@@AI-Records24 I'll write in detail. I live in a country where the main market for electric vehicles is used cars from an accident from the USA. By the way, we are among the TOP 10 in Europe in terms of growth rates of the electric car market. Our power system was destroyed by Russia, a month ago I personally had power at home 6 hours a day. And so on for 3 weeks. Our craftsmen disassemble electric vehicle batteries into autonomous power systems. My brother has specialized in repairing electric car batteries since 2017. In our country, every second technician at a service station that works with electric cars can disassemble and reassemble the battery. So here it is. 95% of craftsmen do not undertake the reconstruction or repair of KIA/Hyundai batteries. Even “live” cells from cars of these manufacturers are not used for home autonomous power supply systems. They are either worthless or dangerous. 1. In pursuit of marketing success, increase the permissible voltage range and kill a new battery in 2 years. 2. Allow recuperation at maximum voltages and, as a result, heat the cells. 3. Pack the cells tightly into bags so that they “bulge.” These are only 3 main “bugs” of KIA/Hyundai. I won’t continue, there are quite technical nuances there. Thanks, I'll go with Tesla for now. The second one, by the way. Before this, I owned 5 electric cars for more than 6 months.

@CFG39Ай бұрын
As someone who has owned both a Model 3P and an EV6 GT (Ioniq 5N’s sister car) there’s really no comparison in how they drive. The Tesla’s open differentials means the rear tires easily lose traction and the only way it can put power down is by braking a wheel. Not ideal. The brakes in the Tesla also get cooked easily. The suspension is nowhere nearly as good either. Hit a bump mid corner and the rear of the Tesla gets unsettled. The Kia (and Ioniq 5N) just stick and go. They are more comfortable, you feel the rear differential pushing you through curves and the brakes can stand up to real abuse. The battery pack also doesn’t overheat after a few hard launches like it does in the Tesla. The other amazing thing is how there isn’t as much of a range difference IRL as you would expect. My Model 3P was a 220-230 mile car at highway speeds. The Kia and Hyundai deliver almost the same range but can charge 10-80% in 50% less time. Peak charge rates are almost identical between the cars but the charging curve couldn’t be different. Whereas the Tesla peaks and then drops to under 100kW right around 50% SOC, the Hyundai and Kia keep pulling at 235-240kW up to and beyond 50% and even by 80% they’re still chugging along at 150kW vs. the 3 which will be around 50kW.
@rafaeldelrey9239Ай бұрын
Did you own the new Model 3?
@CFG39Ай бұрын
@@rafaeldelrey9239 I owned a pre-refresh Model 3P but I’ve driven a new one. The battery pack, motors, and basic vehicle architecture are identical between the two. The main difference is the adoption of adaptive damping finally, and wider rear tires. On the road they feel very similar. The new larger rear tires give you more purchase for a hard launch but they still don’t have any sort of ability to overcome open differentials and even in comfort mode the suspension is still overly firm. Tesla cheaped out by not adding a rear electronically controlled differential. In the Hyundai and Kia when you are in a curve and hit the accelerator you feel the rear end rotate. In the Tesla it just plows with understeer and cuts power and tries to brake the inside rear wheel to prevent slip and force power to the other side. I bought the GT before the 5N was available. If it had been available I would’ve gone with it. It’s one of the most fun to drive cars I’ve ever driven. I’m hoping the upcoming refreshed EV6 will get some of the new features the 5N launched with. Even so, I still prefer the drive of the EV6 over the refreshed 3. Especially as a daily driver, the EV6 is far more comfortable, still has stalks for turn signals and wipers, an IR rain sensor so the automatic wipers are actually usable, surround view cameras, cross traffic detection, a HUD, and much more practicality with the hatchback vs. sedan trunk.

Can you haggle on the price? These performance trims are usually produced in smaller quantities and the dealers don't usually haggle on them in the US. Thanks @carwow Mat and Richard for the great video! Someone had to pit these 2 electric speedsters against eachother! So your results make sense, because the Ioniq N has a power to weight ratio of 29% (27% without the 10-second boost) vs the Tesla's 25%, but the torque to weight ratio is 20-21% for the Ioniq N, whereas the Tesla has 35%. That's probably why it took off quicker off the line initially but then got steadily passed. However, what would be interesting is to see how the US version of the Model 3 Performance fairs against the Ioniq N, since it's got a power to weight ratio of 28% (510HP, 50 more than the UK version), which is much closer to that of the Ioniq N...They're both quick cars, but I'm surprised that Tesla reduced the power of it's EMEA Performance Model 3s vs the US ones...

@@4literv6 one foot rollout? And they didn't use the boost here that cuts about 3/10th. They are probably about the same. Away from the dragstrip, no battery temp optimisations or soc optimisation, the 800v 5N architecture probably takes it most of the time. And to add further insult, it doesn't even matter for the 5N, it was never made for numbers, rather it is an actual proper performance car that is also fun...

@@davidsongood2627Both are fast it's as simple as that. The difference is the 5N and other true "performance" cars can be pushed to their limit around any track while the tesla can't even finish a 2 min lap without over heating. The model 3 is a one trick poney.

@@G82Watts Undoubtedly, the Hyundai has better thermals than the EU Model 3, but the US Model 3 has significantly better thermals than the EU one. More testing is required. The model 3 is very much not a 1 trick pony and can handle a hot lap or 2 completely fine. Check out "2024 model 3 Laguna seca" for evidence.

The Tesla is lighter with less power than the Hyundai. Both vehicles are impressive as hell in acceleration. It’s the price though. These are expensive vehicles to my way of thinking. I’m retired and pushing 8 decades on the planet. The prices of everything have skyrocketed since Covid from my viewpoint. I feel like I’ve fallen asleep and woke up 20 years later. I don’t remember a time where vehicle prices have jumped ahead so much more than the cost of living. Am I way off base?

Did we watch the same video? Because I saw an overpriced Hyundai not even be able to really outperform the UK's M3P. Remember that the US gets a more powerful version due to the batteries, so what you're see is the weakest performance of an M3P. This means that the M3P in the US is actually faster than the Hyundai while being over $20k less.
@onehorsepowerАй бұрын
@@rustler08 you don't actually know anything about the 5N now do you? Unlike the M3P, very nice daily driver, extra turn of speed and nice handling, the 5 N is an actual performance car. No it's not in this video, neither is everything you bring in here about the M3P in this vid. And untill we actually put these cars cars together, US spec, it's actually not clear cut. This is no foot rollout, no boosst button, no prepped track, no rear seats out, no light wheel, no battery prep performance. I wouldn't be surprised if they are roughly as fast. The M3 P US bit faster from a dig, the 5 N has it at higher speeds is what I expect. But in the 5 N is not about dragracing numbers, it was developed to actually perform well on track, and there it is literally miles ahead of a M3P... And it's actually Model Y size, so let's see what that one does once refreshed... I actually appreciate each of these cars, just don't think one is superior to another just because you don't know anything about the other car...
