Whatever the Applebee's drink's appeal comes from is the sugar heavy unique syrup they just combine with Captain Morgan's, it's probably something only they have and not in stores. Your recipe is significantly far off so it's not at all the same drink anymore even if it is better. That's the challenge here, still getting the original artificially manufactured taste distinctly there but enhancing it.
