One mod you must absolutely have if you want to hang on to it is have the radar protection plate fitted ! Ask Ed all about that one ! Look forward to many videos on your stunning alfa quad.👍

I can only agree! I own a 2022 Veloce Q4 and I absolutely love this car in almost every way. Of course, the sound cannot be compared with the Quadrifoglio and the difference in performance is logically noticeable, but in terms of performance, the GME T4 four-cylinder still has a lot of room for improvement. The same engine is used with a larger turbo and mild hybrid in the Maserati Ghibli GT and delivers 330 hp. It's a shame that Alfa Romeo doesn't also offer this performance level for the Giulia. It would fill the big performance gap between the Veloce and the Quadrifoglio. without needing a new engine.

Congrats on your purchase. Ive gone the opposite way from owning a 19QV to now a 17C63s coupe as I developed an oil leak on the timing chain cover gasket which got fixed under warranty but resurfaced again so the dealer bought the car back off me. The QV was such a hard car to let go of but I couldn’t put up with the leak any longer with such low km’s on the car. What I will say is that the biggest things I miss about the QV are the steering, transmission and how raw the car felt in the seat of my pants. What the 17c63s does well is its interior, fit and finish and how brutal that v8 is especially on the downshifts being a pre-face lift car. All the best, hope you enjoy it just as much as I did when I had mine.
@thomasbateman70714 ай бұрын
Excellent…enjoy the C63!! Think I feel pretty similarly thus far i.e. the great drive in Alfa vs the interior and sound in the C63. Fingers crossed the reliability holds up 🤞

Interesting to see you have gone the other way! Thanks for taking the time to write your comment! If you could only have one which one would you take Giulia or C63 ? 👀
@domenicsofo56424 ай бұрын
@@NaturallyAspiratedI've often thought the same thing since my 6 months of owning my c63. They are both such good cars in their own right that the QV is superior in its steering and nimble feeling but i do prefer the ultra stiff, flat feeling you get in corners with the c63. How a car sounds is a big thing for me personally so i like how you always here the v8 at whatever speed your travelling at, as with the Qv i was always in race mode 100% of the time because of wanting to here the sound of the motor. I do miss the uniqueness of the QV but in saying all that i think i'll take the c63 just for that sound of that v8.

Congrats! get a decent warranty. Generally engine and gearbox are reliable but there are common issues like drop links, headlight condensation, fuel pumps…etc. Thames Alfa in SE is a great main dealer. There is an aftermarket security upgrade (for the radar port) which cancels the famous vulnerability that caused many of these to be stolen. Lastly be very careful with race mode in the winter/wet
@NaturallyAspirated4 ай бұрын
I will pass all this info on! Thames Alfa is a great shout! The security has been sorted already! We have unfortunately already experienced the loss of a Quad on the channel due to the rubbish security! We have also warned him about race mode! Haha

There’s the sexiest sports sedan on the planet right there. I have a series 4 in the same colour. It is a work of art and a the last petrol models will be future classics. I wouldn’t change a thing on it to be honest. I guess I am a bit older and modified things on cars in the past, but Alfa Romeo would have been happy with what was rolled off the factory floor - why change PERFECTION! 🇮🇹❤

Exhaust valve bypass from AHM Motorsport, unless one is already fitted - as it allows you to have the valves open all the time rather than switching to Race Mode. I have this on my Misano Blue Stelvio Quadrifoglio and wouldn't be without it.

@@NaturallyAspirated another thing Tom might want to think about is joining Alfa Romeo Owners Club as their brokers get decent rates for insurance. I have been member since buying my Stelvio, and it has kept my insurance to just under £1k. I was with Carol Nash and insurance on renewal earlier this year went from £700pa to £1500pa, LV quoted £1800, through the AROC insurance brokers they got the premium down to just under £1k - ironically through LV!

Nice car! It'll probably cost you plenty, in my experience. I would keep mods to a minimum if I were you and set up a bank account you try and forget you have, for running costs. They look beautiful anyway, don't ruin it with tat. Put the money you might have spent on mods, in there... Use it regularly as well, the splitter actuator issue seems more common on cars that are used less (as well as ones that have been grounded hard). I've seen that light once and it was when the car had sat for 2 weeks, lesson learned. People on the forums that have had lower and higher mileage ones, seem to have more issues the less they drive them - definitely keep the battery charged and change it if its not right (rear demister and start stop not working is an early sign). For your purposes you have a good spec in one of the 16 to mid-18 cars, if you don't need the 5th seatbelt these cars have the most direct handling, thinner glass/carbon roof as standard, louder engine, and I'm guessing are a bit lighter than the later cars - though I'd love to see some real weights. The OEM brakes are great but nigh on £3k to replace in that spec. Every 4th service is at least £1200 even from a specialist, probably more like £2k if you do what you should (I use AHM and they're no cheaper than main dealers, but know what they are doing 100% so its worth it to me). Tyres and fuel not too bad for this sort of car, but parts like shocks and fuel pumps that seem to cause some issues, are expensive and can have daft lead times from AR. Befriend a good specialist, my fuel pump failed recently and AHM had two in stock and did it in days; someone on the QF FB group had his car at AR more than 6 months waiting for the same............. I had a 156GTA before, this is much the same in that it costs an unholy amount to keep "right", and has some foibles, but feels so special and looks so beautiful I can forgive it, in a world of very ugly (and bad riding) performance cars this is a gem. Ironically for the channel name the very turbocharged feel of the engine in normal driving is one of the few drawbacks for me, but all modern performance cars are like that now. I came from two XFR's in a row that sounded more special - and felt pokier - at low revs, but the Alfa feels so much lighter and more nimble. As soon as the revs rise a bit (driven in "Dynamic" mode, say) the engine is amazing. The car is just so refined and comfy, and keeps revs so low in Normal and Eco modes, it can feel a bit normal at times, but that's also a big plus for long distances.

I really like the Giulia Quadrifoglio, hardly see any on the road compared to M3/M4s which are everywhere. Biggest niggles for me compared to the competition C63, RS4/5 & M3/4 are the not so granular driving modes (no traction option for race mode for example), the lack of 5 seats and folding seats on the early cars and the higher servicing costs (aux belt service is a biggie). There is very limited aftermarket support for parts, servicing and repairs and no where near the number of specialists as for performance Mercedes, BMWs and Audis.
@thomasbateman70714 ай бұрын
Yer these are all great points. I’ve definitely noticed the slight lack of functionality on the driving modes…although probably forces me to be a better driver when in Race…fine in this lovely sunshine but as soon as it turns wet it’s a different story. Think I’ll have to do the aux belt with the next two years but at least it’s a known issue which can be priced for.

CDCM and Gearbox/Diif remap to GTAm spec are great mods, aside from that for a road car with occasional track use just enjoy. Brakes and Tyres are likely main costs, I went Autodoc Brembo discs, EBC bluestuff pads all round and Continental Sport Contact 7's for when summer ends and the pirelli's are put in the shed for a sleep. Other big cost is the 4 year/36k major service which is for the serpentine belt, 2k job give or take at main dealer these days, indy will be able do for less and also replace other bits without issues like the water pump which many people are having done for piece of mind.
@NaturallyAspirated5 ай бұрын
Thank you for this! Much appreciated! Is the a big noticeable difference with the GTAm spec remaps?

Really helpful, thanks! I think I could be tempted by a brake upgrade but will see how it does on the tack first. I’ve got an extended warranty on the car…do you think there’s any chance that would cover the belt? Or would it be considered normal servicing…
@coopsturbo4 ай бұрын
@@thomasbateman7071 normal servicing unfortunately chap so make sure you check when it was done last and ensure sort when needed. The brakes on these will chew through pad on track, I went through about half the bluestuff fronts and I'm pretty smooth and easy on brakes. So if you're a last of the late brakers or a bit of a bull in a china shop you'll use more.
