I drove a truck for goin on 40 years. Everyday we had to do a pre trip every morning and post trip at the end of the day. I believe that anyone pulls any kind of trailers everyday or even periodically do a pre trip and post trip to make something did come loose or coming loose. Better safe than sorry.

Sensors are nice but they don't always work as imtended. Checking equipment often will serve you best in rhe long run. Doesn't matter what peice of equipment your talking about. I learned that lesson the hard way if the sensor would have worked that peoce of equipment wouldn't have neen down for two weeks waiting on parts including the new sensor.

You can purchase a Tire Pressure Monitoring System for your trailer. Used a lot of RVs and are wireless. May interface with the truck. Fairly inexpensive too.

When checking your trailer, be sure to pull the key on the trailer brake system. It should lock down the the brakes and should not allow the truck to move when placed in drive.

My ram is 9 years old...had 100 on it when I got it, has 169,000+ now. I rely on the computer...but ask specific questions during the oil changes. I'm thankful for the computer...but doesn't mean I don't check behind it at times. 🙂 However, to this point, the only "repair" I've needed was a sensor in a trans fluid line. I'm thankful.

I'm picky about the oil. I check it every single time before starting another yard before starting the mower. I've been in the back of the mower shop shooting the bull with the workers/people there and I've seen way too many mowers with ruined motors all over the oil.

You guys seriously are the best with striping. I deliver all over the Lehigh Valley in Pa (that's Allentown, Bethlehem, Easton and all the surrounding areas) and I've been searching all around on my daily drives for stripes that look as good as yours and there's not a place that come close! Heck there are only a handful I've seen that even bother to attempt to stripe, but they don't stand out very much.

@@Scott-pg3ut I was driving class a dry vans with my man while also booking the loads & handling the billing, but I no longer drive truck now that we've had our daughter. One of us has to have a set schedule with daycare and school and be close by in the event of one of the kids getting sick. So, these days I'm operating the company's Honda Civic lol. I spend half the day delivering meds/checking on patients and the other half as a pharmacy tech filling prescriptions. I do miss the truck, but also, rates right now are garbage and brokers take way too much for themselves. We put our authority on hold and he's just an o/o leased on for now because I couldn't work full time and book & bill for him too!

the thing after Scotty Kilmer stated being a mechanic some manufacturers are going away from dip sticks. that’s the dumbest thing i have ever heard. so if your mower or what ever needs oil how are you supposed to know? sure eventually the truck or car will tell you by the screen the way things are going probably with a sensor in the oil but as everything goes eventually will fail. so how much oil do you need to add. it’s the same with high mileage oil some say let 6,000 miles don’t wait that long. oil breaks down looses ability to lubricate owners have followed the book and the dealer ruined engine add only extra thousand over no more same with transmission oil keep it fresh. your diff oil change the rear end oil most newer gen vehicles require it every thirty thousand let say. why risk it. change your air filter and cabin filter if your vehicle has a cabin filter. usually behind the glove box door. engine air filters three oil changes. or inspect can’t see day light change buy a good’n don’t be cheap.

2:41 I still like to check, I like the reassurance, I check oil it everyother time I fill up with gas in my Personal car. It’s just a habit and when I’ve worked for companies that supplied me with a company car I always did and some of the company I worked for had an on site macanic and I’d just drive to them and have them do a inspection. But it’s still good practice to check all the lights, trailer connections if applicable, the wipes and so forth, i belive if you are a simi driver/ have a commercial driver license your required by law to check everything every time before and after you driver.

You’ll need something like a 2 x 4 or a brick or have a second person (family member, spouse, neighbor) help you out, or have a book and move your seat all they way up and have the book wedged into the seat and brake to press the brake pedal. Or just pull up to a fence or in a garage or building and use your three mirrors to check drivers side, passenger side and middle to check the third brake light. The couple Jiffy lubes around me just do it for free or like 3 bucks cash.
