"This would be his best work ever. He will work with all the best artists" Entertain me for a moment but what if this is all part of a conspiracy to make sure Dre's family is set for life. The last track Dre produced ALONE (besides intros, outros and a couple of tracks he did for The Defiant Ones in 2017) was 10 YEARS AGO, it was called “Dead People” by The Game and it dropped in December 2012. I love Dre’s work and contribution to hip hop but this man is lazy af nowadays, sometimes there’s a whole year he doesn’t produce even 1 track, and when he does it’s mostly co-production (just mixing and mastering mostly). I get he is successful now and he doesn’t need to produce entire albums alone like he did in the beginning of his career but c’mon, how come a guy that is always in the studio never drops ANYTHING. Detox probably had 100 songs he did which mostly were probably revolutionary, this man is never satisfied with anything he does and just keeps making excuses to why he’s not active like he used to be 20/30 years ago. In the last 4 years he only produced 15 tracks, in 4 YEARS, that gives it an average time of 97.5 days per track, something like 3 months or 13 weeks… FOR ONE TRACK. We’re talking about rap beats, made mostly of loops without a lot of new sounds added in the middle, any good producer can do a great beat in some days, maybe some hours sometimes, Dre being the genius he is it shouldn’t take him 10 TIMES LONGER, it’s just excuses

@@boofman0486 because that album almost got him kicked back onto the street. Detox became a myth when he signed em. Til then he only stuck to his dynasty roster. Eminem/ 50 / g unit (some) and Obie trice along with other east coast sound and then game. Dre don’t got time for his own til 2001’s chronic and then Compton . So I mention his 96 album because that was a hard hit he took and deathrow was infiltrating his personal space and was calling their album - chronic 2000 which was a compilation so hence why I brought it up because taking two loses plus the beef with suge knight and death threats to Dre , and the record label serious

He did complete Detox a few times over the years, actually. I know for a fact there were at least two near-complete or complete records, although there may have been a third, but for different reasons, Iovine and Interscope weren't into it. One heavily featured rapper Bishop Lamont, who is a severely underrated MC, and there was another that relied more on sparser piano beats like his song "Imagine" with Snoop and Iovine didn't want it thinking it wasn't going to appeal to radio/mainstream audiences. You can hear the unfinished leak "Topless" to gather that album's sound. The third version featured leaked songs like "Popped Off" (which was completed and released as a song on TI's mixtape many years later) and "Under Pressure". The ultimate reason Detox wasn't finished was mostly due to the fact Dre felt the records weren't good enough, and ultimately, Detox was first conceived as an idea in the mid-2000's when Eminem, 50 Cent, Game, G-Unit, and others were at their career peaks. So through the years, Dre would give his beats to songs like "In da Club", lots to Eminem, and others, on top of the fact that Dre is a strict perfectionist and doesn't just bang out songs. He crafts every single imaginable facet of them and has thousands of songs in a vault we'll never hear. That said, Compton is a FIRE album and underrated for how amazing it is with its mixing, features, sound, and wild production.

When was Dre’s last interview? Someone need to put him on blast and ask why?
@sugeknightiswatchingyou2 жыл бұрын

I've been saying since I was a kid that Dre is gonna hold the record til he's on his deathbed and then and only then when he flatlines will it drop!

He still gone drop it, As a posthumous release no one did it better than Tupac and I’m sure he might just be waiting for a posthumous release so Dre know what he doing

Compton was a masterpiece!!! It WASN'T what people were anticipating, but PRODUCTION WISE, holy shit that album is crazy. It has a more theater in it than rap fans were expecting, like, or were ready for. I honestly think that Compton was WAAAAAY ahead of its time, and that THAT was the problem. That record is CRAZY intricate. I love it.

I really really hope we will get DETOX sooner rather than later….. but knowing DRE PERSONALLY LIKE I DO. The songs he recorded with almost all major artist from late 90’s - 2012 will be a huge compilation album after he passes on! Gonna be a few Tupac songs he never dropped and other songs that he just abandoned and never finished after the classic rap sound changed to what it is today.. songs with NATE DOG AND WARREN G SNOOP AND GAME KENDRICK LAMAR GONNA HAVE A REAL WEST COAST VIBE A “ GOLD CHRONIC” album 💿

To be fair, I remember a few songs got "leaked" from what people believed were meant for Detox but they didnt really gain traction. I wonder if Dre was testing the waters but nothing was hitting so he kept pushing it further back. I remember DIEING for this album to come out (I felt almost as much anticipation I had for Method Man's second album).

Just so y'all know, the songs Dre made for GTA Online's The Contract DLC were really great. It is a FACT that he indeed is a perfectionist and does not release any music of his whatsoever until it meets his standards to the exact point. PREACH🔥
