So far, the broken tape is my favorite because it looks like that was an area not only for the creator to add a bunch of lore, but also for them to just mess around and have fun in whatever engine they made this in like we're Woolly is just t posing or Amanda's neck stretchs way too far

In laymen's terms, the team decided to design the intro to the tape as if it were a KZbin Poop somehow made into VHS form while the rest of it is basically the tape's reality destroying itself. All while adding lore bits and, for some reason, making me laugh my ass off...at first, before making me feel sad by the end.

You know I had a theory that Wooly was actually an creation of hamlet (be it someone sent inside, or just another entity working for them) that was made specifically to keep Amanda from remembering too much or acting less like a friendly tv show character. i have a feeling that wooly is a person, but not sam. when you tell him you like the horror genre, you see flashbacks to the experiments (presumably), but you hear HIM scream instead of amanda. wooly could be an employee, or the other child actor who thinks it's better to play along so hameln won't hurt them. i just highly doubt he's sam since hameln "took care of him" to stop him from interfering with their experiments on rebecca. i don't think they'd put him in the same containment as her.

I don’t necessarily think Rebecca and the Demon are the same entity, but rather fused together. The entity obviously having more control usually, and piloting their physical form, making Rebecca behave erratically and teach kids terrible things so it can trap others. However, whenever Rebecca has strong emotions, or forms a connection with someone, she gains control of her new physical form.

Maybe it shows my age, but I remember using microfiche/microfilm machines to look up books at a small library, and the "lock boxes" you tried to use the keys on are likely the index card catalogue, which name every book at a library and have info like authors, publishers, years, editions, etc. Love old libraries! I think the possum is a recent missing child. The way that possum reacted to masked figures voice when you don’t stop him. It’s like a scared child. Could the possum be Jordan from the first game, cause Joanna said her brother went missing two years ago so maybe that is Jordan? And the way he was calling for Joanna proves that he still hasn’t full adjusted to the Amanda show like Wooly. And why the new demon we saw looked just like Wooly?

Neat little touch when you get to help fix stuff. At the beginning of the tape it’s still corrrupted (not as a bad as the first viewing but still pretty bad) but as you help Amanda fix stuff it gets slightly less corrupted like the tape is fixing itself. It even comes out the VHS player with a bandaid which I think is kinda cute.

Theory: What if Rebecca isn’t actually dead? From this sequel and the first game we assumed that Hamlet did a satanic ritual that killed Rebecca and put her soul into the video tapes as a Amanda but what if her body in the real world is somewhere being kept alive to be used to control the demon we keep encountering. When the masked woman destroyed one of the tapes that wasn’t Rebecca’s spirit but the tape is like a demon token of sorts that when destroyed weakens the evil that Hamlet summoned in their ritual.
