My father was diagnosed with the same as your father. I am so sorry. My father had nearly the exact journey that your father did. I went with him and my mom as you both did for the entirety of my first pregnancy. My father died a few weeks before my son was born. So I am sending love to you both and your family.❤️❤️ You are such lovely people, full of light heartedness and making a tough dieting road more palatable for so many! I watch all of your videos, try your recipes and I did notice that your had gained any weight at all. I never saw any skin issue with you, Sarah. People shouldn’t have that much time on their hands to hold you under a microscope. Hurt people hurt people. Sarah, I had skin issues as well probably due to the stress. After I had my baby, and he was safely drinking formula, I got a prescription for Retin-A gel. It is a miracle for clearing up your skin AND gets rid of lines and wrinkles as a side effect! Anyway, I hope you both heal well and know he is with you. Love from Sherry

I am so sorry for your loss. I love all the hospice workers, they are wonderful people but nothing fills the void caused by loss. The fact you kept tears back long enough to tell the story was inspiring. We all have sad stories to tell and the older I get the more often the loss. My dad passed at age 37 in 1987, since 2018 I have lost one family member a year until all ( even my step father) have all left. So many times I reach for the phone to call them and have to relive their loss. I think you 2 have honored your father and love your mother. Weight and health are important but focusing on love is more. I’ll lose the next 15 pounds with you. I don’t know you but my heartbreaks just the same.

The fullness of life includes death, but also belly laughs and tears, and plain old mundanenss. There is no way any of us, your subscribers and fans, could imagine what this cycle of life, has brought you both. That being said, your dad gave you two, both biologically and through enculturation, part of himself. It looks as though the Keto Twins are beginning again, in that fullness of life. For what it's worth to each of you, it never matters whether you "looked" one way or another. I can say this with some authority, The Keto Twins have been unique in the world of Ketogenic life. I know because I have watched a hell of a lot of them. Your videos are valuable to everyone who watches. (and supports your sponsors😉). I'm so sorry you had to go through this. I lost my dad to pancreatic cancer. He was only supposed to live for about a month but he went into remission and 6 months later he seemed to be doing fine. Then one Friday he saw his oncologist and came home and told my mom that he wanted to show her where all the important papers were. He didn't say anything else. On Monday morning she found him passed away in his recliner, still holding his horse racing form in one hand and a pen in the other. Cancer sucks. Losing a parent sucks. I wish I could tell you it gets easier. It doesn't really. It gets to the point where you can finally look back on the past with your dad and smile instead of cry at his absence but that will take time. But, it sure sounds like he was awesome and he obviously loved you both and was so proud of you. Keep that in your hearts. It helps.

My dad died in 2022. There are NO healthy options at hospitals past the day hours. My parents were married 62 years. Between running to the hospital, being there for my mom, as the only girl and oldest a lot fell on my shoulders. I was also babysitting two infants ( I needed the income). It was NUTS. The aftermath of his death was my mom devastated, selling the family home, I spent hours visiting my mom, making meals and delivering them, watching TV with her. These past two years have been a struggle. I really had no time to care for myself. In the past two years I’ve gained back 50 pounds of the 95 I lost. I do wish it was only 15lbs. I sat with my dad as he died and there when he took his last breath. I had sent my mom home who looked like she was going to die from worry. There is nothing pretty about witnessing a death, it’s not like the movies. I know I will get back on track. Sometime we all need to give ourselves the grace we need. Thanks for sharing your story ❤️

Cancer attacks the entire family not just the person whose body has betrayed them. You take me back to my own dad being diagnosed and treated for stage four non Hodgkin Lymphoma. I'm sorry for the journey that this has taken you and your family on. As a doula to the dying , I have walked this path with others... thank you for remembering that life goes on for the patient and the family until it does no longer. It takes time for one to return to themselves... grief takes us away from ourselves for a while... you have done your Dad proud... and you still are. Thank you for sharing yourselves with us... it is important. Please know that many here care and have gone through and are going through similar ... your Dad sounds a lot like my late husband... he met death with a level of grace... and peace... you were the wind beneath your dad's wings ( I know corny)- and now your Mom's. It is a process. Anywho... sending blessings of love & light to your highest good and healing ... 💚💙💚

Emily and Sarah- I am so sorry for your loss. I am 65, and still don’t feel middle aged😉I converted to Keto a little over a yr ago and have lost 45 lbs. Your recipes helped me a lot. I am also crying right now. I lost my mom about the age you are now. I lost my dad about 12 yrs later. Then, my favorite aunt was diagnosed with a rare form of kidney cancer, ( the same one I had, when I was 42.) My uncle was 79, and she was 69. She was so sick so fast. I was retired, and I packed up my 2 dogs and 3 cats and moved in with them. Unfortunately, chemo didn’t work, and she went into hospice. I was with my uncle when she passed. Emily and Sarah - I am new to your channel - I've seen a few videos over the years, but in recent days I started following more low carb and keto youtube channels and your "we need to talk" popped up. Wow. First of all, my deepest condolences for your loss. My goodness, you have been through so much. My Dad passed a year ago - and he declined very slowly over the course of 5 years (he had dementia) and when our parent's decline - it's a stressful, emotional time. Thank you for being real. I TOTALLY understand weight gain and skin issues - and it broke my heart to hear that people said critical things of you. That is so shallow. The truth is - eating healthy, following keto, low carb, low glycemic, etc. IS A PROCESS. Life interrupts us all the time. I'm grateful to you both because it encourages me that I am not alone in the struggle.... that life throws you curveballs and your diet will fluctuate. God bless you both - and again sorry for your loss. You could tell your Dad was very special. :)

So glad that you added this new channel. I started during my journey of becoming an orphan and a widow in 2014 in 6 years. My dad was brilliant too. And he head Alzheimer's, but died of a ruptured abdominal aneurysm. At the time, I was working two jobs. I turned in my notice for the full time job. I turned in my notice for my second job. That took effect on 2015 in January. Unfortunately, dad died two days before my notice was effective. Then my mom's lung cancer came back. She passed on 5/26/22. I was caring for mom during covid and there were no home health workers to be found. So I was in house with her and at the inpatient hospice unit 24/7. During this time, my hubby developed prostate cancer. All of the doctors missed it, because they thought that it was merely back pain from his several back surgeries. He died in June 9, 2022. So I understand that disconnected feeling of being in a place that the outside world understands. But I can never understand your individual pain. I am so proud of you both.🎉

Girls. I am so proud of you! Not just for supporting your dad during that time, but for also supporting your mom! Being a caregiver is extremely hard on your body. Plus grief and cortisol from stress compound the problem. I know. I went through it when I lost my husband of 43 years. Be kind to yourself. Do what you can when you feel that you can. Know that you are blessed.

You two were so strong and I am absolutely gob smacked how you kept yourselves together with so much going on. I know he is watching over you both, laughing away at what you two are up to. Know he is so very proud of you both. (I won’t say was, because his soul is still very much alive). I am so very sorry for your loss. My family and I will keep you two and your family in prayer. Love to your Mom as well. 🙏❤️

I have a blood cancer too. The transfusions are an all day event. I was scared to get a bone marrow biopsy because of the bad reviews on the Internet. It was a piece of cake. I didn't feel a thing. So if anyone is avoiding because they are scared go for it. I love that you were there for your parents. They raised beautiful daughters inside and out. God bless you and your family.

I completely understand, y'all. When my brother died I stopped wearing makeup for work because I was sobbing uncontrollably seven or eight times per day. Then I might be hysterically laughing about something adorable he did or said while he was dying of kidney cancer. Then I'd see someone on the street who looked like him and I had to circle the block to get one more look at "him". The roller-coaster of emotions does diminish over time, but it takes months to years. Don't worry about us. Take care of yourselves and don't let anyone on KZbin add one molecule to your burdens.

Wow, you two just described almost exactly what happened to me and my sister. We lost dad from a form of leukemia in 22, and helped my mom through it, while having lots of other things going on in our lives. I understand your story completely and my heart goes out to you both. What endures is the amazing love and life we shared together. Priceless!

I've been keto almost 3 years and watching your channel the entire time. Not just for the great recipe ideas and cooking dips and tricks😅, but for the entertainment value. It has made this keto lifestyle fun! So thank you. And, I'm truly sorry for your loss. Viewers that make negative comments are NOT your followers. They are just scroll trolls with no lifestyle whatsoever.

I am so sorry for the loss of your Dad. I have watched my Mom die from lung cancer, my birth-mom die from pancreatic cancer, and my step-mom die from metastasized breast cancer that spread to her spine and skull. My father also died suddenly less than a year before my step-mom died. As I watched today it brought all of that back. I feel for you both so much. I know how hard it is to keep giving 100% to your work, and when you are grieving and going through this stuff. It takes more than you have. I want you both to know that I so enjoy your videos and that you are not alone. Sometimes our self-care suffers. Love to you both and your family.

Ladies.....WHAT WONDERFUL daughters you are. I had 1 child that got an aggressive cancer in 2015 at the age of 34. We quilt our jobs and went to California to help his wife and 4 daughters. I have struggled with my weight my entire life and ended up gaining 100 pounds that year. He died 10 days before his 36th birthday. 9 years later I still struggle. This is a journey to move forward again. It will take the time it takes. Hugs and prayers as you Navigate these coming years.❤❤❤❤❤

Lost my Daddy in 2017 to lung cancer so I can relate. I was 55 at the time but I was still his little girl. To all the people who feel the need to boost themselves up by pointing out that you gained a little weight or had skin issues...go get a life. Girls, you are both beautiful and this will get better. I don't focus now on the months leading up to his death now and you will get there, too. Prayers and love to you both.❤

I feel honored that you shared this with us. It is so dificult to lose your father, and then to talk about it. My Daddy died 10 years ago in June. Momma died three years later. While I am nearly 67, those were some of the hardest moments of my life. I want you to understand that those of us who became interested in your channel due to being overweight think that you two are both extraordinarily nice looking and that includes your bodies. I had no hint that either of you had gained a pound let alone 15 lbs. I started a keto (or technically keto) diet last September largely because of you two and am now down a little over 30 lbs. My doctor, at my six-month check up last week, was so impressed. Just let us know when you start the new channel, but please keep this one, too. I love the recipes! Cauliflower rice is delicious, and your orange chicken is fantastic! Oh, I did the drying of the cauliflower rice in the oven last time and it came out great! We love it! 😘💗

I'm so sorry for your loss. Cancer is a nasty thing. One thing no one tells you is that when someone is diagnosed with cancer no matter what type, even if it does go into remission or you're cancer free, it can always come back. I was diagnosed with stage 3 colon cancer in March of 2022 cancer free at the moment, but I live in fear. Your dad was a cancer warrior. Sending positive vibes ✨️
@twinfin85718 ай бұрын
I pray you are able to change your outlook and remove the fear in your life. Love each day and those around you. Have a positive attitude. Fear and stress attract illness. Even if you don’t believe that statement, if you refuse fear, you’ll feel so much better. Nobody has a guarantee of anything in life. (I had a very rare ovarian cancer. I’m 10 years past chemo and doing great. I was told my particular cancer had a high probability of returning within 5 yrs.. I actually told my doctor nope….been there, done that, it won’t come back. Don’t worry.) But that’s me. I’m 77yrs old, no medications and healthy lifestyle. But I attribute my health to my mental attitude. Of course, when our time is up, it’s up. But if you’re in remission, keep a positive attitude. You’ve been given a blessing. Good luck yo you ❤️

You ladies are beautiful inside and out. I am 72 years old and I lost my husband 13 years ago to ALL. I know exactly what you’re talking about because I had that same experience. I had to work because I held the insurance and all I did was get up in the morning go to work, go to the hospital, which was two hours away and come home at 11 o’clock at night and get up the next day and do it all over again. there were some mean people who criticized me for not being by his side 100% of the time. My working was keeping him alive. He died on Mother’s Day and two month short of our 40th anniversary. We had planned a trip to Australia for that anniversary , and never got there. You girls helped me get my A1c levels down from 7.5 to 5.6. I no longer have diabetes 2. I love you both so much . I love your humor. I’m so sorry you lost your precious Dad. May he rest in peace.

My Mum died in Sept 21, I went to visit her in June and because of covid I was stuck there 2,000 kms from home for 3 months. I gained so much weight and got so ill that by the time she died I was determined to get home and do something about it. That was the start of my keto journey, I lost 25 kilos, reversed diabetes, lowered blood pressure, gave up all medications and a very big part of that journey was your videos. I know how you both feel but want you to know how grateful I am for your channel and your recipes and your wonderful attitude and fun videos. Thank you from the bottom of my much healthier heart. I'm crying. I've been caring for my husband for the last 4 years, he has a rare leukemia plus is on dialysis. Every week is tracking hemoglobin and platelets, driving him to dialysis, doctor's appointments, transfusions, treatments. Like your dad my husband is the sweetest patient, even as he gets sicker and sicker. We worry that his leukemia is going to mutate, he hasn't had chemo in a year, his choice because it interfered with dialysis. And last week he was also diagnosed with melanoma and will have that removed in a few days. I really need to lose weight, but right now I don't give a hoot. God bless you both, and your mom. I'm glad you can be there for her. Be kind to yourselves. We'll be here when you're ready.

Ladies, do not give unsupportive people power over you. You did the exact right thing for you and your family. Watching a parent suffer, waste away, and eventually leave you is traumatic. You fell back on your coping mechanisms. Forgive yourselves and eff the haters! He was proud of you and loved that you two were doing something lasting. I love your videos and have used them for my keto journey. From one child-survivor of death-by-cancer to another. You did all the right things. You chose your dad. Your family. Since that time, going “dirty keto” as you call it, along with intermittent fasting I’ve lost 130 lbs. I can honestly say that you & four other KZbinrs were my inspiration to finally take my health serious. You both sound like you were phenomenal daughters that stepped up like family should and not only made your Dad your top priority but never let him feel like a burden. God bless you both & please never, ever let comments about your weight or appearance make you feel badly about yourself. The only thing that truly matters is your heart, and obviously you both have enormous hearts! Thank you for sharing & thank you for the help you’ve provided me! You also created a lot of revenue for the Dash company. I bought seven different mini-waffle makers to make your dang chaffle recipes! 😂
