Many years of my decting It's difficult now to get permissions. I have folks say the same thing that I planted coins and soforth. You are going to have folks that don't appreciate your finds and make negative comments . If it were not for you, Mike and Philip, I would not got back into decting. Thanks for acknowledging the vets. As a veteran, I appreciate it. Philip- Spencer , Ohio

Love your hunts & don’t worry about the negativity from folks. I like how you fast forward and play music while you’re digging. Most folks don’t realize how much time you spend just walking & swinging.

I know in the 80s when I did MOST of my detecting if I had a nickel for every pull tab I dug....i would be rich.😂

I can vouch that research is key. I've only been detecting for about 2 years and hit at least one silver when I do my research. When I dont, not so much.

Nice hunt. Congrats on the 41 quarter Mike! It must have been lost in the 60s or 70s because of the wear. A little girl would love to have the angel earring. I keep thinking that the brass stud would be used in something wooden. I've seen brass studs used in fireplace mantles for looks, and furniture.

Nice hunt! Surprise John, you found a silver dime! Ha Ha. Some flat buttons are difficult to pin down a specific time frame for. But I think your button is anywhere from Civil War up till about 1900.

We get our share of doubters also. Like you said, you have to put in the research and do some door knocking, and anyone can find silvers and old coins and relics. Congrats on the silvers. Nice hunt guys.

Tell your haters that there's a fellow in Illinois who used to spend his 2 weeks vacation every year metal detecting around the country where old maps said there were trading posts, train depots and river landings. He was a coal miner and at the time of his retirement was making almost $90,000/yr with his overtime. He sold most of his finds when he turned 70 and, said he wished he hadn't spent so much time in those dark holes in the ground because, his finds sold for just under his last 15 years of working.

What type of shovels do you all use? I've used a hand digging tool since I started in the late 80s early 90s but being 50 now the getting up and down a hundred times a day is getting harder than it used to be. Just curious about the length and something good for the type of hunting I do which is really similar to the places you all hunt. Being in south Georgia it's almost impossible to dig in the summer without a shovel.

💥💥💥💥Are they Faking It? I've been doing this for a long time. 2 years with the AT Pro, the entire lifespan of the Deus I, and two years with the Deus II. The reason they find so much silver is because they have excellent technique. @7:14 Note how Mike swings the coil. If you're a fellow detectorist that can't understand how well he uses that coil, you're probably not finding much silver. These guys are 100% legit. I know, because I also have excellent technique, and I find all the good stuff the rest of you miss with your horrible swing and lack of ground coverage.

I like you guys, and enjoy watching your videos, and im not trying to be an ass, but you can get a Lesche hand digging tool for $50-60. That would save you a lot of hit coins. If you guys were digging anything older than mercs, I'd have to stop watching.

My best was 7 silver at one site. My advice is you have to put in the time. You have to search thoroughly and carefully if you want to find stuff!! The whats-it could be a wax seal matrix for sealing envelopes. Happy Hunting!

If I had a channel they'd say the same thing. I'm digging public property - mostly schools and parks and I'm finding civil war bullets and buttons, and this year I've dug 16 silver coins and about 30 pieces of silver jewelry all because I'm gridding. last week I dug 2 3 ringers on a school property. I bought some flags and I'm gridding these ball fields and soccer fields etc. More there than meets the eye. I have my detector set up for tones and it makes it easier to find the good stuff. However, I do dig just about anything above a 55 on the detector.
