I hope coach Mosley can re-implement Banchero without Franz having a drop off. The offense more fluid with Franz but at times a 260 lbs wrecking ball like Banchero is needed. They could combine for 50 ppg 15 ast 15 reb every night without trying that much
@kingxjamesx23to692 ай бұрын
One of either Franz or Paolo should in the game at all times. Only way it’ll work whenever one’s. Taking a break and the other goes off then they both play at certain points of the game and be equally as aggressive on offense
@coreyjohnson87572 ай бұрын
Paolo is number 1 for a reason. And the offense isn't more fluent with franz. Paolo assist numbers have always been better than franz from his very first yr. Like that 50pt 9 assist game. He's a better shooter, midrange, than franz. Like him shooting 37% from 3 last yr while franz was down to 28%. Like Paolo being the only player to step up all 7 games in the playoffs, while franz showed up for 3. Last point I want to make is that the east is pretty banged up with a lot of star players missing or just coming back. It's why the cavs the same exact team the magic embarrassed 3games in the playoffs this pass season is 17-1. Because they are healthy playing mostly injured teams the same way orlando hasn't played a single elite team during this franz run. Most of our games have been against non playoff teams. Franz has always performed well against those types of teams. Not so much the elite teams. That's what separates him and paolo. Franz is a really really good player, but paolo is a great player in the making. There's a reason the franchise turned the corner with success almost as soon as he got here. While we were the worst team in the league the yr before paolo, with franz on the roster.

@@coreyjohnson8757One, the Magic were 34-48 and finished 13th in the East when Paolo got to Orlando. Two, without Franz last year the Magic were 2-7. Three, Paolo had 9 points in a game four win that Franz carried in and 15 turnovers in the first two losses. Four, even with a poor year from three, Franz was the more efficient scorers and has been throughout his career. Paolo is below average. Five, Franz is a far superior defender. Six, by all advanced analytics, Franz has been the superior player throughout. Franz is a top 10 player in the NBA right now. And seven, as a rookie, Paolo had the exact same assist rate as Franz with a far higher turnover rate, and Franz right now has a higher assist rate than Paolo has ever had. Now, I do, in fact, think Paolo is the number one guy on the Magic. He had the ability to go for 50 on any given night, which I don't think Franz has. That said, Franz is the superior player right now.
@AaronTats2 ай бұрын
With Banchero’s gravity as a giant primary ball handler, it’s just gonna make things easier for Franz to operate in space. Of course Franz’s usage rate is gonna go down, but it’s definitely not gonna go back down to what it used to be. They always wanted them to both be high usage guys, and now they have enough evidence to implement it far sooner than what Mose and the FO initially thought.

Franz is awesome. He had a bit of a plateau year last year, and was a touch worried, but if he can sustain this gameplay all year, it’s safe to say he’s taken a big step up.

He didn’t plateau last year. All his numbers were up except for 3 pt %. Had a career year but today’s NBA is all about 3 point shooting. Hopefully that changes someday.
@JonahsWail2 ай бұрын
@ I wasn’t looking at his stats but since you mentioned it I’m not sure how where you see material improvement, and the fact that his 3pt was down considerably was not good. I was just hoping he would level up last year like he has so far this year. Following the games last year, he just seemed real inconsistent, and just disappeared at times. A lot of that was the rise of Paolo, but there were times that Franz just looked out of it. I hope he can sustain this level throughout the year. It’s gonna be a touch squeeze once Paolo gets back, but I’m really hoping they can develop into a lethal combo together. Having big bro Mo around is freakin awesome too.

Franz and Banchero play well together. I believe we will see Banchero come in, and work seamlessly. Franz not having to put up 30 is the best scenario. Give me Suggs and KcP shooting better, and Banchero back, along with Goga, and you have a put together 5 that is tough to beat. Carter needs to come off the bench.

Legitimate All-Star. He’s officially made the leap. In a couple seasons they’ll be serious contenders. Let all the pieces around Paulo and Franz develop, especially Black. Howard, Houston, and Da Silva are all athletic wings with versatility. 3 young starting caliber centers and they all seem to be getting better with time. That is the one position I think they should possibly look to upgrade. At the same time I like the rotation of Goga, Wendell, and Mo.

@@nahyoulyinfranz got the opportunity to come to a team who was in the first yr of a rebuild when got here. No pressure at all like jk going to a winning team. Because all of our guards were injured franz rookie yr it allowed him to learn to run offense which he had never done much of in college. Pick and rolls and things like that was new to him as far as running them. But orlando had nothing to lose and were down their point guards. The thing that help franz was the no pressure and him staying healthy his entire career which has allowed him to grow as a player. He was only seen as a glue guy, solid role player by scouts coming out of college. Kuminga hasn't had the same opportunity as franz. He barely played his first two yrs. @@coreyjohnson8757 well franz came in with a level of iq and intangibles that jk didn’t. I feel if the warriors took franz he be an elite glue guy who got to learn from Steph, klay , and draymond. @coreyjohnson87572 ай бұрын
@GohanBachPlays again most of what you see of franz is what he grew into being on a young team with no pressure his first couple yrs. Im from here, die hard magic fan my entire life. He learned much of what we are seeing. So had he gone to the warriors known as a glue guy he would have been treated as such. He's 6'10 and we know kerr loves small ball, so it wouldn't have been a surprise if warriors had him as a stretch 5/center, that alone would have wore him down and gave him a higher chance of injuries banging down low with real bigs. He plays small forward for the magic. Starting as the power forward while paolo is out. He even started a handful of games at shooting guard last yr. But on top of that I'm not a warriors fan and even I know that the warriors under Kerr have done a poor job developing their young players/draft picks. Plenty of articles ive read over the years that talked about that. They've had a couple guards that done well but where are they now? No forwards or centers that I'm aware of that the warriors develop to be a great player in the kerr era. Franz would be standing in the corner or setting picks on offense and getting banged up on defense like a small 6'7 johnathan kuminga is, playing as an undersized power forward behind draymond. Def not far fetched when considering they started Wiggins as the 4 at times last yr. What is he 6'6 190? I just don't see how Franzwould have thrived there without room to make mistakes as a young player, like he has here in orlando, bc of the warriors ring chasing at the time.
