This is the problem with autocracies and dictatorships. One man can take a whole country down the drain for no good reason.
@ChargedPulsar2 жыл бұрын
But it is the whole country that allows it to happen. Think about it. How can one man stop it, if the vast majority didn't want it? One way or the other, people are way things are. I can understand the disinformation and wrong education playing a big role in it. But still, if people want to know the truth, especially in 2022, they have access to it. They just don't want to, they are fine with the way things are. And a single man just represents the sum of all these ideals. Dictatorship automatically happens when someone yells at millions of people and when they all agree with it, one way or the other.

The colonel also said in the full clip that "Ukraine may soon have 1m troops armed with western weapons who are ready to 'fight to the last man'". @ramonpilgrim66232 жыл бұрын
@@dragons_hook I mean people fail to put things in context. Russia is up against an army that is the largest in Europe that also has been trained and armed by NATO for the past 8 years. This same army had held fortified most of eastern Ukraine for the last 8 years in preparation for this possible conflict. This army also has the help of the CIA and MI6 when it comes to intelligence and satellite imagery. That being said, Russia, while using one fifth of its standing army has demilitarized and currently holds more than 80% of the south and around 60-65% of the east in under 4 MONTHS. All this while apparently being "bogged" down managing to maintain a roughly 7:1 combatant to civilian death ratio ( this is usually expected to be 1.5/1:1), which means more combatants from both sides are dying more than civilians, just as they said they aimed to achieve ala minimize civilian casualties. This is a very methodical and well calculated operation that is being carried out very meticulously and patiently, one to two kilometers at a time. On a tactical level sure they were mistakes made as can be found in any militarily operation, but from a theater of operation perspective it is progressing steadily.

Not remarkable at all. You are viewing it from a western perspective. Talk shows like this one are not the same as talk shows in democratic countries. This show is a prime disseminator of Kremlin propaganda. It often has differing views - but always with a purpose - and to imagine that the vast and well developed propaganda machine of the Kremlin was unaware and that this guy spoke independently I doubt it. He is a regular on the show. It is more useful to question why did they want to air this POV - what function does it serve.

Mikhail Khodaryonok on RT said :- “The main deficiency of our military-political position is that we are in full geopolitical solitude and - however, we don’t want to admit it - practically the whole world is against us ... and we need to get out of this situation,” Khodaryonok continued on the talk show, with the other studio guests appearing dumbstruck by his outspoken critique. My opinion: Russia has failed at every juncture. They have gained absolutely nothing from this war. Sweden and Finland will become NATO members (Turkey will eventually capitulate). Ukraine has gained military support and equipment, the equivalent of the entire annual Russian military budget in three months, and will continue to gain more equipment. In time, they will be far more modern and capable than the whole Russian military, with members who are willing to fight. Russia has NO WAY out other than to surrender or use harsher tactics like chemical or nuclear warfare. NONE of which is desirable solutions.
@crhu3192 жыл бұрын
That's delusional. Russia was far more isolated in past decades. It has China and India to work with and the Mideast. And to stop the genocide of Russian Orthodox that Ukraine planned and was executing since 2014, it WILL go nuclear.
@williamofy63762 жыл бұрын
@@crhu319 nearly "80 percent of Ukrainians profess affiliation with an Orthodox denomination, some 10 percent of the population - particularly in western Ukraine - belong to the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church." There is zero evidence that Ukraine was deliberately targeting/killing them. Next, Russia sanctioned and supported the Chechnya murders and torcher of people of the LGBT community. Where is the outcry there? This is verified too. During this war, Russia's efforts and actions clearly say a lot about its leadership/people- deliberately targeting civilians ET AL. In fairness, Ukraine is not so innocent and has been a corrupt puppet of Russia (same for Belarus) until they voted Zelensky into office. He decided to go in a different direction...albeit still a corrupt government but it was going in a better direction trying to undo decades of Russian politics/policies- THIS is the REAL reason for the war. Just to make a point on "isolation,"- Russia has had several western companies that were working within the country. They were not just doing business with China/ India/ Iran ("BRIC" countries-google it), etc. There are still some western companies still operating in Russia today. So they are not the victim....as Russians love to play the victim card constantly. There are no poor Politicians in any of these countries either...just food for thought. Therefore Nuclear war is not profitable.

That show is one of Russia's prime propaganda dissemination shows. The guests often give counter arguments - and it is all designed to get the Russian public to think about things in a certain way or to soften them up for future action. Do you really think this episode was not scripted - that the commentators and guests didn't have preset talking points or that the massive kremlin propaganda machine was unaware of what the colonel would say? So a better way of viewing it would be to question why he is saying what he is saying - what is the message/response that they want. The most obvious/likely reason is that they know the war isn't going well, and they are softening up the Russian public.

In some Russian prisoner clearing houses able bodied prisoners are executed after interrogation as they don't want to trade back anyone who is fit to fight again and only trade back seriously injured prisoners that can only be a burden on the Ukrainian war effort in exchange for fit Russian prisoners that can be redeployed. This has been discovered from interviews of injured prisoners swapped back. It would also be likely that Azov battalion prisoners will be more severely interrogated in order to obtain fake confessions of being "nazis" for use by Russian propaganda channels to claim that the so called denazification is real and necessary. As for the brave and noble colonel - that's what we used to call a "career limiting move".

Now: And you, do you want to know why Russia has not been removed from the UN? Or WHY don't send fighter jets against Russia? Cuz If anything, IF the US really wanted to resolve the crisis in Ukraine, the US would break up with NATO forever. In 1991, when the USSR collapsed, the Russians dissolved the Warsaw Pact. However, NATO was not dissolved. It was the opposite. NATO grew in power, in territorial extension and in the number of allied countries. In this war Mr. Putin is DEFENDING his homeland. Mr. Putin is fighting today against only ONE Country (Ukraine), cuz if he doesn't fight Ukraine today, then tomorrow he will have to fight against 30 countries that make up NATO. At the end of WWII, NATO had 8 allied countries. During the height of the Cold War, NATO already had 14 countries in total. Today, when the USSR and Communism no longer exists, there are 30. Just in case we all forgot. Mr. Zelensky was a television Comedian who won the Presidency of Ukraine thanks to Mr. Petro Poroshenko (this one of great academic and political merit), was ridiculed for the Parodies that Mr. Zelensky made on TV. And why didn't Mr. Poroshenko stop these taunts and slanders against him? Answer: Cuz Mr. Poroshenko did not want to "Affect" the Freedom of Expression in Ukraine. Well... Already as President, Mr. Zelensky dazzled by the proposals of the International Monetary Fund (Headquarters in Washington, DC), in which he would be filled with money if he agreed to join NATO, it was easy for him to challenge the power of Russia. Today Mr. Zelensky is ALONE and friendless. Mr. Zelensky faces Mr. Putin in absolute solitude. What does Mr. Putin want? Answer: Russia cannot allow a NATO Military Base on its immediate border. What does the United States want? Answer: The US has almost 800 Military Bases spread all over the world, and they need another 800 more Bases, to subsume Russia. That is what the US wants: Subsume Russia. But... BUT, the US will not enter a war to defend Mr. Zelensky, cuz China would side with Russia. End of history and possibly end of the United States. Governing a country is serious business. A country cannot be Governed by a TV Comedian. Finally, for the US the issue of its National Security is something non-negotiable. (The Pentagon is PARANOID on this point). However, this same Right to Defend Itself, US is denied to Russia and it is also denied to all the countries of the world. No one in the world can pose a threat to the US, but in reality, the US is a real threat to everyone. Now, please read the words of Mr. Vladimir Putin: “Russia has always advocated for the creation of a system of equal and indivisible Security. A system that is vital for the entire world community. In December last year (in 2019), we proposed to conclude an agreement on Security Guarantees. Russia called on the West to an honest dialogue to search for reasonable compromise solutions. I feel bad for so many of the Russian people when they see the proofs of what was done. Putin being gone won't stop the memories of what happened and the Russian people will be the ones that suffer due to that. I recently did a deep dive into Finland...........yeah. Invading Finland has never been a real success and they never stopped planning for another one. I always wondered why Norway curls over the north of Finland. Norway has been NATO for a while. Truly fascinating. I, in my life, have never heard of a country that continually prepared for a defensive war. Not just stockpiling, they used near expired supplies to do training regularly. I never imagined it........let alone a country that has been doing it for decades. In all truth I never considered a countries military really being used for anything other than offensive. Finland blew my fucking mind. Guaranteed other neighbors of Russia have some level of it and blatantly have to have been increasing it. I was a kid of the cold war, I lived in Montana. What always struck me is that I didn't understand why they were the "bad guys" their land looked much like my land. I kind of held onto that innocent sentiment until Ukraine. Ukraine did an amazing job of telling the world their position and opinions and explaining them that seemed absolutely true. I knew about Finlands history with Russia. I didn't think Russia would ever threaten Sweden or Finland. I don't often follow geopolitics. (obviously) In my defense I never would think that France would hate Germany still. Maybe some do, I don't know. I can imagine hating figures of the past, but don't understand issues with those of the present. Granted my issue is also a huge issue with the United States having a crap memory of shit it's done too. We assume that the children of fathers killed have forgotten. We as a public are the worst at realizing other people have memories for we only follow the now. I am guilty of that as well.
