I'll be honest, I liked The Batman. It started slow for me but got more exciting as it went on and I thought it was interesting to have something that we're all very used to being comic-booky and over the top as a very grounded in reality crime drama. But it didn't fully draw me into that universe. I still felt like if I was gonna choose a Batman universe to sink into for the afternoon, it'd be the Chris Nolan movies or the Arkham games. But The Penguin has fully drawn me in. I was literally on the edge of my seat for Sofia's backstory episode with a massive smile on my face as she joyfully floated around the house doing her thing in that sexy dress. I'm also now completely in love with Cristin Milioti. She's responsible for making me have a new crush on a DC gal that I knew nothing about before and her acting is flawless! I'm also thoroughly enjoying Colin Farrell as the Penguin even more. He sold it in The Batman but now he's really fell into the character and I really love this interpretation of Penguin and it makes me excited to see this universe's version of other batman characters. Also does anyone else kinda think Vic might be Mr. Freeze? There were the talks where Matt Reeves said he wanted to do a more grounded take on Mr. Freeze. Vic loves frozen drinks, he freezes up when he talks and it always comes across as though he's cold and shivering, he's becoming more cold-hearted the more time he spends around Penguin and he essentially put the girl he loved on ice when he left her without any word (possibly to save her from dying as he may have worried his new life of crime would put her in harms way), and I can very easily see at some point one of the many gangsta's in the show or one of Oz's guys giving him the nickname Mr. Freeze at some point because of his stutter.

As not much of a comic book/ superhero movies fan, I honestly didn't care much for The Batman. I thought it was a good watch, but for sure wasn't on the same line with the praises it got. This on the other hand is absolutely a masterpiece. And it gets better with every episode, Sophia's character in particular. Maybe I like it more because I'm not a Batman fan, because this has more of a Sopranos feel to it, but a lot darker in the best way possible.

Christin is the Truth. Watching clips from 30 Rock shows me her range but she's crushing it crazy. Shoutout to Mark Strong for giving us a younger, more ruthless and intimidating Carmine. John T did his thing with his slimy, creepy portrayal but Mark gave us a nice take on the character.

I mean they literally introduced Magpie, a C/D tier Batman villain, in this episode. Shes the crazy friend that Sofia kills in Arkham. If that isn't fan service idk what is. Also they show in side workings of Arkham Asylum. Its just done well because most people don't even know that was a Batman villain. Thats how you do cameo and fan service, not Henry Cavil making a cameo as Superman.

I still can believe how well writing and acted this show is. @@OffTheCover well in the comics 2 face is behind the riddler killings , Alberto is the serial killer and he wipes out falcones and maronis as a setup actually they gave Sofia the Alberto role kinda , carmine took Sofia out of prison to help him find the killer , and 2 face killed Sofia , 2 face is literally the main character in this lore and universe they are using , also poison ivy is missing and scarecrow , it’s good series but you cannot exclude 2face from this
