account the different learning styles for each child because some need more quiet and space than others especially when doing independent work or anything that they need to focus on. Just so you know some kids thrive in homeschooling and being taught by a parent and others don't. Many parents discovered this the hard way during lockdown and distant learning days before they could go back full-time. Look for other homeschooling groups in your area because they can be a great resource for navigating your way for the first time. Plus playdates and field trips as a group can sometimes be cheaper than going with just your children. A great way to meet new friends for you and your children. I saw on Instagram that you were putting the kids clothes in bins in the cabinets in the family room instead of in their bedroom and I was a bit confused especially since they have good sized closets and room for a dresser in each room? Have you considered putting an opening from the living room where the front door is into the family room and kitchen area? It just seems like it's a bit awkward layout. Guess we'll see how it works as you get more settled. I already love the house and the changes made so far. The buffet is gorgeous.

If you use countertop appliances like slow cooker, air fryer, toaster etc, I would have countertop or at least decent shelving to store/use the appliances in the pantry - if that’s something important to you!

Beauriful New home . I love the buffets the color is so pretty. I would make a huge pantry. And put the laundry in back were you showed. With a folding table shelves for storage. And a door. You have alot of neat things cant wait to see it finish. You look so pretty with being a busy mom. Prayers for the twins its a hard time ❤. Thanks for sharing

Too bad you don't have the help that would really come in handy to open all those boxes up and get stuff put away. But it just takes times and yes I agree that room should be used as a pantry shells. Maybe if you have the room to put in a counter especially on the side where you're gonna. Put the washers and the dryers that would help you fold your laundry have some shelves in there too for your soap and Whatever else you need for your washing machine and dryer take care. My friend can't wait to see how you're doing next time from Colorado.😊

Why don't u break down the wall next to ur current pantry and make it a big pantry. Do a counter in there and put ur coffee station inside as well.

ONE BIG PANTRY WITH FLOOR TO CEILING SHELVES..... I'm pretty sure you'd have less storage space with cabinetry

My suggestion is upper cabinets with countertop-we had this in our first home, had this and it was great to store extra food on the countertops, when you had parties, such as, cakes, buns chips etc.

Love love love seeing your new home! I can’t wait to watch you all renovate it and make it perfect for your family. I’m in the process of painting our tiny 3rd bedroom. With 4 kids 6 and under. One is a newborn. And only that one small project is overwhelming! Hang in there. So much fun to come! Also side note, the label game for your kids was so creative! You are so very thoughtful with your children. It’s inspiring! 💞from KY

The only think I would be worried about is the trees so close to the house. But if they are in good health should be ok.
