Yah that mom best friend thing happens in my community and church too. I have kids their kid's ages, but I am way older than them so they don't see me as a peer. It is a little upsetting and sometimes lonely, but I have decided I am good company, I like myself, and I like just hanging out with my family. That is all that matters anyway!

Kim, give yourself credit, you went through a major Hurricane, the clean up, Wolfgang‘s birthday party and Halloween, all that is a lot. I went through what you were talking about Mom’s social calendar and I was always excluded, but I had my girls in their activities and actually I didn’t even have time to do what they did, but it was fine, I just love spending time with my girls taking them to their activities, etc. Kim you do so much with your kids, great Mom and you keep us Entertain also I just love when you post videos, thank you for being a friend❤️

I have felt the being left out piece, but in the times that I have been in a group of moms, especially ones like "omg heyyyyyy", it made my skin crawl. I now value the quality way over quantity mindset and I would not partake in those groups if asked. ❤❤ You have a beautiful family, and we are always here cheering you on ❤

I decorate for thanksgiving after Halloween, I just throw out jack-o’-lanterns in the woods, put the Halloween stuff away and bam thanksgiving with some pumpkins. Lol thanksgiving is special to me because it was my dads favorite holiday he passed away when I was 15 so I feel like I have to do something special for him, his birthday sometimes falls on thanksgiving too.

Hey Kim! just an idea for Elanor's window seat. Get a 4x1 kalax unit and have it horizontal under the window. you could get a couple more and have them vertical at the sides if there's room. You'll be adding storage too! Some cushions and customize those things with draws, doors and dividers. you could also add trim and 2x4's around the edges to give it that built in look. Love from the uk!

I am so thankful my husband is a jack of all trades. He's fabulous at building furniture and a great mechanic. He custom built our walk in closet at our old place, dressers and all. So far in this place, he's almost finished the first bedroom with built ins up in the attick. We're currently a family of 5 on 1 income. As much as he wishes we could hire someone to do the remodeling, we just can't afford it. He has to do it, even of it takes 3 or 4 times longer. 😂😂😂😂

With Meredith's birthday, can you have your older two girls sit at tables and act like the beauticians? They can paint nails, maybe do hair to the simplest ponytails. First year our family of 4 coordinated Halloween outfits and it was our boys idea, LOL 😆 we were characters from movie Napoleon Dynamite! My oldest was Napoleon, youngest Pedro, my husband was Rex from Rex Kwan Do and I was Deb! It was the best! We had a blast making all of the parents cite movie lines.

I’ve been living for 5 years in my current home, we are not even close to finishing with decorating 🤣 we didn’t get our current book self in our living room until a year ago and just because my toddler was mobile and I needed to hide plugs remove our tv sky box from the floor and a place to put her toys and books 😅. This year as she understands a bit more Christmas we are finally getting a mantel for the fire place 😂. And until yesterday we didn’t even made our home office half presentable!! Not even finished but presentable and tidy 😢!! We shovelled together some drift furniture and some pieces we had and (I must say has turned up decent) We have not even put lights on our patio after all this time. We are just doing as we can afford. A home is constantly evolving, I just changed today some vases around the house to suit the new environment for example, until today I just old ones or pieces I just had to fill in.

Yes Kim! I have definitely felt like I’m not in with the “cool moms”. I did volunteer to be classroom parent for my 3rd grader this year though. It’s hard to balance everything. But true friends will always see the fun, nice and hilarious person you are! We can be Mom friends!!! ❤

Growing up, family themed costumes weren't a thing. We just scrounged around closets wearing whatever we had; the younger ones wore the costumes the older ones grew out of and the older ones got really creative. We have never looked back at pictures and thought anything but good thoughts, remembering fun times, and thinking how amazing my Mom was when it came to face painting. My own kids never wore matching costumes and always had big ideas for individual costumes and I never felt a bit if guilt for that. You gotta give yourself a break, also you're not the only parent in the house. Next year, you should just ask each kid what they want to be and let them choose the costumes. No one needs to match. It's ok.

Great video. Several yrs ago we used to make an Amish bread that really tasted more like cake. It had peaches in it. We had to feed it for so many days and bake. It made several loaves and you could freeze them. The hurricane destroyed the corn maze here where the school takes the kids only certain places to trick or treat. We had a similar thing called “Amish Friendship Bread” that people would share the “starter” and you kept it in the fridge and fed it. It was a cake-like bread and really delicious.

Self talk is SO important! As moms we lose ourselves so much…we do the best we can wich is beautiful and amazing, we are literally the coolest creations. I can name 100 things about me that are different since having kids (mind & body). That alone is a reason to be proud cause we are doing a great job taking care of our children. You know Kim, I have 6 children and during those school (i used to call them, demands) request for my time are just that, a request. I found that I helped out the most when the older children were smaller, easier to do, I would work it with drop off's and such. But in the end, I wished I'd have put my toddlers needs before the school/kindy/church needs because we don't have those years for very long. You're doing your best. It's a false belief that we have any more time on our hands when our baby gets to school because we will then have teens, college, driving lessons, dating etc., . Enjoy things now and go through each stage with gratitude. If you want to volunteer or join a coffee out with girls do it! but don't commit, but enjoy the day to what you can't realistically do. NO more mother's guilt.
