DC20 is cool. It’s a 4AP system with stacking advantage and disadvantage. Spells are modular and there’s lots of martial powers. You choose your main ability score and always get to attack with it. I’ve got a preview packet you could check out if you’d like

I’m confused by the discussion of “knowing a character’s fate before playing the game”. Is this pretty common? Do most people plan out the way their characters are going to end/die before playing? Not that there’s anything wrong with that, but I’ve never seen that done. In my groups, we usually assume the point of playing is finding out what happens to the character along the way, based on the events, NPCs, and and conflicts they encounter. It’s an interesting idea, I just wonder if that means the DM/GM is always making sure the events and storylines lead to the player’s planned end?

Imo it's usually less "This is how my character's story will end" and more "I have this idea about how my character's story will end" It might specifically be "This character will become a hag part way through the campaign and functionally die" or it might be something more general like "My character will not have a happy ending"

Re Indie TTRPGs: I like Cairn, Shadowdark, Stillfleet.

Cairn takes out so much guess work for adventure design. 3 stats to keep track of, spells are all interpreted by the Warden/DM and wildly powerful, the players don't level up traditionally. Only problem is when players hate that LOL. I love ShadowDark for similar reasons.

What I think would be really cool, though extremely unlikely. Would be if the 2 of you, Ginny Di & her husband, Duke & Amy (One Shot Questers), and Bob & Grace (Bob World Builder) all played a full Campaign of all the Dragon Modules combined (Icespire Peak, Stormwreck Isle, Dragon Hoard, Tyranny of Dragons, and any others that I'm forgetting) run by the Dimension 20 dude. Using any or all official sourcebooks pre-2024 for spells, backgrounds, and Races. Streaming it here on KZbin for free with the full minis & landscape setups. 5:42 That's kinda hot & funny at the same time. 8:48 What about the characters from the Dungeon Delve Tomb of Horrors group? I think they would do well. 18:17 Heck yes I agree that many sinks & countertops are too short as well as some toilets. As for tubs they are often too small as well. I'm a 31 year old Man around 6 foot 5 inches tall and between 280-295 pounds in weight. There are times I would enjoy getting a bath to soak sore muscles and back while also getting clean. BUT MOST TUBS ARE TOO DANG SMALL!!! 51:18
