I would just do an insert that fits inside the borders of the existing table. If you want to go bigger just make the insert bigger. When not in use remove the insert and store in a convenient location. 😊

We (mostly) live aboard, and I'm certainly not trying to talk anyone out of a paying job - but we love our plastic SQUARE plates. Much more efficient use of space in our humble opinion. They fit more food, and the ones we've got have fairly high sides to to them - so they've worked very well for us while underway - even when our lunch/dinner is rather juicy. We're not aboard at the moment or I'd send you a photo. No idea where we got them, but I'll bet we didn't pay more than $1/plate or so. A possible solution is perhaps to change your plates instead of your table?? - Just a thought. :)

Sorry for tardy reply. My antiquated memory is so cluttered with information it's hard to retrieve. I had a similar custom built,, except down below. I located a well regarded woodworker/cabinet maker. He was so well regarded, when he replanked the restrooms of the bar he owned, the work was so exquisite, the word went out, no one was to deface the walls. No one did.

Thank you very much for watching Dave. Crisalída is originally from the Dominican Republic. I started speaking Spanish in Madrid in school (castellano) a hundred years ago, but have been living in Puerto Rico for awhile. So between the Boriqua and the Dominicanos, my Castilian Spanish has greatly suffered. 😂. In my teens, I was quite comfortable with my Spanish. But after almost 40 years of not using it, it took falling in love with a non English speaker to bring it back. I find that we don't pick up things (like languages) as easy as we did when we were younger. CUOTO
