So stoked to be back in africa with family! Jbay what a dream! The next day was 6-8ft and absolutely firing john went psycho on the rail! So the board was a little weird thanks for the comments saying it looked good but i felt a little restricted on rail, maybe because i was surfing with john, ethan, and jordy ahaha surfing with them makes you feel very slow they are so good! The board is a slater designs but with a tokoro model i guess i realized they put the slater thing into other shapers models? Pretty cool! Anyway thanks for enjoying the video! More on the way!

@@NathanFlorence Always pay attention to the ⭐Captain when he comes on the speaker to explain why the flight was delayed. If he says it's a "airplane mechanical issues" (like he did on your flight) and you miss your connecting flight the Airline has to pay for a hotel for you & food at your connecting airport!!!. If the fight was delayed for weather then your are on your own to pick up the hotel/food tab at your connecting airport. Many times when you get to the connecting flight ticket counter to rebook the airline will not offer you a hotel you will have to speak up and tell them what the Captain explained as to why the fight was delayed "airplane mechanical issues" and that you want a FREE Name Brand hotel close to the airport (like a Marriott, Hilton etc within 15 mins of the airport). They will try to stick you in a cheap run down hotel 30+ mins away SAY ((NO)) firmly. push for a name brand hotel "due to safety issues" even if it's more then 15 mins away. Especially in a place like Newark etc. See if you can get a hotel that is part of the Airport (like many airports have including Newark) As for you lost bags. After so many hours/day the airline must give you money to purchase clothing. In this case you will call the airline lost bag department 800 # and ask them about paying for new clothing. They will offer you a low amount but, you should negotiate by saying "it's expensive here". For instance in J-Bay you would need a wetsuit to surf, clothing, jacket, under garments etc and board rental to start your planned vacation. Be nice to the airline rep on the phone...when you are you get more $$ if you are rude to them well you're not going to have much luck getting a good amount to purchase the things you need. If your flight is delayed more then 3 hours (other then weather) the Airline must provide food for you while you wait in the Airport...example no crew for your fight, mechanical, enbound flight was delayed (other then weather) etc. They will give you a food vulture that you can use at any restaurant in that airport. USA domestic airline has great passenger rights. International not a good but, still worth knowing your rights. Airlines have different passenger rights but, also in the US Congress pushes for passenger rights. Look up the airline you are flying on with the words "passenger rights". Print it out and bring it on the plane with you. I have been on Ski trips where the airline paid over $500 for new clothing...new ski pants, hats, ski gloves and then day/dinner clothing when the bags were delayed for days. Same with flying to Maui. The last thing you want to do is shop when you are on a surf/ski/vacation trip right when you get there but, if that's the option then go shop get it done so you can enjoy your vacation. When you go to the Airline "lost bag" department at the vacation airport ask them if they have an Free "overnight kit" which usually is like a first class kit with t-shirt, shaving cream, razor, tooth brush/tooth paste etc that way you dont have to spend your own money. It's free so ask for this..they might not have any left but, still ask. International Corporate pilot here who flies a ton of International Airlines for change crew.

How good is it to see Nathan surfing on the rail, and a normal surfer like Zoard having a crack at J Bay. Really brings home how difficult Supers is to surf, and how incredible the CT guys are. Like Nate ripped off some solid carves, but that's different to stacking up 6 of the things going faster than fast down the line, floating sections to keep in touch... I feel like we take the ridiculous standard of pro surfing for granted - we expect Nate to charge and make such biiiiig deeeeep barrels and we expect John, Felipe etc to just rip any wave to shreds, cos they do it every day

Done the direct flight from la way too many times now that I’m a bit older I stop for two days in Europe on the way the price of flight is almost the same Amsterdam highly recommend for a recovery day from flying so much waves looked cooking that key hole is such a pain to find on your way in for the first time it took me and my cousin like 25 mins to find it with the help of a local ❤
