For those who havent tried it but are curious about the taste, the Grimace shake tastes like a cross between fruity cereal milk and the sonic cheesecake shake. It goes very, very well with fries for those who like to dip their fries in ice cream. I've tried to mimic the shake but so far the closest thing was using actual fruity pebble milk (ofc i didnt waste cereal to make this lol) and a little cheesecake mix.

@louistwo6524 Yeah, it's not something I'd get frequently either tbh. Afterwards, I just feel kind of sick from the sweetness (pretty much how I feel after most shakes anyway). It really is pretty great with fries but not worthy of the $15 price tag to get the meal, and certainly not worth the $4 it costs at my local McDs to get the shake by itself. You could do better with a pint of vanilla and some flavorings and get a lot more for the same price.

Ice cream machines might not break often but when they do, they're required to get a specialized worker to fix it, because of shitty corporate reasons. So it takes a couple of days of people being unable to buy their ice cream, which means a couple million people every year stumbling upon this rare incident and clinging on to it due to negativity bias.

I’m a grill opener for the big ‘M’ corporation. The real reason why the ice cream machine doesn’t work half the time is because it isn’t like any other ice cream machine: It uses a whole bunch of proprietary parts, and it takes about 4 hours to clean & sanitize the entire thing. And if somebody fails to lubricate even a SINGLE little part, the whole thing breaks and we need to call a technician.

Well great, I've already had ONE of those damn shakes.. Also idk if this was marketing back in the 90s, but when I was in kindergarten, I distinctly remember two of the schools playground equipment being McDonalds themed. With a giant metal Officer Big Mac jungle gym you could climb inside of, (Which is how I first knew of his character) and an orange slide that had an ugly evil Hamburgler driving a jail wagon, with actual bars to keep kids from falling. They eventually removed them years later and never figured out why the school had them to begin with.

At 5:25 I use to work as plant maintenance at the tyson foods that produces McDonald's nuggets and I was the lead of the blending area. the best part about the shamrock and the hardest part to replicating it at home in knockoff form is that it's not just mint but mint-vanilla flavored, and the proportions are just right to not be too overwhelming either way, not too minty not too vanilla-y, they're just in the perfect flavor balance zone. back in the days before it got popularized and ruined things, you could ask em to make a half shamrock half chocolate one that was delightful, corporate gets grumpy at people for doing it nowadays now that they know about it but thankfully some places will still make em.

Fact: McDonald’s had to retire most of it’s McDonaldland characters and the McDonaldland concept because Sid and Marty Kroft, the creators of H.R. Pufnstuf sued McDonald’s for copyright infringement. Seems the advertising agency handling McDs contacted the Krofts about using HR Pufnstuf characters in an advertising campaign. The Krofts and the firm had some discussions on the idea until the firm said the campaign had been canceled. A few months later, the McDonaldland commercials began airing, with a land of living hamburger patches and talking Apple Pie trees and a couple of anamorphic hamburgers named Officer Big Mac and Mayor McCheese that somewhat resembled HR Pufnstuf. The Krofts sued for copyright infringement and won. The McDonaldland campaign was dropped, along with the appearance of certain characters, including Mayor McCheese. Ronald, Hamburgler, abd Grimace still made appearances in commercials, but were used sporadically as time went on.

I NEVER touched our Grimace shake, as it looked disgusting. Especially when everyone at our store equated the shamrock shake with codeine. 😂 Not to mention the shake machine was almost always nearly needing a cleaning. Almost half the machinery are on their last leg. The only store in the chain that’s on a budget is the one I work at. Our freezer was just looked at. I hate how we’re run down, but others come to ask us for our goods.

I used to have a recurring nightmare as a little kid of the Hamburglar breaking into my house and walking down to the basement where we were hiding and then I always wake up right there. Me and my 2 closest friends witnessed someone filming a Grimace Shake Tiktok at McDonald's in person. Me and my friends were just minding our own business, eating fries and drinking Grimace Shake at around 10:30 PM, when this guy ran in from the staff area wearing nothing but shorts and shoes, incoherently screaming like a lunatic while covered in Grimace Shake, ran out the door, got in his car and drove off, all the while his cameraman was as stoic as a tree, like it was just another Tuesday for him. The best part? On the way to McDonald's, one of my friends said we'd be meeting Grimace by the end of the night, but I didn't think it would actually happen.
