When Vijay Prasad mentioned the US' "provisional principles", it immediately reminded me of Condoleeza Rice's convenient justification when asked why the US didn't follow its stated principle. She said, "The equation has changed." No wonder Lavrov said the US was agreement incapable, and there's a worldwide stampede to dedollarize.

It's not about profits. Yes, the MIC has a powerful lobby, but this is about much more. This has to do with American geopolitics. The US fears that when it and China get embroiled into security competition (and possibly war), Europe and/or Russia may become the laughing thirds. This is why it seeks to embroil Europe and Russia into a war with each other. Why else would the US seek to remove the key to eastern European stability: a neutral Ukraine, and do its utmost to boycot any chance of a peaceful or diplomatic solution? It's cut in dry, folks. The US has been using these methods for decades, and they're described in detail in works by Mackinder, Wolfowitz, Brzezinski, etc. - divide et impera on the Eurasian continent is the key to US hegemony and with the US global position under pressure, this is what it will aim to do. Blaming it on the MIC is easy, and basically turns you into a 'useful idiot' by not recognizing the very real geopolitical struggle that underlies it all.

@sidnill. “The biggest factor …”. Who could blame the Israelis if you are right. Israel did handed Gaza to the arabs in 2097. Whilst they continually attacked Israel for 15 years, Israel maintained its patience until 7 October. Enough is enough. However, it’s nonsense. If Hamas came out from behind the civilians, there would be no non-Hamas casualties.

When you take a step back, it’s really interesting and incomprehensible. The fact that when the United States government speaks, they speak, as if people are absolutely ignorant of their own actions. The entire world knows what the United States did in Iraq and Afghanistan. They don’t have any moral grounds to lecture anybody specially, not a country that is literally defending its sovereignty from NATO

They forgot to mention that the “security bill” that passed the senate and has been rejected in the house also included a clause to ban funding to UNRWA and to make aid to Israel unconditional without any approval from congress necessary. I’m sure the house will make a worse bill that includes no funding for Palestine as well as the unconditional aid to Israel, but it buys some time.

I've posted this elsewhere, but on the topic of Russia's "invasion": Let's stop calling Russian movements into Ukraine an "invasion": it was the USA that invaded the Ukraine and violated its sovereignty (after several attempts, finally in 2014, with Victoria Nuland electing her own government for the whole of the country). The actual people of Donetsk and Lugansk, after finally having declared sovereignty--and after having merely asked for autonomy--from the Ukrainian government, asked for Russian assistance. What Russia is doing now is actual liberation, unlike what the Americans do, as in "Operation Iraqi Freedom."

What nonsense. 😂 The USSR ethnically cleansed Tartars from Crimea, and colonized it with Russians. The Holdomor hit the Donbas region hard, genociding much of the population, and they brought in Russians to colonize it. Both the Empire and the USSR also pushed Russification in Ukraine. Putin has just come back to finish the job, and you're supporting Russian Imperialism and colonialism. Russia has been violently interfering in former SSR countries since 1991. Putin thinks all the former SSRs should belong to Russia. He has been trying to expand Russia's borders back to meet the NATO borders, so his claims about not wanting NATO on his border are ridiculous. He just doesn't want NATO in countries he wants back. Ukraine's president had said he would support Ukraine joining the EU. Putin then blockaded trade to Ukraine, until he flipped his position. When he did, people protested. One American diplomat, with a plate of cookies, didn't cause what happened. Putin's blockade did.

That's easy, If you could convince people to lend you money to pay them for their goods and services and someone who lives in the neighborhood provides them with a product, that you are not even competing with, but you get jealous anyway, and so you feel "compelled" to bomb their warehouse (oil pipeline) tell your friends to not buy from them (because it's making you look weak and insecure, you're not the center of attention any more...) then you decide that you want to supply your friends what they are selling but you can't do it as cheaply so you have to convince your friends they pay an extra 300-600% higher cost because you are secretly buying it from the very people who were selling it to them directly, but you still manage to convince them anyway... then you pay a local "tough" guy to try and beat up this very source of your product because you're now feeling humiliated and embarrassed (since you can't compete fairly) and if you could do all this by paying money that was loaned to you (treasury bills) the only question would be: Then why wouldn't you? especially if you're used to be the local "big shot" and can't stand to see anyone else get a great deal without your involvement... !!! '; D i.e. the US' personality can be described as sociopathic and criminal... in a nutshell...

*It's "divide and rule."* Read Washington chief strategist Brzinzki's "grand plan", or the British Empire's Mackinder/Pivot of History before that (1904). The aim was always to drive a rift between Europeans, *to avoid greater European/Eurasian (geographically incl. the ME)* co-operation and trade. Once that has been achieved, keep all the little minions "down," and grow off their weaknesses in the zero-sum reality of the temporary status quo. Note that "resources" cannot be produced with the snap of a finger. Creating new resources, are long-term effects of strategies, steered by the same powers. It is the CONTROL these control freaks want and steer towards, using their geographical advantage. With re. to how tools to implement the strategy are used: Robert Dickson Crane served as foreign policy advisor to President Richard Nixon from 1963 to 1968: "At that time I had read a little about Islam, because I thought Islam would be the strongest and most durable ally of the United States against Communism. Because both of us, Nixon and I, saw Communism as a world threat ..." Note how they openly admit how they use "tools" (strategy) to "steer" (plan) against others, when it is useful to themselves. Note also how *your* "enemies today," as a collective (Islam) were the systemic "good guys" in a different past. They were the "good guys" because they (Muslims as a collective) were useful at the time, as Kissinger implemented, to goad the SU into invading Afghanistan, where they could then be "combated by proxy" similar to the Ukraine post-2022 and today. Today as we watch on, the Ukraine is being burnt to the "last Ukrainian soldier" accompanied by cheers of "...but, but, but they had a choice!!" Poland will be next to be given a "choice," if the Ukraine fails as US/Western proxy and tool, in a long list of previous examples of the Washington DC/Pentagon-steered global strategy.
