Where I live driving instructors are required to not wear the seatbelt during lessons because it gives them full control of the vehicle, especially the steering wheel and indicators in case the learner panics and does something that could create a life threatening risk, Pin would've probably been safer stopping the exam especially because it was raining

@@MichaelCheng628 It does help actually, it's even one of the theory questions, the learner probably never drove a car before so they can panic and hold the steering wheel too hard towards the wrong direction, without seatbelts the instructor can lunge more toward the driver seat and have better control. I remember when I was learning outside of the driving school it was harder to correct the steering, the whole point of this is to help before an accident occurs as someone who has only a couple of hours of experience shouldn't be allowed to risk an accident in the first place.

Not sure how it works these days, but when I sat my test back in 2005 that would be a Dangerous and immediate termination of the test. _(I actually know someone who very recently had their first test terminated - they didn't say why, mind you)_ And IMO you always should move over to let traffic join from the left, if the lane next to you is clear and it's safe to do so. It's just good manners and several times I've had to adjust my speed on sliproads because it would create conflict with someone not moving over.

I'm failing to go back to gear 1 while holding a clutch and break at the same time. My body just hardened so hard in an way that I can't even explain then the car just switch off... I have a very serious problem I'm crying for help any trick anything that can help please 😭... Thank you 🙏

You haven't been driving long and in the beginning it's completely normal to feel stressed and overwhelmed, it took me several hours before I felt comfortable in the car and that'll just come naturally the more that you drive. Take things slowly and go through each step one at a time, in your lessons practice the changing of gears as if you were stopped at a light, it'll get easier the more that you do it, you'll make it into a habit to go into 1st gear with the clutch and break. It's easier said than done but try not to stress too much, the more that you panic that more difficult it will feel in the moment, wishing you luck!!

@@chrispop99 he’s not making any mistake, the rules are clear on a driving test, you shouldn’t make another vehicle alter their speed, it’s just good driving standards to be aware in that situation, a serious for it is quite harsh but Pin always goes harsh if it’s borderline, the learners know that, most examiners are more lenient but again, if you did that in an actual test after the roundabout serious they prob would give another serious

Is this representative of the actual length of a driving test?

no they are about 40 minutes
@mydogeatspuke2 жыл бұрын
Depends. If you drive as dangerously as demonstrated in this video, the examiner may call the whole thing off after a few minutes. They may even get out of the car and walk back to the test center. Otherwise no, it's usually 30-40 minutes depending on traffic. It flies by though.

Please, is a fail test recorded in the DSVA system? I mean does the next examiner know you have failed a test before?
@Drew-Dastardly2 жыл бұрын
I would be very surprised that they do this, because it is unscientific and will bias the examiner. But when you find out someone like Maureen Rees eventually passed her test then you can be sure the examiners are going to be strict to the rules and previous fails are not counted. I can also offer up my older brother who was self taught and dad taught and failed constantly. Often because his cheap auction car was completely unroadworthy and an instant fail. (This was the '90s). The car was actually criminal to be on the road. It was only when I took proper car lessons with an ADI and passed with flying colours on the first test that my bro realised the error of his ways and paid for proper lessons. His previous ludicrous tests were not held against him and he eventually passed.
@ellelka2 жыл бұрын
there would be no reason to. you can take your test however many times you need regardless of past failures. and some people might fail a lot but then improve drastically before the next attempt. I guess it's probably kept temporarily since you have to wait 10 days before re-taking your test but I highly doubt any instructor or examiner gets to see that information.

I think the bit about changing lane with the slip road was a bit harsh, on all my lessons I was advised not to do so, I do so anyway when I drive but on my lessons I was told not to.
@SparxTheDragonfly2 жыл бұрын
What was your instructors reasoning for that? It’s a good habit to get into, this is a tricky bit of road and could have been a minor for most examiners I reckon, but you are technically slowing another car down by not changing Lane

They tell you what you've done wrong when you take the test here. Seems strange they don't tell you at all where you live. Maybe you could ask the assessor if you fail again?

Hi there just a few queries about the eyesight test. Do you get 3 chances? If so what distance do they start you at (I know the minimum is 20m) as I struggle a little with Os and Ds Thanks
@outlawsgaming71132 жыл бұрын
It is nothing to worry about. I believe they may give you more than 1 chance if you mess up the first one.
@finbirch3722 жыл бұрын
With Os and Ds they usually give you some slack - usually though the eyesight test is a car in the carpark of test centre anyways so it's more than clear enough
@f1mac7342 жыл бұрын
You’ll get a couple of attempts but if you can’t read from the minimum which is 20m then you’ll immediately fail the test. Wear glasses if you need to.
@Kwan1942 жыл бұрын
They will start with an estimate of the 20m. However, if you are struggling, they will get a measuring tape to ensure that it is indeed 20m. If you can't read it after that, then you would fail. Practise them before your test. If you are struggling with those letters, speak to your instructor and potentially book an appointment with an eyesight practitioner to fix the issue. Even walking outside, try to read a vehicles number plate from a distance and once you can read it, count 27 steps before reaching the vehicle (as this is around 20 m). I was also nervous about this before my test but it really isn't something to worry about (as long as you can perform it before your test).
@DetectiveDeuche2 жыл бұрын
Go to your test centre early and look at the wall behind the back of the test centre, you'll see 3 number plates on the wall behind you and try remember the 3 because they'll choose one to make you read, I know thats not the correct thing to do but its what I did because my eye sight is fine but I struggle with O's and D's like you do so thats what I did
