I agree with Dean. Don't paint it black. Also, take one day at a time and one room at a time. If you start all over, it'll overwhelm you. The home looks great guys! Congrats, so exciting

Hiring a pest professional will help so much with mice. You need to find where they are coming in at and fix that. I live close to this area and you don’t have to “get used to it”. You can fix it. 1. Hire a professional 2. Fix the problem areas 3. Don’t leave any uncovered food out (containers, containers, containers) even food in bags. If they can chew through it they will. 4. The cat and dog will help too. Good luck. Your house is beautiful, I can’t wait to see more of it. ❤

We bought humane traps from Amazon, caught the mouse and relocated him near a river going through a golf course. He’s living the country club life now.

I have moved many many times across country Caelynn and Dean and the key to not losing your mind is just don’t let all the boxes overwhelm you..just do whatever you feel like doing and before you know it you will be all settled. What a gorgeous home and view. You definitely made the right decision to move. Thrilled for you both

I totally agree. I just moved 4 days ago. I was literally up for 48 hours. Ik it sounds insane lol but it literally took 4 days to get everything outta my apartment & up 3 flights of stairs to the new apartment. I'm still so sore & was exhausted. 48 hours, no sleep. Not very healthy. I didn't have a choice , I had to be out of my apartment & also couldn't miss but 2 days of work. It took 2 days to pack everything & 2 days to move & I'm not even close to unpacked yet. My back hurts soo bad, but it will be worth it. My new apartment is really cute but the move in general was exhausting. I didn't get a reading break, a movie break, nothing. It was non-stop for 4 days. Up for 48 hours nonstop. Paying for the movers to move my couch, beds, dresser, etc. was a day alone. Crazzyyyy. Lol. It's definitely worth it in the end.

I really appreciate you being mindful of the mice. Traps are really cruel though (I'm sure you didn't know). They usually don't kill the mice right away and they suffer. There are some really neat humane alternatives now and days. There are things called live release traps, but since you're in the mountainside you could hire a company to mouse proof your house. Critter Control is amazing and they offer prevention services.

Peppermint oil for the win to deter mice. MouseMix works wonders, it’s like dried ground up corn cob soaked in peppermint oil. I used small garden ‘bags’ used to protect small veggies or fruit. Couple tablespoons of mousemix, then placed where mice can get in, where droppings are found, etc. Fall/winter is when they’re moving in, unfortunately. I was able to eradicate them from the crawl space, garage, and greenhouse, without killing a one.

I LOVE the ACOTAR series! Book 2 is amazing, seriously wish I could reread it again for the 1st time. I haven’t read iron flame yet but I kept hearing mixed things so I should just go ahead and give it a chance since I enjoyed fourth wing. I love talking about books, so glad to see you enjoying reading as well! Congratulations on the move!

You are the sweetest and I love watching your vlogs! The office Dean arranged looks so good with all your pictures. House looks gorgeous and I love the view and setting. Can't wait to see you set it up over time. Semi-rural places do naturally attract lots of critters including mice but you don't have to live with them and shouldn't since they can contaminate food and spread illness. Hire a local company to come and find all the little holes where they are coming into house and patch them up with something they can't chew through, set more traps and also use deterrent spray with peppermint. Get a cat who is a good mouser! Having a cat and dog in the house will also deter field mice from wanting to come in because they will smell predators.

I love your book list! I'm having a similar book obsessed era, and am reading SJM's House of Flame and Shadow right now. I highly recommend listening to the audiobooks-- I do a ton of driving for my job and it makes the commute really something I look forward to. They work great for long drives or just listening while doing chores around the house. Either way, enjoy ACOTAR, I wish I could read the second book for the first time again! OMG so much fun. ❤ Enjoy your new home, it looks amazing!

I have experience dealing with mice (sadly). Those on my street who have dogs didn't have any mice. Those, like me, who don't have a canine friend, had to deal with the little critters. How to eliminate them? Go outside and search for even the tiniest cracks/holes which are entryways for mice. Check carefully around A/C pipes to the house and your dryer vent. Stuff every single one with steel wool or expandable foam. Looking for mice tracks in new snow really helps. Keep traps set up for insurance that you've got all the entryways plugged. I myself wouldn't want a cat killing mice in the house...where would the cat take its kill? Get some rest Caelynn...tomorrow will come whether you're tired or not.

Hire a professional to find where the mice are coming from otherwise it may be very difficult to get rid of them no matter how many traps you set. I've been there done that, so I know. In my case they ate through a PVC pipe inside the walls to get in. If you can't find where they're coming from get help. Good luck.

I think it’s crazy to take 5 hours to charge a car, what a so not thought out idea for electric cars. What are we going to do with all these dead batteries and so much time we could be doing something else. I understand the concept but it definitely was not well thought out. Congratulations on your new home, you guys are seeing the world and enjoying life so much. Cats will definitely be your best friend, they like peanut butter if your trying to catch them 🤩💛
@nancyc34316 ай бұрын
Haha. It doesn’t take five hours to charge a car - unless you want it to, then you can slow down the charging rate. I have an all electric vehicle with 90k miles and it’s never taken 6 hours to charge. It takes 20-50 minutes.

Caelyn I recommend you hire a professional to take care of your mice situation. I live at 7500ft and had terrible mice situations at home and at work. We literally trapped 300+ mice before calling in the professionals- we should have called them sooner. lol. I haven’t seen a mouse or poop since the professionals were called in. They usually make about three trips to set traps, etc. You don’t have to live with those disease filled critters!
@KLMA7206 ай бұрын
I'd definitely hire a company to spray. Probably needed a few times a year. Good luck. I couldn't deal with mice either. We have field mice sneak in the cellar when it starts to get cold at night and I found a baby once - 2" long and a had to call a neighbor to get it.

Girl you need to find out where those mice are getting in your house. If you don’t plug the holes, they keep getting in. Check your dryer vent too! I had one get in my house that way. I’m deathly afraid of them and they are so nasty! Good luck!

They have "live" traps for mice. U release them outside. Then u make sure u close all possible entry ways. Even the smallest of holes. Remember mice can make themselves as flat as a dime and fit into the smallest holes.

Why wouldn't you call pest control expert to figure out, where are the hidden holes that needs to be sealed for your peace of mind? It is puting off to even think you might have mouse running around your new place...Don't let to live a low standard place, for sure, it was Dean's idea, since he is careless, messy and a low maintance.
