I get Team Asano is sort of scared after what happened to BS, but this is really damaging the series if there will be any new games coming out or even a freakin' continuation with Bravely Third. This is just sad and I can only see this series as dying when there are fans in Japan AND overseas who still wait for more to come. Also, might I add, this is REALLY insulting when Bravely Default 2's team also worked on the mobile game at the same time, or half the team was taken away to work on the mobile game instead, thus the production on BD2 took a dip along with the pandemic. Fantastic 😒

Yeah I've mentioned this before, but there's COTC but also Battle Champs (Little Noah) which had a simultaneous server between JP and Eng (the bravely collab came to both at the same time) so I don't know why they can't translate the text and bring it over even in a delay. Bravely is the red-headed stepchild.

They are just not doing the series dirty it’s just sad it’s got so much potential 😫😫

I don't think Bravely Default has a fan base big enough to support these mobile games and keep them profitable. Square also pulled FF7 First Soldier (which had similar concurrent metrics with Brilliant Lights) after nearly only a year because the player count was just so small. I think they don't translate these game because they believe they can make the most money possible this way.

3:20 the coping is real lol the gacha wasn't making this incompetent and greedy ass company enough money so it got shut down plain and simple

its so annoying having to scavange around for little tidbits of plot in a language you dont understand, at least there are video archives of cutscenes but translating those is much more difficult than translating text, bravely is such a silly series to be a fan of

As a lifelong RPG person, I feel like SquareEnix NEVER learned how to accurately measure audience interest relative to funds expended. We've seen it dozens of times now that their properties 'underperformed' and just get straight up canned, ever since The Spirits Within movie. Like, maybe figure out what the actual realistic market for a game is BEFORE assigning a budget and target earnings? I dunno, I'm not a numbers person, just a concerned fan.

I've been playing this game nearly since it came out. It's been a struggle to learn to play it with Japanese text but I've managed. I'm actually pretty good at it and I've gotten some cool stuff. Aside from leveling up characters and generally playing I haven't been able to enjoy the stories but there have been a lot of really cool cutscenes and plotlines that I was interested in. Like, Janne and edea manning the defense forces when the town gets attacked while Elvis gts ringabel to help with the magic shields... Not to mention the main cast who felt, In my opinion, a whole lot more real than BD2's cast. Even without text translations I could see how distant Claire was and how she slowly had to warm up o her friends. I could tell that Steele felt like his scar marked his identity as a bandit for life. Not to mention the point when Sandra began to doubt their mission and grow suspicious... Make no mistake, this is a well-written and interesting game, more like a classic bravely in story than I've seen in a while. Granted the gameplay was a little repetitive, but there was so much there I can't even imagine that there just 'weren't enough users'... I mean, it's possible, but I smell a rat.

Is interesting how octopath with only 1 mobile game even was released overseas and bravely has like 4 shuted up mobile games.

Tbh CotC is an absolutely shameless Gatcha and I'd prefer if Bravely didn't do that.

@@zennistradif you compare to other gachas, CoTC is much more reasonable. I have zero compromise for this kind of game, but as a OT fan I played CoTC for the story and managed to get through the whole thing (except the final boss, which expects you to be a psycho, but I was totally fine without beating it) with minimal effort and zero transactions. it feels just like a console/PC game and I recommend it to anyone who is skeptical of gacha games like I am

Gosh I was so looking forward to Brilliant Lights coming to the west, so disappointing...

Considering their track record with mobile games I wasn't expecting BL to come to the west at all, but it's shutting down? Not the best news to start of 2023.. I don't know the reason why it's getting cancelled, but I'm guessing that the revenue is no longer good enough. Or maybe it is as you say; the game garnered enough money to fund the next project. You know if they were out for money I am doubly surprised there aren't global versions. Japanese audio with English text goes a very long way..

I don't think that they bring mobile games to the west unless they are related to BD2 or Octopath, due to BD and BS sales. In part, that's better because they won't ruin Luxendarc story. I'm quite hyped for your other RPG series.

they need to learn from CoTC. I'd love to play BD in mobile but with all the fails I have zero expectations

now the only realistic way a new bravely mobile game will come to the west is if a next console entire will sell just as much as a mainline Nintendo IP
