The floors are amazing! The light grey cabinets will hide dirt more than white and if you want to lighten things up change the counter but I love the combo now! Congratulations on your home!!

We don’t have basements where I live (Texas) so when I picture one it’s like the movies: dark and scary! But this one is not at ALL like that! It’s like an extra floor of the home, so beautiful and spacious!

Hayley Chavez I’ve had 2 basements in my life and while they weren’t dark and scary, they had like 2 windows total. Like you said, hers is just like another level to her house. Love it!! So dreamy. Also I had no idea Texas doesn’t have basements!

It is her house, so respect her choices we understand that a child that size shouldn’t have that big of a room, but I also agree with her putting him in that room because she he’s a baby and needs more space to crawl and learn rather then being tied up to a smaller room. Also if you think about it her daughter has more privacy with that room because of the bathroom and closet.

Beautiful house! Your idea of making that little storage space a kid’s area is perfect. We did that in a big closet under the stairs in a house we used to live in and our kids loved it. They thought it was so cool and actually recently mentioned they wanted that again haha.

Love it!! The bottom of the wall in the dining room is called wainscoting. We have it in our house too and I love it!

Cathrine Gilbertsson the only difference is, board and batten is more of the farmhouse style. Wainscoting is more traditional. It’s basically the style you choose.

It’s absolutely gorgeous! If you do turn that one little storage closet for the kids, you could take the door off and use a tension rod to hang a curtain instead! That way they can go in and out easily!
