@@kchen1987 first off, no one “deserves” hatred or discrimination. the fact is that the same system that puts down black americans also puts down asian americans while also dividing the two at the same time. i agree that we aren’t “attacking each other” but the point is many people don’t understand that it’s the same system that affects all minorities, and it’s the same system pitting us against each other. that’s one of the major points of the video: we aren’t each other’s enemies. from how i read it, @Ranunculus is saying how it is sad that some people don’t understand how minority groups have been divided and are putting each other down. they aren’t saying that asian americans are doing all the things quoted, they’re pointing out the attitudes of those ignorant about this topic. your response of attacking black americans and saying that “asians participated more than black people in the BLM movement” is further dividing us. read closer and stop jumping to hate because that just further contributes to the problem. the last thing in the original comment says how you can’t preach for equality and then use “karma” as justification for the discrimination of others, MEANING that those who put other minorities down while calling for equality are in the wrong. please be kind and think before you jump to rude responses.

@jay minto English is a very difficult language for native speakers to learn. You, yourself, seem to lack proper grammar knowledge. They are not wrong (nor are they racist, as the “American” they’re referring to is not a race) for saying Americans need better education. We do. White history is not the only history, and this country was built on the backs of several minority groups of several skin colors. History textbooks here in the States do not accurately depict American history. Instead of being angry at someone for pointing this out, be angry at the reasons why they may be saying we need better education. Be angry that important, life-changing information is being intentionally withheld and erased from record. Be angry that we don’t learn about minority accomplishments or hardships. Be angry that those of us who are white (like me) benefit from the blood, sweat, and tears of those who deserve much more in life than what they get. If you’re upset at other minorities for the issues they struggle with, and if you’re upset because someone is telling you to be better, maybe you should listen. What you’re feeling right now-that anger-is NOTHING compared to what these groups go through on the daily. It’s nothing compared to what the children of the elderly Asian women and men facing abuse feel. It’s nothing to compared to how the black community feels when yet ANOTHER black person is murdered by the police.

It's so difficult to explain to older relatives why the model minority myth is so harmful. They have brainwashed themselves into such pick-me ass people that they see the moniker as a point of pride. @miaposamarie2263 жыл бұрын
@Viper 47 no it isn't. That is the model minority mith you just described. It's INCREDEBLY racist and it was created by the police to pit Asians against other minorities. By you saying that you are supporting soft nazi propaganda. The reason why it LOOKS like Asians do better on education is because the model students, the A+ ones, are usually rich families who pay their kids to go to American colleges. Most Asians are not incredebly educated (by population percentage alone) it just seems that way because a) The population is huge. Of course it seems Asians are more successful if there is a lot within your population. But the overwhelming majority of people of asia are not the stereotype b) many of the newer families that come here are already rich and they're just taking advantage of the education system and colleges and c) the only reason why Asians did so well post world war 2 is because the white population decided not to oppress them THAT much. That's literally it. Asian (only mostly the light skinned ones ) had access to schools and jobs that were barred for Hispanics and black people. Also indians are Asians. You bought the minority myth so hookline and sinker that you didn't even realize you pitted Asians against Asians.
@kennethcaldwell43063 жыл бұрын
@Viper 47 Its important to include Africans in that group of educated immigrants also. Basically, any nationality that migrated to the US for education or a better way of life will use education, knowledge to excel, especially since it was not illegal for them to learn to read, write or be educated. Africans who were stolen and forcibly brought to the US through slavery were not allowed to read and it was illegal to educate them. Add to that the years of Jim Crow discrimination and “separate but equal” education has had a long lasting and harmful impact on African-American education.
