Dear nova, You slow down faster if you don't press anything, going the opposite direction makes you drift way farther than just pressing nothing

That makes no logical sense and I'm pretty sure it's incorrect. Maybe if you don't thrust in the exact opposite way that you're trying not to go, but otherwise thrusting in reverse should slow you down faster than not doing anything. Besides, if inertia is a thing in this game, not pressing anything would just make you drift endlessly in whatever direction you were already going.

Actualy reg, when the damn owners are on you do slow down faster when you don't press anything because when the dampeners do it they use 150% of the normal thrust, more than you put out yourself, and it does a much better job of stopping you than you could ever do

Inertia is simple you keep moving for a little but in a no friction environment inertial dampeners are a must to keep from flying into infinity

Space Engineers...a really interesting game. First time around when I did a review on it back when it came out. I didn't like it at all. And now just started to play the game three to four days ago. I love it~ The Survival is where the fun is at. But anyways. I'm thinking of setting up an LP of this game on my channel but I kinda want to ask some viewers/fans of the game. What kind of style/challange should I go for? Making a single large ship, living off of a small ship with barely nothing. Not using random ships for resources. Or something random.

The ships aren't like cars, you don't need to be constantly accelerating to keep going. Get up to the speed you want then stop using your thrusters and turn off inertia dampeners, you'll save all your fuel.
