Ippo was able to land a few good blows on Mashiba even after the anti-champ strategy was deployed. I can see Rosario going for fouls in such an exchange instead of the honest boxing that Ippo goes for. Maybe landing a cut above the eyes with an elbow or even going so far as to stomp on Mashiba's foot like Mashiba himself did against Miyata, all while saying the "It's unfair" BS. Mashiba might then feel tempted to fight fire with fire and foul Rosario back, with the dark shadow egging him on, only to be reminded by Ippo or Kumi yelling at him that he is above that... Or he may just dissect Rosario even further and go for an easy win, after having thoroughly dissected Rosario's style thanks to Ippo. I feel the fight is going too good for Mashiba, so Morikawa will throw in some drama. After all, World Champions are monsters in their own right and Morikawa has always shown that world champs are built different. Rosario appears to be inspired by fighters like Ricardo Mayorga, Wilfred Benitez and Roberto Duran so I don't think that he will go down so easily.

@@whatmeanstobestrong You are too kind! I'm on the fence on how the fight might go due to how Morikawa tends to draw from boxing history for his characters and arcs. Hearns, Mashiba's inspiration, had title bouts against both Wilfred Benitez, a great Puerto Rican champ, and Roberto Duran, known as a hard hitting champion with a history of street fighting. Hearns vs Benitez was a close bout that went the distance AFAIK ,but Hearna ultimately won. Duran, on the other hand, was billed as a fight between 2 of the 4 middleweight kings at the time, but Hearns thoroughly dissected Duran and put him out early in the fight. After the fight, given how Mashiba is so nonchalant with ringside interviews, will likely spill the beans and call Makunochi out, telling him that he was a better southpaw than the champ.

As far as I know, Morikawa has not even confirmed the inspiration for Rosario so I'm just drawing one-sided conclusions. I wonder if Rosário is really a southpaw, is there no possibility in the fight that he changes his base and goes to the orthodox style? And if even in the orthodox style he was unable to counter attack Mashiba, he would be left with no way out and would start resorting to cheating...
