I love the English attempt to censor these sorts of things. It’s like the equivalent of “being banished to the shadow realm” you’re not banished to another dimension, you’re dead. The Tea Master didn’t faint from exhaustion, he died of exhaustion. The ghosts aren’t just draining life force, they’re stealing your soul.

​@@fist-of-doom487 I mean imo they didn't censor anything, passing out from exhaustion and anger heavily implies death to begin with, but when it talks about the woman it specifies it only takes *some* of her energy. Pokemon have outright mentioned death multiple times since the first games in the series, so I think they would have just said it outright killed her. Now obviously this all changes if the Japanese speaker actually says she died rather than just fainted, but I haven't heard anything in the pokemon research server I'm in, so I'm not sure yet. This is why I really want someone to upload the Japanese version with subs

i think Polchageist will evolve again as by looking at the design and website we see its face is on the item itself and not the powder, similarly to sinistea and its swirly blob that pops out from the top. The website even calls its similarities to Sinistea specifically and not Polteageist with the fact the short trailler showed it witha Sinistea

One thing you seem to have overlooked is that it's basically never compared to Polteageist officially, but rather to Sinistea. So it is definitely the base form of a 2 stage line. That said.... What exactly makes it different enough to be it's own Pokemon? It's still tea after all.

Cause its a yokai, not a ghost. This is evident in the fact that the tea isnt said to have been possessed, but the tea itself became the entitea

The story of the spirit that if you ignore it kills you reminded me a lot of the legend of the "munaciello" , a spirit belonging to Neapolitan folklore that enters people's homes to seek hospitality, and if you treat him badly or you are not a good landlord and/or you don't make him feel at ease he steals things from your house/kills you.

I was looking up Kintsugi and apparently it's had a recent resurgence, with earthquakes in Tohoku being a big catalyst as people wanted to restore damaged ceramics. Nice to get a pokemon focused around the concept for the pokemon version of Tohoku!

When I first watched the story of Poltchageist, I thought that the tea master had died from exhaustion and had possessed the tea caddy. It also made me think that the reason there are multiple Poltchageist in the world is from people breaking tea cups, like the women did, and the tea master reincarnating them into Pokémon like him with the power to seal up broken objects 😅

I'm pretty sure that's meant to be implied given that the tea master has three moles in a triangle on his forehead and Poltchageist has the same three dots above one eye.

​@@crushogre2269actually is not the tea master himself, but rather his regret and emotions A similar case would be Banette, where the plushtoy came to life bot because of a ghost posessing it, but as a reincarnation of the grudge the plush may had felt for being abandoned You could say that, while still a ghost type because is a Yokai, Poltchageist is not a spirit possessing the caddy, but rather a caddy/matcha powder that gained a spirit and became sentient

That's WAY lower than some other frequent types, Grass/Ghost is no-where NEAR overused. The example you show is from TEN YEARS AGO.

Matcha is a powder ground from specially grown green tea in East Asia! If we got a matcha powder item it would probably be Poltchageist-exclusive but I could totally see green tea as one of the ‘natural’ healing items that you’d get where the roots and herbs are sold. 🌱
