The problem is the fact it doesn’t stop pay to win gameplay. When you’re able to buy all of the materials you need to keep all of the things you paid for, then it doesn’t do anyone any good other than the people who throw money at the game. ONE of the serums costs 20mil and they’re limited. But oh, looks like I can spend $30 and buy ALL 3 of them from the exclusive shop.

First of all, as a player who started playing the game back in SS2 test beta phase, I appreciate everyone that made the content about the game. Not many people know about this game (or even at all). Back to the topic. I think Netease made many mistake in this open beta. Back in SS1 (from what I heard) or even SS2, the game is pretty balanced. Wiping was announced only a few weeks beforehand but mostly for major overhauled (SS1 to SS2 for UI & gunplays, same with SS2 to SS3). They made a huge mistake by setting the target too damn high for both serum & pheromones. It's already bs for serum (total of 80 mil? I think only 1% of players has that kind of money) but the pheromones is the last straw for people to drop the game. It was so obvious that each region has unequal amount of player base, even back in beta. For example, Asia server is in no way has the same amount of players as Europe or US. I have to wait like 3-4 mins for a game and it always against bots like 90% of the time. Asian players aren't familiar with the wiping concept (Tarkov is a thing here but very niche compare to other common FPS games, especially on mobile). Worse, it was so obvious from day 1 that the pheromones dropping rate were wayyy too low. In span of first 2 weeks, I only found less than 10 bottles. And with all of these, the progress struck like 6-7% while EU is already reached 10-ish or so. Worst, the submit system. It kills the game entirely. Back in test beta, all item & equipment was unlocked along with player level. You cannot buy T5/T6 ammo directly from Heidi untill you're at level 50 except for a limited amount from hidden smuggling (150 ammo per player/round) same as T5/6 equipment. As MM (matchmaking) system was weighting on the value of your equipment, player level and ranking, when you're at low level which also mean low ranking and cheap equipment, you'll match with players at similar equipments/level (basically balanced). Now the system is broken, you can equipped like T5/T6 ammos and equipment and abused the MM system either matching against higher tier players (and died as they're more experienced then ranted on Discord or facebook and dropped the game) or lower tier players (which discouraged them and dropped the game. I mean who wants to play against fully geared players when you're wearing T3 or T4 kits). And what the devs are doing? Keep releasing the new skins and earning moneys. It's very sad to see the game coming to this state.

I love the excitement of starting on a fresh wipe, however i also understand not everyone has the time to do that. This game wipes way too frequently for the casual and non casual players. Yeah the game might be dull for some once they unlock everything and not everyone enjoys the scuffed ranked system in this game (exploited heavily by teamers with 0 punishment) they need to renovate what the endgame is because it doesn't feel rewarding or satisfying at all. I played for an entire month since release and haven't unlocked a single Class 5 body armor yet 2 friends did (Thanks Raymond rng), the current unlock system on top of the horrible battlepass and lack of communication/monetization is very disappointing.

I’m also struggling with the class 5 armors. I’ve found several but none sellable for some reason. I hope they rebalance the endgame and ranked with the wipe. They really gotta take their chances with wipes to do rebalancing in my opinion.

I play the mobile version of this game and I have reached above the required Hela Antibodies which is 1,250,000 something. Its also worth mentioning I'm playing at Asia Server. Hela Antibodies are almost common drop but idk if the same thing works of the pc version.

The big thing that turned me off from it was how they implemented the anti bodies. It seems like they just decided to give people an impossible task to keep them playing the game. This has a huge chance of wrecking the game.

Great video explaining the wipe mechanic. Like you, I feel they are necessary, but need to have a reason to be done. There is a lot Netease has to change if they want this game to stay viable, including making the game actually work which seems to be an issue lately. I hope they can get their game together, I would hate to see it die off because of greed and incompetence.

Honestly I am one of those new players but came from AB(arena battle). When I started I couldn’t find much tips on maps or much recent content for Lost Light like AB also finding out most AB players use to play Lost Light. This shows that Lost Light needs changes as it’s not keeping player base. I thought about buying battles pass but after finding out what wipe does I have no intentions to buy anything in game. To me wipe wouldn’t matter if my pounds weren’t getting deleted. But seems like everything will be gone. I don’t think wipe is necessary I get updates are needed but Lost Light is a quick version of tarkov it’s easy to get gear especially since you can spawn in more than once and take gear from NPC. Example AB didn’t wipe anything and they did a big update sadly having bugs but it didn’t change a thing and people are happy and people are happy to continue their subscriptions. If Lost Light wants to grow or make money they need to keep players. If not it’s gonna die off. Also personal opinion hate per function the abilities they have doesn’t keep the game realistic in the point of survival aspects. You mind as will start making birds fly in and all these weird gadgets that makes survival none survival instinct anymore. So game would be great if the change how wipes and get rid of pet abilities. I get having a case in game so take abilities away.

Wipe is the best thing that can happen in such games like this. Casual players should be happy about this because players that are way ahead will be draw back in the progress. The game have poor matchmaking and i as a falcon i'm constantly thrown in to matches with dragons and lions who destroy me with ease. Wipe will even a chance against sweaty players with lvl6 armors, best ammo and so on.

While watching the videa, I just remembered that we have to grind throu unlocking system again. You probably include this under the progression but this is a huge topic in my opinion since you can't only level up and unlock items, you have to hand over them too. This is ridicilous...

FOR ME matchmaking is the biggest issue. can't play in sqauds with friends if not wait for 10 minutes matchmaking and unbalanced ranked lobbies. i am falcon and i play against dragons, it is not fair at all. i did quit this game for these things, didn't manage to reach wipe "opinion".

That's a shame. I've only ever played solo and matchmaking is pretty smooth. I hear a lot of people mention the unfair rank matching. It never happened to me but I guess I've been lucky. I either get same ranks or below.

There are far greater turndowns to this game than wipes… the option to team up in solos, plus teaming in general, many bugs like spawning directly next to other players, the return system, no fpp option, a poorly designed ranked mode… just to mention a few points

The wipe is gonna come because all the players that are needed to hand in antibodies won't be able to, because they'll all be banned for "hacking", perhaps for having a 45:1 K/D ratio because the game is so easy

I don't mind a wipe overall, but tying item unlocks to the base which is almost guaranteed to wipe is infuriating. There are some things that I only just now unlocked at almost 300 hours of playtime and still many more that I want and have never found. Resetting that is absolute bullshit of the highest order and I'm on the fence about continuing in that event.

New player, in my first week. I'll definitely quit and certainly not spend any money if there are going to be wipes, especially including wiping paid stuffs. A better way to level the playing field is to use ELO rankings in pvp to keep a challenge there as well as lore difficult map areas for pvp change. I've never played Tarkov. Does it have base building? There's ZERO motivation for me to play a game with base progression if that progression is going to be wiped.

I think the reason wipe are bad in this game is bc they hand out too much t4 armor making t4 pen the normal but in early game that dose not exis meaning is almost like wipe never happened and every one no longer have their gear compared to t3 t2 even late wipe in tarkov

Fair point that I hadn’t thought of. I don’t think I’ve ever ran with T3 or T2 armor. I’ve always just had T4. They should rebalance that to make lower tier gear more relevant in the early game.

What make it not relevant was because the smuggling shop that reset every hour. Veteran player will immediatly upgrade their trade center in day 1 after wipe to level 3-4 to buy T5-T6 armor and T5-T6 ammo .

I won't stop playing because of a wipe. I just worked hard to get all my loot. My guy is currently worth 44 million whatever that means. But last wipe I immediately had so much gold stuff it was unreal so wipes dont mean anything to me

You answered it, people will simply quit if forced to start over. One mass quit and loss of market share. The people they will lose are the coiners. People paying for content they don’t own and can’t keep will be furious. No one pays for content and has it taken and continues playing. Net Ease knows this well because people began refusing to start from square 1 every time they launch a new server. This is poor server management on the developers part. They won’t do this for long. They will be losing something more than their money. They are compromising their brand image as a developer and any APK bearing their logo will be smeared. Other developers have undergone similar imposing unpopular mechanics and policies. There are a list of these failed developers dating back to Machine Zone in 2014 who now has no presence and is buried in lawsuits. The market will dictate the outcome.

First, WIPE IS NORMAL FOR GAME LIKE THIS. For those who thinks move to arena breakout is idiot things to do since arena breakout is also HAVE WIPE SERVER. Then you gonna ask how prevent this because I don't like to re-upgrade my base? Well, DO NOT EVER TOUCH LOOTER-SHOOTER-EXTRACTION-GAME AND RANTING LIKE AN IDIOT PLAYING GAMES WITHOUT ANY MINIMAL UNDERSTANDING ABOUT HOW THE GAME WORKS IN THE LONG RUN! And every single of game like that will have wipe server. Reasons: balancing player & new players can start from 0 and have a fair fight in game. Second, battlepass items. Yes this is very bad. Almost 80% is resources & equipments and basically p2w to have better base and faster. The suggestion IMO is make every single of resources in battlepass to free & paid battlepass only contains skins & costumes whichcounted as premium item that will not be wiped. And The Cycle Frontier have a great ways to make just like that.

@@PusenGaming i think the anti-bodies mechanic is a nice concept, it gives a goal to pursue so you have something else to care about. But on top of the hela antibodies don't forget about the Serum. The problem is that the Anti-Bodies drop rate is shit, and many ppl are just leaving them behind. I've alreay found several loot boxes from players with several HELA inside. The ranked system has really bad matchmaking...but worst of all is the crossplatform. Mobile players are at huge disavantage against pc players. Hope they improve the game cause i'v been having lots of fun with it

@@PusenGaming Not quite sure if it has gotten worse, i have only started playing it a few weeks ago. But its really bad for sure, you can buy like everything. Items, guns, armor, revives, ingame currency and a lot more. That just gets rid of all of the fun. A wipe would be completely useless because some players could just buy the best guns, ammo and armor right after the wipe. Wipes in this game just seem like something just to get the players to spend even more money.
