The wicker structures are made by local artist Trevor Leat who is amazing. Most of his art ends up being burned in ceremonies. A most evanescent art! There is usually a local Wickerman festival in the area, not this year of course.

Hello Ladies, The "Private Uncle" plate was made using the M.I.G welding process, is most likely on "hot rolled" mild steel plate and so is probably less than 30 years old. To me this makes it super interesting as this is exactly the sort of thing we used to knock together to tease each other back when I worked in a steelworks in the 80s-90s, unless there's some other explanation "Uncle" was probably a facetious nickname for a grumpy older worker... Love it... Keep up the good work

I just love to watch you work, Gail, it's so relaxing. BTW I think you are correct about the metal plate, I believe it is a 'G' like you said, not a 'C' & that crosspiece has fallen off. Ungle is actually a very old surname in Britain. It makes perfect sense that the piece was a combined nameplate & no trespassing sign for someone's property.

Hi lassies so love your videos love everything you find love everything you make, Gail your copper leaf is stunning and the work put into the things you make is dedication and love, wow that's a lot of love just there's 😅and the blame goes to you for the state of my house any excuse to watch what you're upto with a cup of tea, really weird thing but I again "love it" I found a baby oak tree no taller than two inches last evening when weeding flower bed which will be nurtured and the first video I see today is with your copper leaf, my little tree couldn't have arrived at a better time and your copper leaves make it even more symbolic 🌻🍄🥀🌳

I must admit I've sometimes thought the crafts I've seen at craft fairs etc seemed a little expensive, but it's not until you witness the amount of work/time that goes into something like this that you realise the effort that was made. Fantastic.

Hi Muddy Angels, I would like to say, those copper oak leaves are incredible, but I would love you to do a little experiment: Pop one in a dish and soak it in vinegar to produce a beautiful "verdigris patina" on it's surface. If it works well and once you have rinsed the vinegar away and dried it, a coating of clear lacquer can be applied to prevent it staining clothes. I think a nice green patina would look so natural on an oak leaf! :) Big hugs for you both, Louie Xx
