Love this instructor. So calm. And explains things. Nothing worse than an instructor that just shouts and gets at you. Being a learner driver is hard and scary!

@@forza223bowe5 it's absolutely true that seatbelts saves lives.. but if you are a driving instructor it makes much more sense to be able to move freely and avoid an accident then having your seatbelt on and don't have enough time to reach the steering wheel...

I’ve almost driven into a bollard and my instructor had to grab the wheel because I was so focused on the traffic and not looking at the road ahead! So important to realise everyone makes mistakes no matter how long they’ve been driving! Quick reactions!!

Can I just say I think that you are one of the best instructors out there and dealt with the situation very good. It was right explaining where she did go wrong however I would say that you didn't need to explain to the extent you did. She was aware of her mistake and probably felt slightly embarrassed after. That's enough to provent the same occurance. I think explaining it too much can knock her confidence for next time Tbh. That's only my opinion though. But you did deal with the situation very good... Well done

Bless Lauren I passed my test weeks ago and I still make mistakes, especially roads like that, well done for not getting flustered and continuing, really enjoy you're videos also you're a lovely instructor so nice, and patient, was just wondering if you could help me please I know you're not a mechanic ( or you could be lol ) but when my car is stopped fully at lights etc, it takes so long for me to drive off as I'm bringing the clutch up, just normally the way I always did in my instructors car, the car moved quicker was fine, yet the car I have it moves of very slow? I was told the clutch is to high up? could you or anyone here please, well if you understand what I'm trying to explain lol, could help me would be appreciated, it does be a bit dangerous at roundabouts etc as other cars are taking of 10mph I'm going about 1mph lol...

Julie M more gas?? of course slowly moving the clutch out but i had this issue in my actual instructors car and he assured me that you know, whenever my foot is on the clutch it doesn’t matter how much gas i put on, so long as my foot is on that clutch nothing can happen and only will when i release it slowly as of course that will prevent any jolts etc. my issue was also roundabouts and setting off quicker as well as its pretty much go go go when you can!x

Do you have any tip to do overcome driving anxiety? I passed a year ago but i don’t like driving. I got a car so i can become used to drive but i almost was involved in a deadly accident that made me want to stop driving . Now i don’t own s car anymore and i feel like if i don’t face it, the longer i will wait, the less likely i will want to drive again. Btw i don’t need a car since i live near central london

I remember on one of my lessons I completely missed a mini roundabout, my instructor slammed on his dual controls. I nearly cried. He just looked at me as if to say 'What on earth was that?' Thankfully though that the was only major mistake I made when learning to drive.

I had to change instructors due to my first one never having the right time available but they never touched either the wheel or brakes however my new one grabs the wheel all the time and it’s so frustrating because I never see any need for it and they never explain it properly to me... it just makes me miss my first instructor even more

Idk why it takes so long to finish driving school there in UK. I made 40 hours of driving with my instructor ( im from ROMANIA) in 4 weeks and then i passed all tests and now i drive with no problem at all. She made beginner mistake and i was her for a long time in ur channel. I tell you is better for people to make a lot of hours in a short period of time.

I found my test easier than driving with my instructor. I felt so much pressure because I knew I would have to see him again, and I am an anxious person, however with the instructor I felt like even though he was technically judging me, I felt no judgement. I passed, but I think another thing that helped was that I messed up and thought I failed early, so I felt no pressure.

An American unfamiliar with the location probably would have crashed on that junction, over there the same layout would have been configured as a regular T junction with stop signs or stop lights.

I passed in a manual so I might be a little biad. Driving in a manual is pretty easy once you know the car that you drive and their biting point when lifting the clutch. Manuals are more common in Britain since they are cheaper to maintain and insure compared to automatics.

Tartanhero13 I actually learnt in an Mercedes A180d, it's a great car to drive and helps the learner so much throughout the test; but most learners will get a crappy 1.0l or 1.2l petrol after which makes it harder since the Mercedes didn't have a traditional handbrake and you also only need to move off with the clutch... In a petrol it's a totally different story, which is why I think all learner cars should be small engine petrol cars...

That's not misleading at all, follow it round means that there is a bend coming up and you're staying on the same road.

I hate to say this but I think the theory test should be mandatory before the first lesson or at least within the first few hours. It would help learners with an understanding of road markings, signs and dangers to look out for. Good job on controlling the situation though and it was nice that you didn't give her shit afterwards which I think most instructors would of done..

The worst part of this isn't the junction part. It's the fact that they still insist on people feeding the wheel. It's actually more dangerous as a lot of the time, the corner can be far too sharp to make it round by feeding the wheel. Just an idiotic rule

I like to call this type of bend i.e. one almost identical to a side road left turn an ELBOW. A number of inexperienced drivers on the fens at night get caught out by this type of bend and the car needs a water recovery as the speeds are typically 60mph and a straight road for miles.
