You ladies are the best. Your honesty about keto and family is so heartwarming. It's good to have something not "real life" going on while real life is going on. Do whatever you need to do to grieve, we all will be here when you're ready.

I really enjoy watching both of you and all of your content is fantastic. But I would like to hear more about how you deal with not having a cocktail with alcohol while doing keto. I’m not a fan of mock tails or the LMNT drink. Any other suggestions?
@technicallyketo
@technicallyketo 20 сағат бұрын
We drink alcohol a couple times a month, we stick to vodka and we even put LMNT in it (vodka, seltzer, LMNT) or just seltzer vodka lime. If you are in ketosis and drink alcohol (that doesn’t have carbs) your body will convert that first and then go back to ketones after a couple hours. Be warned though that your tolerance goes way down if you are in ketosis or lose weight

I think you both look incredible. I also think that you both look wonderful in spite of everything. I have watched many of your posts. I don’t think that you look like you gained weight. But if you say that you have then I would say that given all you've been through that 15 lbs isn't much at all. I am sorry about your loss. I agree with one of the commenters: grief doesn't go away. It just changes. He must have been a great dad because he has such great daughters.

How did you two meet your husbands? I think I remember you guys spoke about your husbands when you showed us past pictures of yourselves... & know I'm wondering if you already said how you met your husbands on there... hmmm. Another question is would you ever create a keto product to sell? & Lastly, have you tried the Quest picy chips, please teach me how to make some yummy spicy chips nommm

I’m so glad you shared this. My husband oh 69 years passed December 2, 2023, and like your dad he did not want to be fussed over and wanted to continue to making me happy. You ladies have such strength I don’t know how you could talk about your daddy and not break down. Listening to you giving me some peace, even if it is fleeting. No matter how much weight you gain back it doesn’t matter to anyone. You ladies are special thank you again for all the tryouts and laughs. You have given me.

When I was keto and lost a lot of weight, my mom passed, then 2 months later my dad passed away, then a few months after that my dog died. Then my fiancé went through something severe and almost lost his life. I have gained 60 lbs since this happened 2 years ago. Now I am ready to get back on track, keto was my life saver and it will be my life saver again.

I really love all your keto friendly recipes and have tried several. I'm more of a high protein/carnivore girl myself and would love to see you try some carnivore-ish type dishes. I typically eat one meal a day and it's usually a "power bowl" of protein like chicken, beef, pork, whatever's handy with seasonings and shredded cheese👍😁

Hi Girls. Thanks for the update. I can’t believe that we have walked the same journey at basically the same time. My daughter and 3 sons are all around the same age as you and they are finding their new normal too. They all have supportive families to go home to. Your mom and I are alone and that’s a totally different experience. Not worse just different. I’m so glad you are taking good care of her and are watching the Korean shows. They really are good. This 4th of July week they have made sure that I’m not alone which I greatly appreciate. I listen to their experiences and support them as well. Those daily trips to the hospital, then rehabs and back to the hospital are very draining. Non stop! In our case my husband came home on hospice and wasn’t supposed to pass so quickly so then I’ve had to jump into the funeral mode and that kept us all busy and then bang. Everything comes to a screeching halt and its like now what? So when I pray for my kids I’ll be praying for you two and your sister and mom. I was blessed to have both parents live to 92. My husband was only 70 but we met when I was 16. 51 years together. Our birthdays are this month. On a more positive note, congratulations to your sister and all of you! I’m sure that baby is going to bring you guys wonderful times together! I hope you both find new homes that suit you. Land is good! God bless all of you.❤️🙏

Just an idea… I bought a house from probate… check with the county that you want to buy. Sometimes you can get them cheap enough you could pay for renovations. (It totally can end a marriage!) Here back tax sales can be taken back if the prior owner pays the taxes and any updates made with receipts. But probate sales are final. My first house was 13K. It was a total wreck, but still, it could have been contracted for about 60k. So 73k for a house is a steal. And I was on an acre in a suburb. I’m across the river from you I believe. 😊 Just a thought!

I was the same way about going to the hospital/medical center my doctor was in after my husband passed away at that hospital. Even driving past it brought back so many heavy feelings. I used to set a place at the table for him, realizing seconds later he had passed. Grieving is a very trying time that takes a long time to feel some peace about. Just know you have support from your followers.

I’m in a very similar situation, my Mom, business partner, and best friend passed about 6 weeks ago. With so much care you do wonder what you should do with yourself now. It’s going to be a process, day by day, keep moving forward the best you can.
